Instead of visiting my regular primary care physician, I elected to see a nurse practitioner. This was a big mistake. The purpose of my visit was to receive a six month review of my current medications. My normal co-pay went from 5.00 to 76.00. I learned from my insurance company that my visit was coded as an emergency appointment. According to the treatment received, I had several diagnostic tests. This was not the case. In addition, the information submitted to my insurance company includes ruining a high fever, severe cough and headache. The information was submitted to misled the insurance company and jack up the co-pay. This was a blatant attempt to commit fraud.

I saw Jasmin Jacobs for a private medical concern. Without performing any formal testing, she confidently told me my symptoms pointed to a lifelong condition that I would simply have to manage. I became emotional, and her response was to recommend that I restart my anxiety medication. I left the appointment in tears. I sought a second opinion, and another doctor determined I simply had an infection. After two weeks of treatment, all of my symptoms were gone, and they have never returned. I understand that providers can make mistakes, but being told I had a lifelong condition without appropriate testing caused me unnecessary fear and emotional distress. I hope future patients receive a more thorough evaluation before being given such a serious diagnosis.

It was not lunchtime. The call went straight to voicemail. I called again several times, waiting several minutes between each call, and the same thing happened. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see the doctor and had to go to Urgent Care. I had actually wanted to make Dr. Albritton my PCP from a while back, due to the positive reviews of the doctor herself. I was in the process of officially making her my PCP with my insurance when this happened. How incompetent can this staff be? No matter how superb of a provider Dr. Tiffany Albritton is, she is destroyed by the sheer nonexistence of her staff. If they do exist, they should be replaced with staff members who actually pick up the phone during business hours. If they don't exist at a certain point, fine. But for them to be absent for the whole duration of the period I incessantly called? I don't understand why any doctor would want to surround herself by staff that do nothing but bring her and her image down and create an aura of frustration and disappointment among her patients.

Their office entrance is different from the other business, though. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by a rude receptionist (I can't remember her name). She was very short with me, and was unhappy when I didn't completely fill out all my new patient paperwork. I told her that I filled out the form that they sent me via e-mail, and that their office did not tell me to fill out any additional paperwork before coming in. Regardless, she still made it seem like it was my fault. Anyway, when I finally met my PCP, Dr. Luu, it was a complete 180. She was super nice and understanding. She also explained all the tests that I would be having and why I needed them. She also told me what diagnostic/lab tests that I was up to date with, and those I had to schedule an appointment with her for soon. I really like this doctor. So the moral of the story is: 5 Stars for Dr. Luu 2 Stars for the rude receptionist = 3 Stars Overall Hopefully, they fix her rude behavior. I really want to keep coming here.

Instead of answering the question, she actually defensively commented about something "not being her rule" (?). No one asked her about a rule or anything of the sort. It is unbelievable to me how stark the contrast is between her behavior and my usual interactions with Methodist. I have always felt valued as a patient, until now. I arrived 45 minutes early yet I was not seen until 15 minutes after my appointment. While the waiting room is very spacious and clean, I do not see a reason for such a long wait as the office was not very crowded with patients. I was attended to by a nurse who was very nice and skilled with using their very old and outdated equipment. While it was impressive that she was able to use that kind of equipment, the measurements were not the most accurate. There must be some disorganization because some of my measurements were recorded inaccurately in the report at the end of my visit. I saw Dr. Ana Corteguera, who my parents also usually see. As a first time patient, I expected her to spend some time hearing my medical history but she rushed me through the entire visit. I felt as though she did not really care about my problems and just wanted to get me in and out of there was fast as possible. In fact, I even forgot to talk about something I had been meaning to ask a doctor because of that. Furthermore, instead of discussing treatment and testing options with me, she just chose the one that was the most convenient for her, which of course, happened to be the most expensive costing one for me. All in all, I think that this office can certainly improve its efficiency and if you had to visit this branch, I would recommend seeing someone else besides Dr. Corteguera.

As a healthy individual without diabetes, I am determined to resolve this issue. I chose Dr. Sanders as my surgeon because, despite residing in California and working as an ER nurse at the Veterans Affairs, I made the trip back to Houston for this procedure. My past experiences have shown me that he possesses the expertise to address and correct the deformities in my toes effectively. If I had to rate Dr. Sanders on a scale from 0 to 5, where 5 signifies excellence, and 0 signifies poor quality, I would wholeheartedly give him a 5. The decision to travel from California to Houston for this procedure was worthwhile. The quality of care during the procedure was outstanding, and the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Clinic staff were incredibly proactive, guiding me through all the necessary paperwork and requirements. Moreover, the communication I received before and after the surgery was exceptional, making my entire experience seamless and reassuring.

Obviously, I like her or I would have bailed long ago. Yesterday, after 5pm, I realized I likely had either a kidney infection or a UTI. As they were already closed for the day, I decided I would stop by first thing this morning and see if they could work me in. I was told by the girl at the front desk that there would be an extra $25 charge for being a walk in. A walk in?! I've been a patient for years! Is this any way to treat your loyal patients?! I could understand if I was some random person off the street, but I have been a loyal patient for over a decade! Why in the world would I pay YOU extra to wait?! I decided to spend my copay elsewhere and went down the street to HEB RediClinic where I was seen immediately, no waiting, no extra charge, and no bad attitude. When next I have an appointment with Dr. Truong, I will bring this issue to her attention. Her response will determine if I stay a patient or take my business elsewhere. Honestly, there are too many other choices out there to put up with sub par treatment.
