We initially hired The Stone Studio to replace tile and flooring in our master bathroom. However,…read morethere were quite a few tasks we kept adding (painting, electrical, cabinets for a craft room, tiles for guest bath, etc). Dave and Mike were very accommodating. They performed all jobs professionally, honestly, courteously, and timely. We are so happy with every aspect of the work performed. We would recommend the Stone Studio to anyone wanting upgrades in their home. Tony & Lourdes

We recently hired Stone Studio to install a new kitchen sink and granite countertops. We were…read moredisappointed in the workmanship as well as customer service. Here are the major issues: 1) The measuring and/or cutting for the kitchen desktop was off (too long). Instead of having the slab trimmed, the installers forced it into place & punched a long hole through the wall's sheetrock. Stone Studio resolved this by providing a granite backsplash around the desktop to hide the hole. 2) The strip of granite between the wall and the hole for the sink is too narrow. We had expressed concern about this when selecting our sink & were assured by David (co-owner) that the sink we were considering would fit with absolutely no problem. Our faucet fit only by rigging it with extra parts sold at Home Depot, but the faucet base still scrapes the backsplash. Having researched faucet measurements online, it is clear that we will have extreme difficulty finding another faucet that will fit when this one needs to be replaced. We were told that Stone Studio considers this a successful installation. 3) After installation a crack was discovered in the new sink. It is not Stone Studio's procedure to open & visually inspect a sink prior to installation. It took about 45 minutes to contact David (co-owner), at which point he said he would try to find another sink the next day. Late the next day, a Thursday, we received an email saying one would have to be ordered. A full week after the initial installation, they finally had a new sink to install. If we hadn't done the plumbing ourselves we would have had to pay plumbers for multiple trips. Instead we had to install, remove and reinstall the faucet on our own time to make our kitchen functional. 4) The overhang on the counter side with kitchen stools is longer than the Stone Studio contract (and online resources) recommend without brackets; it was intended to be within guidelines but was measured/cut incorrectly. Justin (co-owner) said that it was close enough & will probably be fine with normal use; no remedy was made. We had to buy and install brackets to ensure the overhang doesn't break off. Our disappointment in customer service stems from a lack of urgency to address problems, lack of concern about the inconvenience caused, and resistance to acknowledge most of the problems. It was only as the final payment came due on the last day of the job that either owner apologized for "any inconveniences" or "hiccups" that had occurred.

I have used Excel Plumbing past decade and trust who they trust. They offered up Solid State Tile and gave me their number. I glanced at Yelp before calling and it was the week of Christmas. Owner came out next day to look, we were with his tile person next day, and on the schedule that week. We picked out tile and the hardest part is waiting for that to arrive. With the holidays it was a wait. Once the materials were in they got us on the schedule within a week. Process is professional and different people come to do different things. They have a great foreman that sets everything up. Demo Crew, membrane crew, tile crew, and drywall guy. All of the people at my house representing this company were great. Tile is expensive, I understand more what drives the price after seeing the process. We only chose to replace the floor and had to go a foot up all around. Tile company they had us work with helped keep us near budget and match up the new tile to matches the old tile in our 20 year old house. So in the pics they did everything on the floor and the beautiful stripe. Wife loves new drain. Hate to have a leak but new one came with lifetime guarantee. I would definitely recommend this company. Work was top notch. They were easy to communicate with and responded to all my calls, texts or emails.

Solid State tile did a wonderful job replacing the rotted wood and then put down a lovely ceramic tile. They did a great job and it was done quickly and professionally. It was a hard job for them to have to move all of the big appliances and cabinets but they did it well. When it was done everything was back in place and new floor looks great!

Had some water damage in my home in early 2017. Needed upstairs and downstairs hallways hardwoods…read morereplaced and ceramic tile in a spare bathroom. Also wanted carpet laid in one room and the stairs reupholstered. Was referred to J.O. Morris at Totally Floored by my contractor. J.O. Came out very quickly to measure after our disaster crew had removed the old flooring. The only issue I have with his estimate was the fact that he put down no square footage. This was an alarm to me but I proceeded anyway because he was recommended by my contractor, who I trust. I will say it is very hard to get ahold of anyone at this business. Often you have to call multiple times or wait days for a call back. The lady that works in the office is super unfriendly and unhelpful. After a second visit and meeting with J.O. we had our flooring picked and a date of install set. Tile in spare bathroom, hardwood flooring in upstairs and downstairs hallways, and lay carpet in the formal dining and upholster the stairs (I already had the carpet and pad from a previous job). On the day of the job, the contractors showed up 45 minutes late. To me, this is unacceptable to start out. They showed up in an old Ford Explorer with a bunch of flooring shoved in the back. One spoke English, one did not grasp it so well, both in their twenties. I seriously doubt these guys were legit contractors . I felt like I had been part of a bait and switch. They came in the house to check out the job and get ready to set up. When I mentioned laying the carpet, the guy replied that they did not lay carpet. The guy said that another crew would come to do the carpet most likely. This didn't seem right to me, because it's rare for two crews to be late on the same job. At this point I was very unhappy, I had removed the carpet already and had the new carpet ready to be in rolled and cut. I called J.O., no answer. I called the office at Totally Floored, no answer. After calling multiple times someone at the office answered. I told her the issue and she says, "Call J.O." . I informed her I already had and he did not answer, she got really rude with me. After I got off the phone I decided it didn't feel right and that I wanted my flooring done right so I decided to cancel the job. I called the Office back and informed them of my decision. After cancelling the job, J.O. called me back pretty quickly. He said he had not written the carpet down, so essentially he forgot. All in all this was an epic waste of time and effort on my part, I had everything ready, all they had to do was show up in a timely manner and do the job that was agreed upon to be done. This company is very fly by the seat of their pants, rush you out the door when you're in their showroom, and clearly they don't write stuff down (no sq footage on estimate, did not write down that I was getting carpet put down), not somebody I want to do business with.

This company worked as a subcontractor to completely tear up and replace the hardwood floors in my…read morehouse, as well as to install a tile backsplash in my kitchen. On numerous occasions, crews failed to show up as scheduled and failed to contact us or the contractor on those occasions. After several MONTHS, their work has finally been completed. They installed defective floor boards, some of which had to be cut out and replaced, and others that needed to be puttied in order to smooth over the rough edges. Initially, they did not have enough flooring to cover the job, so we also had to wait (more) extra time to get the flooring installed. The backsplash tiles are level, but are pushed in at different "thicknesses" from the wall, creating an uneven appearance. Additionally, they never cleaned up after they completed any work. I would not only fail to recommend this company, I would advise people to run in the opposite direction.
