I've been coming here for my eye exams for many years, and the only reason I come to this location is for Dr. Hanlon. I absolutely love this man -- great person and great eye doctor. You will not be rushed. Everything that needs to be done for your exam gets done, and they have all the latest machines and equipment. The rest of the office staff is always great as well.

I called them, they made the return process easy and that's where the nightmare began. I tried getting the correct size/pair and they told me that they weren't made, only non prescription in that size? Then I asked for a refund (7-10 business days) and it took about 20 days to get my refund. I went to LensCrafters on Rte 18, got EXCELLENT service from start to finish and got both pairs (the size I wanted all along) in just over a wk. This is my second time dealing w a LC location and it was outstanding in every way both times, I'll just go there in the future, it's a no brainer!

I have been coming here about three or four years. And last year I finally gave up going to my "regular " optometrist in addition. I feel like I get a better exam and the doctor amazingly enough actually knows my history. And I don't care if it's a great memory or if he actually took the time just to read through my chart before I walked in. Most doctors do not do that. And I would like to shout out specifically , Michelle who helped me with my glasses and is so sweet , friendly , extremely knowledgeable... Just fantastic. If you are considering going someplace for your eye exam or need new glasses , I would definitely go and check out the Holmdel location. Also , if you don't have eye coverage , definitely go there. Despite having a 9:30 appointment and being the only customer in the store, I was asked, "How can I help you?", which gave the impression that I had walked in by mistake. Family has been to this location and the Howell location, it just depends on what appointment dates are available. Eye tests are pretty streamlined and they have many options are far as frame choices. I am rather simple when it comes to my eyeglass frames, so I can easily find frames well under the expected budget. Staff has always been helpful and glasses are ready within the timeframe provided. I am not here often enough to get to know anyone on a level other than acquaintance.

Dr Borchers is very thorough --always ask about your lifestyle explains things thoroughly... I can't say enough about his professional manner, knowledge, and putting it together with your lifestyle, needless to say I am very pleased. We have a moved at least 40 minutes away from his practice and continue to be his patients and travel to his office because we are so pleased! I hadn't seen him for two years do you do to my own nonstop schedule but I had an urgent question ... Nevertheless he responded to me immediately . I was very impressed and extremely grateful... This trip was no different while I waited for the rep to finish up with a customer. After about 15 minutes waiting without being acknowledged I decided to leave & return later as I had other errands in the area. That being said, when I returned the gentlemen was free and was more than happy to make the repair needs, free of charge. The optical department appears to be an add on and not really part of BJs. You can get an eye exam but you would benefit with an appointment. They do have a decent selection of glasses.

In a few months, they'll be moving to a new location, downtown Freehold near the American hotel. The store has wonderful and caring people will who are able to recommend to you the best looking eyewear within your budget. I am a collector of eyewear. I often literally coordinate my eyewear to my fashion. They make it affordable because they run specials. So they run specials, are they smooth sales people? Unequivocally, the answer is no. Several times I've looked at expensive glasses and if it doesn't look right, they'll tell you. Sometimes they sell me the more moderately priced frames. Who's ever heard of an honest sales person? The one time I go here they decided to charge me almost double what my copay is. I brought it up to the guy at the desk and he said "that's what we charge here." Um what? That's not how that works. Then he said "the full price of this visit is x amount of dollars, so you're still doing pretty good." Yea I'm good with going to a different doctor.
