Wanda's was referred by my AirBnB host. She stops serving breakfast at 11 and was out of biscuits by the time I called. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled w/ cheese, bacon & 2 pancakes. Being a woman of color, I always order to-go when I'm in a new town or/and in the mountains until I can get a feel of the place. Especially when there are confederate flags within a stone's throw of my Airbnb, which is usually the case.. There were several rebel flags decorating the tombstones in the cemetery adjacent to a nearby church. On a side note, I later saw a masked man driving a tractor pulling a trailer of costumed kids through the same cemetery. Halloween was two weeks away mind you... I also saw some literal chickens crossing the road. But that's for another day! Any hoo, when I arrived not surprisingly there were no patrons (or staff) of color and the tv was on Fox News. The cashier was friendly. She told me the total was $9.34 and asked if I wanted to "add a tip." Bold move. The food was lukewarm but good! The pancakes were light in color, dense and tasted homemade. The syrup was made of sugar (not high fructose corn syrup) which is a miracle from on high! The cheese eggs didn't need seasoning & the bacon was expectedly greasy. But I needed protein, don't judge me! They even threw in sausage patties which I (may have been charged for) didn't get to try. Wanda's allegedly opens at 6 so I was determined to get their early the next morning to try the infamous sausage biscuits I'd been dreaming of. I called incessantly but there was no answer & no voicemail. I checked the to-go menu, no business hours were posted. Finally I asked Google which said Wanda's is closed on Sundays. Yelp disagrees but who can you really trust? SMILES - home-cooked food, decent prices, friendly cashier. FROWNS - no business hours on the menu I'd recommend Wanda's for breakfast at least and return again. Get there early before the biscuits run out! read more

Cute country atmosphere with the sweetest and most attentive staff that treats you like family when you walk through the door. There's enough food in one meal to make two meals. I ordered the Bacon and Egg plate (one egg) with a biscuit and gravy side. I ended up being a huge portion of eggs with 2 slices of bacon and two biscuits with sausage gravy. They make sure you don't leave hungry! It was all sooooo good. Can't wait to visit again. read more

If you want great food Wanda's has it but from the service we had today I'll never go back unfortunately we were unable to take our leftovers with us or order a to go order for the folks at home due to the waitress no being attentive it seems as if the servers of this establishment only care about there regular customers and if that is the case it's very sad because they do have good food but our waitress didn't even offer to come refill our drinks or bring us to go boxes. If I was to give Wanda's a grade they would probably receive an A+ in food quality and an F in service. read more

Food is always great! That being said, it isn't a place you'd go if trying to eat healthier, does not have the healthiest options (Turkey bacon, spinach, mushrooms). Saturday mornings are busy, however, the staff pulls together to get tables cleaned as quick as possible and you served. Nice "home" feel. read more

Stopped here while on a MC road trip for breakfast and glad I did. It was on a four lane and missed it so had to turn around. Has it's own parking lot and is obviously a local favorite. Typical "Mom and Pop" type place. I had the eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and potatoes with coffee and it was quite a bit of food. I originally asked for hash browns and the waitress told me they are like McDonald's and recommended the cut potatoes instead and they were excellent! Not much to say about the place except great home style cooking with a friendly staff. I will definitely come again if in the area. 4++ read more

Great food and a different t menu each day. Much better than a similar restaurant down the road. Love their deserts too!

The food is delicious. It's your typical American food -- hamburgers, French fries, tuna sandwiches, meatloaf, etc.... The service is great. There's all tables and also "bar" seating. Not a whole lot of room if you have a walker or wheelchair. That's the only downside. read more

Stopped in to Wanda's for the first time the other day and had some breakfast. The meal was great and very affordable and the service was friendly. I had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit a side of oatmeal and a coffee and around me just over $4. read more

We were passing through and had a very yummy breakfast here. Everything - from the omelet to the biscuits - was delicious and home made. Service was good, and the decor was inviting. We will definitely keep this place in mind if we are ever in the area again. read more

Good service. Food is hit or miss. My patty melt was salty, my husband's Mac and cheese could have been better. He said the best part was his cottage cheese and peaches. Our daughter's grilled cheese was great though. read more

Wanda's restaurant is an oasis of great food and very friendly staff in a sea of pizza joints on the way to Chickamauga battlefield from the Atlanta area. My pulled pork sandwich was unbelievably tasty while my friend's chicken strips were also very good. The corn on the cobb- very, very good. The wait staff were friendly and helpful- refilled drinks without asking. Overall an excellent choice for a meal. read more

There are not enough down home restaurants left and I find it important to patronize the great ones every opportunity you have! I placed a to-go order about 30 minutes before closing. When I arrived, the server kept her eyes trained on the tv behind me during our entire encounter, and told me to go get my food from the table it was waiting on, not even being kept warm. I had ordered 4 plates, including a wide variety of dishes. Everything was very bland. The worst dish was the mac and cheese. It had no flavor whatsoever. I don't know if my bad food was due to the fact that it was almost closing time, so nothing was fresh, or if the food there just simply isn't good. However, there is no excuse for the horrible service I received. read more

every time we have gone here it's just been bad. cold food and bad tasting. also the wait staff has lots to be desired. will not go back!
