Wine slushie
Amanda C.

Friendly staff, best wine slushies I've had. It was sweet, frozen, but not so frozen where you couldn't sip it up through the straw. You can also get it to go and then walk around the village. Highly recommend stopping here to sample some wines and even bring a bottle back home. A lot of the fruits used in the wines are grown locally!

I wasn't looking to do wine tasting when I pulled into the parking lot for Kitchen Kettle Village, but when I saw a wine tasting room I had to stop in! And I'm so glad I did. What a fantastic tasting! The employees were kind, welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. As they got to know what I liked to taste, they made great recommendations for what other wines I might like. I enjoyed EVERY wine I tasted! I've been to a lot of wineries throughout the U.S., and I don't think I've ever been able to say that about any other winery! The prices were also right (for the tasting, as well as for the bottles). One surprise for me was their apple wine - not at all overbearingly sweet as some apple wines can be. Served extremely cold, it reminds me of a mild cider crossed with a not-too-sweet wine. I took home a bottle to share with friends! The ambience is nice. The main level is the tasting bar in the middle, with fun wine-themed things to shop for around the perimeter. I did my tasting at the bar, and then took a glass of wine upstairs to a small loft where I could sit and relax. Because it's a loft, the conversations from downstairs traveled upstairs... so it was a tad noisier than I'd prefer. But I was very happy to sit for a while, enjoy good wine, and look out the windows. I don't remember there being any food options, but that was fine because I just went across the street for some lunch after my tasting. I'm eager to return! It was a great experience, with super wines!

12/22/2017 - After strolling around various shops at Kitchen Kettle Village, we decided to visit Waltz Vineyards Wine Shop. We walked in and saw two young women behind the counter. One was pouring wine for 2 customers and the other one was just sitting around. We asked the one sitting if we could do the tasting. She perked right up and informed us of the price, full flight $10 and what we would be sampling. We sat at the bar and were served six different wines. Two reds and two whites, a rose and their dessert wine. Of the whites that we were poured my favorite was the Sauvignon Blanc with notes of pear. Their Moscato was extremely sweet. I could see myself just sipping this as dessert itself. We sampled these crackers who looked like little pillows that taste like animal crackers....Delicious!. The reds were a bit dry but, I did enjoy the Barred Rock Red. The wines are on the pricier side. We enjoyed the tasting and were served by both ladies who were friendly. The shop is beautiful with rustic charm.

I am CURRENTLY sitting on their socially distanced patio enjoying a glass of wine and a plate of cheese. This business is doing a great job of keeping their customers safe during the time of Corona. The wine is fantastic and the associates are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I came yesterday and had the red blend. I just had to return today to try the merlot and cabaret. (One glass each, don't worry. ) Anyway. You can feel safe and taken care of when you come here and enjoy a delicious glass of wine!

Wine list and descriptions. Try the Barred Rock Red for if you like sweeter reds.

Enjoyed a tasting at Waltz Vineyards during the Music for Everyone weekend celebration. It was pretty busy downstairs, but we were able to grab a table in the upstairs tasting room, where it was much quieter. We had a 6 glass tasting - three whites and three reds. Favorites were the Old Line Chardonnay and the Barred Rock Red, but no one at my table was particularly fond of the Fusion or Stiegel Rose. Whites The Sauvignon Blanc was really nice, and I'm loving all things grapefruit this year, so I thought this would be my favorite of the night, but the Old Line Chardonnay, with its apple finish won me over. Reds I like my reds on the sweet side, and this had some really great cherry notes. I tried the Baron Red, which has apparently won some impressive awards, but it was just too dry for me, even with a really great steak, I don't know that it would be my thing. The Barred Rock Red would go well with pizza. Or chocolate. Or just with a glass. I left with a bottle and the knowledge that I will return. Venue The wine shop is open with an upscale rustic charm. Everything is easy to get to, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are a little steeper than I expected, but not completely outrageous. The upstairs tasting room was a little tighter than down stairs, but it was quiet and could make for a great private-party space.

Great little wine shop with options for wine tasting and orders by the glass. If you love a particular wine you can buy the bottle. The gift shop is full of adorable wine accessories and kitchen decor. I enjoyed the rosé. Especially that it was a dry rosé vs sweet. During your time there you can learn about the history of the winery and the process at the vineyard. Its definitely a wine lovers delight.

Very pleasant and helpful tasting room staff. The Tasting room is inviting and well designed. 3 white, 2 red, and 1 rose was available for tasting. The old line chardonnay was very good as well as the baron red.

BUT Tonight, I showed up after they closed but Kelly was still wrapping up end of day duties. I was all bundled up and I know she didn't recognize me but I made prayer hands and a pretty please face hoping she would let me buy a bottle. Today was a long day and I just wanted to get home and relax. She opened the door and I was very thankful. She told me she wanted to be gracious because she realized we do not always realize what kind of day or what people are going thru. She herself just had a difficult day at work last week as she received bad news at work. Let's all be a lil considerate of others, we all need grace. Cheers n Thank You Kelly I'm grateful for your graciousness tonight!

She had us choose which wines that we wanted to try, She brought the wines over and told us all about each of the wines. She told us what we would taste, what would it be like etc; It was an hour tasting but it was worth it. She was fabulous and amazing. Loved it. All of the wines were absolutely amazing and cheap. One thing is that the wines are all unique. The owner of the winery owns two wineries, gets some of the wine from his estate and other grapes from other areas nearby. The owner does an amazing job with the winery be a one man operation with the process, except with the help of his team. I recommend coming here. Currently they have strict guidelines and require the door to be locked, masks to be worn at all times, and only a minimum of so many guests are permitted inside at a single time.

I placed a reservation request in the morning, and they called me in the early afternoon to let me know there was availability, which was great. I appreciated the variety of 15 wines from which you could sample to create your tasting. My picks consisted of: -2020 Sauvignon Blanc -2020 Fusion (white) -2020 Cellar 1599 Riesling: Cellar 1599 is a Waltz label, for reference. -2018 Cellar 1599 Red Blend -2017 Baron Red I won't go into detail on my experiences with each wine, but I did have a glass (and then buy a bottle) of the Riesling. The tastings come in little tasting tubes that are basically test tubes. While some might find that unusual, I'm a science person, so I liked it! They also have a cheese board (choose one of four cheeses) with chocolate and crackers, which I added. The tasting room staff were friendly and accessible. It was a beautiful day and lots of families were out on the large lawn. Too bad there isn't a restaurant here, or it would be even more of a win. In any case, Waltz is a winner!

Waltz was…read morestop number one, and as my stars indicate we found it ok, but our experience with their products are not reflective of many fo the reviews which rate them considerably higher. The location and staff are both very nice. Honestly, I simply don't get the value equation here. These wines are relatively simple, and lack the complexity of wine at comparable (and fairly high) price points. That's not to say they are bad, just that I could rationalize paying prices of about a third of what they are charging. Focused only on the dry whites and reds, with the single exception of the off-dry Steigel Rose. The test tube format for the $12 tasting fee is unusual, but at the end of the day it's what you are paying for that counts. For the most part "unimpressive" was my takeaway (you take my opinion with however many grains of salt you like). We brought some good cheese with us and ended up purchasing a bottle of the $40 merlot, which was the best of the bunch. Merlot is very forgiving and adapts well to many terroirs, but it fell flat and struggled to stand up to the robust cheese. Folks - our SE Pa wineries such as Va La put them to shame at the same pricepoints (as does Wayvine, Galer, Stargazer, and Pennswood). I do try to patronize our budding wine economy here in PA, and I get the business model that these organizations need to drive to make money - essentially a "destination bar". But my repeat business is going to go to vineyards that do a better job of backing up their brand promise with solid winemaking chops.
