You can still pay with cash where there is a cashier, but at times you are going to wait for people with full shopping carts of grocery...they say because of a "coin shortage".... okay maybe, but then just install a coin machine for people to cash in their change and they will get coins that way and also at all times keep a few self checkouts for cash purchases, but DO NOT shut them all down for cash payments! Maybe they are trying to go cashless or working with CC companies to push CC sales?

There's no standard as to who is hired to work as a checker, as Walmart corporate could care less, and wants to dissuade customers from using live people-staffed cashier lines in the first place. The male checker on our line--one of only two or three to be staffed--was so argumentative and hateful that I was concerned for our safety. He had trouble getting the UPC code on a nutrition beverage multipack to read on Walmart's register scanner, so he got an attitude as if it was somehow our fault. (The bar code was present on every individual container!). Then he began twisting the cap tops to move the containers to a different angle, which could easily cause them to open, ruining the product....so we asked him to stop using the cap tops to rotate the containers and just take the product off the order, even though we needed the item. But he initially refused, choosing to start an argument and be insulting, and say that if we didn't like the way he worked his register, "You can go to self-service!" On top of this, he refused to redeem a coupon for merchandise unless it was tied to a credit card, even though the coupon covered the purchase--which surely is not Walmart's policy. (Two managers had to come over and tell him there was no requirement to tie a coupon-covered item to any credit card!). I'm sorry I didn't immediately walk out! This Walmart is not a safe environment to shop in, particularly at night.

By the time the lady had time to answer my question, my order was timed out and I had to start all over. Then my chicken cutlet ssandwich comes with broccoli rabe, but the kiosk suggested I add it and pay more for it. WHAT? The friendly lady came out from behind the counter to help me with the order. Then she asked for my email address and phone numberto complete the order. WHAT? She claimed I HAD TO input my phone number and email address to complete my order - WHAT??I We argued a minute and I said I just want to buy my sandwich which doesn't require giving out my email and phone numbeI. So, I milled aroiund with other confused looking customers waiting for their food. 20 minutes later I got my food and FINALLY left. The food is good but very expensive, the staff is friendly, but I'll never go thru that again. Their bakery is exceptional but they get it from La Dolce Vita Italian bakery in Wescoville, it's a great Italian bakery in Wescoville. Their bread comes from NY and itself is worth the trip there. The frozen section is exceptional as well. Just don't order a sandwich unless you have the day off or like me, are retired!

Great Little Grocery Store…read more As someone who recently moved to the area from Lancaster county, this is a nice piece of home made accessible to me after moving. I love to support small businesses that offer better experiences and products than chains. Don't get me wrong, I shop elsewhere too, but small stores like this will FOREVER have a place in the local market. You can't beat the quality and feel of a little grocery store with a cafe and staff who care about their impact on the community.
