First let me say Wards has done both HVAC and plumbing work for me. Their technicians are professional, knowledgeable, very good at what they do. Dec 23,2024 they installed/replaced toliet with standard elongated model comfort height including a thorough check of water shutoff and water supply line, as well as a new wax seal and hardware. Cost was $775.15 Yesterday they installed toliet in my master bathroom with exact same description of work as for my guest bathroom Dec 23,2024. Cost was $1,601.76. They also found i needed new flange at additional $514.02 cost. Total cost was $2,115.78 I will continue to use Wards for future work, I am just highly disappointed in their flat rate process which by comparison with other companies is overpriced and unreasonable. read more

After coming back from Christmas break, we noticed a damp, dank smell in the water heater closet. As best I could discern, there had been something (I thought it was the water heater) leaking for about 2 weeks. I called Ward Plumbing and was given an appointment a few days later. Given that I believed the water heater was the culprit, I told the scheduler what size and capacity water heater I had. The service teach came out and checked the water heater and said it was actually fine but there was a pipe that had metal fittings that was leaking. Either way the water heater was going to need to be removed to repair the pipe and given the age of our unit, I opted to have it replaced with a unit they brought out with them. They cut out the soaked drywall that needed to be replaced and made an appointment for replacing it two weeks later. I did have a cancelled appointment due to the service tech having vehicle trouble when he was coming back to replace the drywall, but I was notified and the appointment was rescheduled for 3 days later. I have found this company to be professional and competent and given the rural area I live in, I value someone competent showing up and doing quality work at my residence. While they might not be the cheapest option for plumbers, I have confidence in the work and their warranty behind said work. read more

Extremely Disappointed with Ward's Service and Communication I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Ward has been so frustrating and unacceptable that I feel compelled to share. I initially contacted them in early April because the AC unit in my property wasn't working. Despite setting multiple appointments, they canceled on me more than once and failed to communicate effectively throughout the process. When someone did finally come out, I was told the issue was due to a filter and some items blocking the unit -- yet during a later visit, I was informed the outdoor unit had not been checked at all during that first appointment. This was concerning and showed a serious lack of thoroughness. In an attempt to prevent future issues, I signed up for a maintenance plan -- which turned out to be a mistake. Every time there was a problem, I had to chase them down. I left messages, was told supervisors or techs would call me back, and they never did. I had appointments canceled without notice, received vague excuses, and spent far too much time trying to get simple answers. Even after multiple requests to speak to someone in charge, no one followed through. I was told repairs could take months depending on parts availability and was offered only a temporary refrigerant top-off or a lengthy nitrogen test that would shut down the system entirely. No clear solutions, just delays and avoidance. As of June 2nd -- after nearly two months of back-and-forth -- I still haven't received a promised call back. This level of service is absolutely unacceptable, especially when dealing with something as essential as air conditioning right when it is started to get very hot in the area. I cannot recommend Ward and have cancelled all future plans with them. Save yourself the time, money, and stress -- look elsewhere. read more

Where do I begin? I was both a business and residential customer of this company for over two years and subscribed to their monthly maintenance plan. During a routine HVAC inspection, they informed me that one or more capacitors needed to be replaced -- a repair quoted at over $600, which already included my member discount and maintenance plan. The technician completed the job in about 12 minutes, but within days we experienced new problems. On their third visit, they said I now needed a new module for another $546. That's when I decided to check the prices myself and discovered the same part online for $117 -- and it only takes about 10 minutes to install. I also looked up the three capacitors they had replaced earlier and found them for around $65 each. That's a markup of roughly 500-600% on parts alone. Two visits $1081.00 When I brought this up to their general manager, Aaron S., and expressed how unreasonable it seemed, he rudely called me a "haggler," said he would refund my money, and told me they would no longer service my account. Granted every company needs to make money, but not take advantage like this. The service technicians themselves were professional and courteous, "sorry guys" but Aaron S'., the General Manager's attitude was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I was hesitant to leave a negative review because of the technicians' good work, but what ultimately drove me to leave a review was the General Manager Aaron S'. behavior. When I asked if the expensive part he wanted me to buy would guarantee to fix my AC, his response was "no guarantee." Needless to say, I reached out to another local company -- Dill's Heating and Air. Austin, their technician, was honest, reliable, and upfront about pricing. His parts cost a little more than what I could find online, which is perfectly fair since every company needs to make a profit -- but not at a 500-600% markup. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue, which turned out to have nothing to do with the part the previous company insisted I needed. When I told the general manager Aaron S. that his attitude was unacceptable, he said it "wouldn't make a difference" if I left a bad review as I shared with him. Well, you're never too big to fail. When I moved to town, I installed two smart thermostats in my two story home. One worked fine, but the other did not. (I had also installed two of the same model thermostats in my home in Florida previously. I was told there would be a "charge". I understand that minimum charges applied and thought nothing of it. The tech arrived,, listened to my brief description and knew exactly what was wrong: a loose wire. He spent five minutes on the repair. I was charge a $100 fee, but I was also charged a $100 minimum service charge. $200 to spend, actually less than 5 minutes, to tighten a overlooked screw. There is not added value to the second charge, they are just taking your money. I will be replacing my unit soon. Because of this, I will not use Ward. read more

My sister had just passed away in 2022. We had two shut off valves in the basement they charged me I believe it was $600 for the two valves. it took about 15 minutes at most. I couldn't believe how expensive they were and I feel like I was ripped off and I probably was. I wouldn't recommend Ward plumbing to anyone. They may get good reviews from some people, but they're not gonna get a good review from me. they charge me that much money for two shut off valves the company is a rip off. Or maybe the two guys that came were stealing money from the company and overcharging in the field. I don't know all I know is that they stiffed me for $600. Said we would get a second opinion and would come back; they didn't. Took the money and ran. Had another service come and IT WAS the control box. They fixed it in 5 minutes. Rating: I recently had a frustrating experience with this plumbing service. I needed my kitchen drain cleaned, and upon contacting them, they informed me that they charge $100 for a plumber to come out and provide a quote. I agreed to the fee, hoping to get an accurate estimate for the work needed. The quote came in high, $525, but I needed my sink unclogged, and I would still owe them $100, so if I managed to get someone else over for cheaper, it could be maybe a savings of $50 after having paid Ward Plumbing $100, and it could take a couple of days until I could get someone else out here, so I reluctantly agreed to the price. After the plumber snaked the pipes he informed me that the drain couldn't be cleared with a snake. Instead, they proposed using hydro-jetting equipment for an additional $835. Had the plumber used a camera initially, he would have known that a different approach was necessary. Essentially, I paid $525 for nothing. What disappoints me the most is the lack of customer satisfaction displayed by this company. If they charge $100 to provide a quote for drain cleaning, or a service fee, they should ensure that they back it up with a comprehensive assessment. Running a camera through the pipes initially would have revealed the need for alternative methods, and I wouldn't have been charged for ineffective snaking. This approach feels shady and dishonest. Moreover, I have concerns about the necessity of hydro-jetting. How can I be sure it is the appropriate solution without a camera inspection? Considering that the cost of hydro-jetting -- through online sources -- runs between $400 and $900, $1325 seems exorbitant. I understand that services come with a price, and I'm not asking for a free job. However, if a company charges $100 for a quote to clean a drain, I expect them to deliver on their promises. A thorough assessment and understanding of the issue should be part of that quote. Unfortunately, this was not the case here. Overall, I'm highly dissatisfied with this plumbing service. The lack of transparency, inflated pricing, and failure to provide an accurate assessment has left me questioning their integrity. I am now skeptical that I will end up paying $1325 for a job that might not solve the problem. Not to mention the plumber left without putting anything back under the sink, so I had a mess to clean up. With all of the good reviews they have received make me wonder if this one plumber is an outlier. I did my homework (or I thought I did). 5 star reviews, A+ rating from the BBB. 47 years in business...sounds like a reputable company. One you can trust. WRONG! I called Ward Plumbing to schedule an appointment. I said my bathroom spigots were leaking and I needed to have the cartridges replaced. The lady asked "you want new fixtures?". No I just need the cartridges replaced. She explained they would come out and do a diagnostic for $99 and then they would write up an estimate. I asked what their hourly rate was. She would not give it to me. That should have been a red flag. I pressed on these mentioning my experience in Orlando was $85 per hour plus parts. I asked her about the parts and she assured me they had fully stocked trucks. I did not want to pay for a second trip. I scheduled the appointment. The day before I got a text and a confirmation phone call confirming my appoimtment between 8 am and I pm. A 5 hour window! Glad I am retired and can wait all day. The 2 plumbers arrived at 12:45. Very professional and friendly. I explained what was wrong. They did their diagnostic and concurred. 6 cartridge replacements. They did not have the parts on the truck. They would need to run to Lowes. They estimated about 1 1/2 hours. They asked where my hot water heater was. They said the office wants them to take puctures for future reference. I said I did not need a hot water heater. I had all my hot water heater infomation. They put all the information into the tablet. Geand total to replace 6 cartridges (a very simple job...only requires an allen wrench, no crawling under a house,just stand there at the sink) ...$842!!! I questioned them. They said their hourly rate is $350 per hour!!! I thanked them. Paud the $99 plus tax and said they would not be doing the work. They were very understanding. I have no issue with the plumbers. They were professional and very nice. I do take exception to the price gouging by WARD Plumbing. I wrote a review on their website and within minutes I had a call from manager. He wanted to make it right. He said he would return my check and I said he could but I am not taking down the review. He said they stand by their pricing. I then received their marketing letter, "Welcoming me to the family..." They came out once for routine preventive maintenance, but did not clean or replace any filters... They promised to call me in 6 months with a reminder for the next maintenance check. Never heard from them again. I admit I forgot to call them, but their promise to call removed it from my radar. Now the contract period has expired. I changed the filters myself on both units - not a big deal, but part of the preventive maintenance contract. I did not receive the services I paid for and was promised. The service personnel were fine. read more

I was quoted $90 to change out a Kohler cartridge. When the techs arrived they said the job was supposed to be for a faucet cartridge and not an in-wall cartridge. I told them that I explained to the phone agent that it was a Kohler in-wall cartridge and that I ordered it from Kohler so there are no materials needed. The agent said that the owner instructed them to charge $387 to change out in-wall cartridges. I sent them on their way and told them I would find someone reasonable. RIDICULOUS...BEWARE! read more

I used Ward to service a Trane furnace that they had installed ten years earlier on a remote property (with no cell coverage). Of the four service visits, the first addressed some obvious problems. The second service visit was scheduled for the first thing in the AM, but when they hadn't arrived by 11 AM, I gave up and left. When I got to cell coverage, I notified the service rep that I was leaving. But they still sent a truck out to the location later in the afternoon and tried to charge me $200 for their missed appt. The 3rd visit encountered problems that they could not solve, but they proposed ordering additional parts. As of 3PM today, they never showed up for the 4th service visit, scheduled for between 10 to 12 AM. Fortunately the contractor who I had hired to oversee the repair (and who had scheduled the appt) was able to resolve the problem and get the furnace running without additional parts! So, no integrity and no competence at Ward. Find another service provider or avoid Trane products. read more

We used Ward to install our HVAC unit and our split. While they were really nice folks the installation did not go smoothly nor was the work very good for either install. It took 2 full days to install the HVAC. They came out twice to redo the install on the split and it still was shoddy work. We had to have someone else work on it so it didn't look so awful. We were told we would get a discount on the work but that never happened. Probably wouldn't use them again or recommend them. read more
