First let me say Wards has done both HVAC and plumbing work for me. Their technicians are…read moreprofessional, knowledgeable, very good at what they do. Dec 23,2024 they installed/replaced toliet with standard elongated model comfort height including a thorough check of water shutoff and water supply line, as well as a new wax seal and hardware. Cost was $775.15 Yesterday they installed toliet in my master bathroom with exact same description of work as for my guest bathroom Dec 23,2024. Cost was $1,601.76. They also found i needed new flange at additional $514.02 cost. Total cost was $2,115.78 I will continue to use Wards for future work, I am just highly disappointed in their flat rate process which by comparison with other companies is overpriced and unreasonable.

After coming back from Christmas break, we noticed a damp, dank smell in the water heater closet…read more As best I could discern, there had been something (I thought it was the water heater) leaking for about 2 weeks. I called Ward Plumbing and was given an appointment a few days later. Given that I believed the water heater was the culprit, I told the scheduler what size and capacity water heater I had. The service teach came out and checked the water heater and said it was actually fine but there was a pipe that had metal fittings that was leaking. Either way the water heater was going to need to be removed to repair the pipe and given the age of our unit, I opted to have it replaced with a unit they brought out with them. They cut out the soaked drywall that needed to be replaced and made an appointment for replacing it two weeks later. I did have a cancelled appointment due to the service tech having vehicle trouble when he was coming back to replace the drywall, but I was notified and the appointment was rescheduled for 3 days later. I have found this company to be professional and competent and given the rural area I live in, I value someone competent showing up and doing quality work at my residence. While they might not be the cheapest option for plumbers, I have confidence in the work and their warranty behind said work.

When I pay $150 an hour for a service my expectation is that I will receive a recommendation for a solution that will work, I am paying for their expertise. In this case I followed Larry's advice and spent $308 to install a faucet and sink and put in a PVC pipe from the sink to the drainage pipe. I originally planned to install a garbage disposal too. Larry informed me that the outflow drainpipe was too high for the disposal and the sink would not drain properly. Larry said that he could either drill into the concrete wall and lower the drainpipe, which would be very expensive, or we could ditch the disposal, use a shorter drain assembly and it should be fine. Because I couldn't install the disposal, I needed to purchase a new drain assembly to connect to the sink directly instead. Larry was very helpful with this and showed me on Amazon a shorter drain assembly then the one he had with him. He then installed the new faucet and the new PVC piping for the sink's drain but did not tighten it all up so I could adjust it and hook it up to the shorter drain assembly when it arrived. He charged me $308 for his services. Once the piece arrived, we finished connecting the sink ourselves. The drain was indeed too high for the water to flow properly. It also leaked in the connection after the drainpipe that he had installed. I called Larry and explained the situation. His response was that the drain was clogged and he had noticed the clog while he was there and used a screwdriver to get some of the clog out. He told me to use some liquid plumber or snake the drain and blamed me for not moving the drainpipe. To me this just went from bad to worse. I do not understand why he would not unclog a drain he knew was clogged while he was there or at the bare minimum tell me about it. He did not offer to come back and fix the problem and blamed me for not using the more expensive solution, despite his advice and assurance that the solution he charged me $308.00 for would work. At this point I will not be using Above and Below Plumbing ever again and will find someone else to fix the problem.

They charged over $700 for material to put in a toilet and tub. We bought the fixtures ourselves at Lowes. They left the bathroom a mess as well as not cleaning up what they removed outside. Look at photos and see the proof and then to get charged over $10,000. Then I split my head on a nail they left exposed in studs. If I could rate a 0 I would. Would not recommend to plumb an outhouse.

He immediately got mad jerked the invoice back and said now you will have to pay $125 fee for an estimate. They were at my house for 15 minutes and he spent 12 minutes writing up the invoice. No work was done. No tools were brought out. They basically come and talk to us for a couple of minutes and then he spent the rest of time writing up the invoice. This job of replacing a simple 90° PVC connector cost almost nothing and there is hardly any labor involved. Another company quoted me two or three hundred dollars to do this job. Not only did they try to Rob us but they got mad when we wouldn't give them the money. Terrible business. I see why they have a two-star review on Yelp. Hope this helps their grade go down even more because they deserve it.
