I loved the oxtail as the flavours were deep and the meat was tender. The mac salad it was served with was the star of the show and absolutely delicious, I really should have ordered a whole nother portion of it The jerk chicken was just okay, I felt the flavours were a bit on the sweet side for my liking. The jerk chicken was good, and it went so well with the famous creamy macaroni salad, as highlighted by others. Service was good. Hello foodies, today I bring you another Caribbean food review. Because of my love for Caribbean cuisine, I have to been to almost all the Caribbean restaurants or takeout joints in the GTA, so this place was on my must-visit list!  I finally made it around to stopping in for some lunch since I was in the area. I was really looking forward to trying their food since I read some pretty good reviews from some of the elite reviewers here on Yelp. This review is based solely on the items I ordered and no other dishes from this place.  I have a lot of experience with the typical Caribbean dishes as I frequent these restaurants on a weekly bases so I do have quite the reference to compare. The dishes I got were the Oxtail over white rice medium size and I  had to order a side order of the macaroni salad as I read such good things about it. With your meal, they throw in a complimentary small cup of coleslaw. FOOD 3/5 Now I don't know how some of the elite reviewers on Yelp gave this food such high ratings, either they have not been to other much better Caribbean restaurants in the GTA or it's their personal preference in taste, but my honest review is far off from theirs for several reasons. Oxtail was by far the best of my meal however being the best does not mean it was fabulous, I must say it was extremely tender very well cooked fall of the bone, but it lacked flavor and those fabulous Caribbean/Jamaican spices, the best way I can describe it, is the oxtail it was on the bland side compared the way oxtail is usually prepared the Jamaican way full of spiciness and some heat. So average at best as far as flavor. Macaroni Salad, it's funny seems like the other reviewers really like this macaroni and it was probably the item I was really looking forward to eating, but it was a huge disappointment. The reason! It's super sweet! and by super sweet, I mean like desert-level sweet loaded with sugar. I like my macaroni salad with some sweetness but this was way overboard to the point after a few bites I could not eat the rest and threw it out. Way! Way! too much sugar, It's very refreshing and a great recipe if they removed 90% of the sugar it would be perfect. Not sure how anyone really enjoys this level of sugar in a cold macaroni salad it's too much! Rice I also did not like the white rice it was sticky and on almost soggy and probably overcooked for it to be this way, not a nice loose rice Coleslaw was also not good at all. The cabbage was minced so finely that it had zero crunch, and because of this reason it seemed like the vinegar had almost cooked it to a mooch with no crunch and not fresh tasting at all, it could have been fresh but the prep destroyed the final outcome ...I do not recommend this coleslaw at all. Service 5/5 I must say their service was top notch the people were very friendly and attentive and the place was spotlessly clean even with 3 people picking up their food there I was served in 5 minutes and out the door with my food, great service! Would I go back to this place, probably not there are several other options in the area that are superb in comparison to this restaurant, but hey you might have a different opinion again these are the only dishes I tried. read more

Upon first entering I noticed how nice the decor was & that was a plus. Wanda was present along with two other individuals serving food, one of which seemed to have an attitude & that's usually a good sign when it comes to Jamaican restaurants so I've been told. But it's time we change that stereotype! Serve the food with joy! That was probably my only critique. I had the jerk chicken dinner with rice & peas & Wanda's famous macaroni salad which was REALLY good. The oxtail gravy wasn't greasy at all either, which was a huge plus! The $6.99 "Lunch Special" definitely got me through the door. The taste will bring me back to try other ideas from the menu...or just go back for the Special! The Special comes with your choice of BBQ/Jerk/Fried Chicken + Peas & Rice + Coleslaw/Macaroni Salad. I got the salad as per the other reviews. It was creamy, a bit on the sweet/a tad spicy side. The tables were removed, but the interior seemed clean. Lady who was behind the counter seemed accommodating, friendly. At a quick glance, menu prices seemed more reasonable than other Caribbean restaurants in the City! Throughout this pandemic, I've realised that there needs to be MORE independent places with good food offerings like this. read more

Okay, so after having a chance to try Wanda's again I am pleased to change my rating. You must try the jerk pork. It made all the difference for me. Crispy and lean on some pieces and others fatty and juicy. Absolutely delicious and brings me back to my last trip to the islands. Served over rice with macaroni and coleslaw? That is a good meal. Got some takeout to try the restaurant. Had the $6.99 lunch Jerk chicken and a medium goat curry. The person served me filled the container with rice and provided a nice portion of curry with sauce on to the rice. The lunch special was 1 thigh/drumstick, and they both came with a salad. I chose the Mac salad (from the recommendations of yelpers) and it was fresh from the back kitchen. Both dishes were great. The curry had amazing flavor (the goat was the winner) and the rice was not an afterthought, it was also tasty. The macaroni salad was well worth the short wait to get it. I'd like to go back to try the roti and oxtail. One of the owners came out after and was really friendly. Do yourself a favor and have some delicious food! read more

It's hard to find an amazing Caribbean place in Mississauga south. I would say this place is decent. The oxtail is tender, however, does lack spices or a kick. The macaroni salad is good but on the sweet side, if that's your vibe. Overall, it's worth a try. read more

Service with a smile! The food was beyond my expectations. I had the chicken roti and it was jam packed with delicious curried chicken and potatoes. There was more chicken than potatoes! They use a dhalpouri wrap which is my favorite roti wrap. Will definitely be back! read more

Buddy and l went to Sauga coz we had to get haircut. Coming from Scarborough it's far away but it's been almost a month since my last cut. He kept promising me that he's gonna take me to this Caribbean restaurant. He kept saying how it's the best he had in awhile. He mentioned how the Macaroni salad is the best he's ever had. I hate macaroni salad, I have never had a good macaroni salad ever so I stay away from it. The restaurant is basically a year old this month, has to be the cleanest restaurant I have ever been to. Covid safety in effect and very welcoming and friendly staff. Now about the food, I ordered boneless jerk chicken and oxtail. They put enough oxtail gravy and we actually did not have to pay extra. So they put the macaroni with the entree. I killed this meal, not one grain of rice left. The best macaroni ever, when I go back I'm ordering a large size of just this macaroni. The chicken was very tender but the reason why I didn't give it 5 star is because the rice wasn't as fluffy, the gravy saved the rice. But the Macaroni made this review 4 stars. They need to open one in Scarborough. This would be my go to Caribbean restaurant. read more

Hidden gem in Clarkson. One of the best jerk chickens I've ever had. And the macaroni salad is also incredible!! Wanda is super lovely! I've eaten here plenty of time now. My boyfriend also really loves the oxtail. read more
