This review is long overdue. We purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator from Lowe's in Paris, TN and had issues from day one. Frigidaire set us up with Sears Home Service to begin with. For an entire year (full length of manufacturers warranty) they could not fix the excessively loud grinding/ squealing noise that the icemaker made. They kept moving appointment dates out month by month on the night before our appointment until finally Frigidaire told me to call Ward Elkins Inc. out of Murray, KY and tell them that Frigidaire could not repair our refrigerator. Jorge came and replaced our icemaker and it worked for a couple of weeks then started making the same loud noise again. When I called them about the problem Jorge was quick to respond again. I'm not sure if it was the same icemaker unit that he replaced it with this last time or if he found an alternative but he fixed our problem. It's been 4 months now and it's working perfectly with no loud obnoxious noises. Jorge also educated me on a few things pertaining to our icemaker and using it with well water. Things that we should have been told by Lowe's or Frigidaire. So Ward Elkins Inc repaired a refrigerator that both Frigidaire and Sears Home Service was unable to repair. I would very highly recommend them for appliance repair and if we need any repairs ourselves going forward, then we will be giving Jorge a call. He was friendly, professional and provided a bit of education as well. He fixed what the manufacturer couldn't even fix. read more

Called and the next day they came out figured what was wrong with my dishwasher got the part and two days later it was totally fixed

Our Lowes-bought Frigidaire gas oven has given us fits practically out of the box. Even within the standard warranty, we had numerous electrical issues with the display board. The most urgent problem was at times, we could not turn the range off without turning the breaker off and back on. Our second use of the warranty saw Ward Elkins dispatched. George, our technician, initally came out to access the issue, and stated that both boards were probematic and needed to be replaced. The first time we had the board replaced, that technician (company unknown) made no mention of this. After ordering the two boards, George (and his sidekick; did not get his name!) came back and had it up and running in short order. After a function check, George advised me that we had the wrong orifices for our propane gas source installed in the oven box. I had exchanged the top burner ones with proper versions, but had no idea that the two inside needed swapping, too. No mention of this in the owner's manual or guide that came with the orifice kit I bought. He even said that this issue could have been causing the boards to fail because the heat/flame was too intense inside the oven. So that was a BIG help! I plan on taking care of this issue this week. Big thumbs up to George, his apprentice, and Ward Elkins. Nice to know there is a repair company in Western Kentucky that is attentive and actually shows up! They went out of their way to help me find a heater element for my range. They didn't have it in stock so they found one I could order.

I was so excited to purchase a refurbished Speed Queen set. However. My experience has been quite similar to other review of Chad. And I live almost 3 hours away (one way). I have had to take my HEAVY washer to Murray 3 times and a local repair 2 times. I should have just rolled the dice and bought a unit at a big box store. This machine has flooded and leaked so many times I now also get to purchase a new subfloor and flooring for the utility room along with a new washing machine. Owner never has answers to questions. Owner nor employees will answer phone calls regularly. read more

Today is Feb 19, 2022. I have a Speed Queen washing machine that has been down since 1/28/21. Ward Elkins came out to our house on 2/8/21 to look at the machine. The machine needed a lid lock switch, a new tub, and motor. About 2 months later, the parts came in and Ward Elkins was here to replace them. Once all the parts listed were replaced, the machine would still not work and the problem was due to a bad mother board. A new mother board was ordered and in June of 2021, Ward Elkins was back out here to replace the mother board again, the machine would still not work. More parts were ordered, and in August of 2021, Ward Elkins, showed up again to replace more parts. The parts were replaced but the machine was still throwing an error code and Ward Elkins said they would order more parts. During the time span of August through December, I placed 5-8 calls to Ward Elkins, asking when would my machine be fixed, and what parts were ordered. Two different people answered the phone for Ward Elkins, neither one of these people could answer my questions while I was on the phone with them and always said "I will call you back", they never called back. Finally on December 9, 2021, Ward Elkins send the repair man back out, his response was, "I thought this machine had been fixed", then the repair man told us "The parts from visit in August were never ordered". I called Ward Elkins on February 18, 2022, same response, "I don't know, we will call you back". I left a review on Google, same day as the phone call, the OWNER of Ward Elkins told me to contact Speed Queen....I contacted Speed Queen in August of 2021, Speed Queen told me to contact Ward Elkins, and ask what parts had been ordered, I can't answer Speed Queens questions, because Ward Elkins can't answer the questions over the phone and will not call back. To say I am disgruntled with Ward Elkins is an understatement, I have come to despise Ward Elkins I HAVE LEFT SEVERAL OTHER REVIEWS ON OTHER SITES, THIS IS NOT A "BOT" REVIEW AND THESE REVIEWS WILL BE DELETED ONCE MY MACHINE HAS BEEN REPAIRED OR REPLACED. read more
