The recovery was a bit rough, but with implants under the muscle that's going to happen. 16 years later, I'm doing great. I didn't go completely crazy in terms of size. I went reasonable and proportional to what I looked like before children. My goal was so that clothing fits me better and more like when I was younger. This doctor achieved that and I'm so grateful. I do not have any visible scars. I had thought I was sagging, but the doctor said no really you are just deflated and we can fix that. I also chose the aftercare where I stay the night at a facility down the hall from his surgical suite. I'm glad I did so since I had three children, and I knew that there was no way I would get any rest at home.

I've experienced complications such as fat necrosis and an ear infection following the procedure. The ear infection was directly related to the permanent suture that was left at the incision site, requiring frequent follow-up visits every 1-2 weeks for removal. These visits were quite painful as no numbing was used. I left the office crying every time. I've had some issues with communication and support from the office. After filing a complaint with the hospital, they recommended that I bring my husband to my next appointment. However, when we arrived, they did not allow him to accompany me into the room. I've never had issues with doctors in the past, but I found Dr. Placik's demeanor with no compassion. Post-op he was extremely rude, mean and dismissive. Based on my experience, I would not recommend him for any procedures and services.

Additionally, the doctor didn't mention the possibility of losing normal eyelid function with my surgery and when I questioned his suggestion for fat graft he minimized my concerns. I was worried about asymmetry and that's what resulted with my surgery. I didn't want the fat graft but the doctor suggested it again and offered it at no charge, huge mistake! Lastly, I went for a cheek-lift and was given a printout for pre and post-op instructions for a facelift since they didn't have one for cheek-lift to give me. He also has a patient coordinator Jill Pearlman who is equally fantastic. They didn't pressure or coerce me or patronize me in any way. I was very, very impressed! The only thing holding me back right now is shitty Bidenomics! It's sad to see how the economy is affecting everything right now, but I will get this done with Dr. Epstein as soon as I can. She was very realistic but also open with me and what I wanted. I always felt taken care of and like I could ask questions. She did a wonderful job addressing my partner's questions too since he would be helping with my aftercare. There was a minor complication that developed preventing my right side from dropping as it should, and Dr. Cobbins was very supportive and proactive about doing a crease revision and I was only charged a partial fee for the anesthesiologist, for the procedure 3 months after my original BA. Dr. Cobbins is approachable, realistic and caring. I had another consultation (NSPS) before deciding on Aesthetic Institue of Chicago and they wanted to charge me more, didn't really listen to me and talked down to me, trying to push me towards an incision style I did not want. I was able to tell Dr. Cobbins what I wanted, she told me what she thought would fit best and I ended up going one size below my maximum. My results are very natural looking but help me finally fill out clothing the way I wanted to. Getting this surgery and having such a supportive surgical team and doctor helped me finally have the confidence I had been searching for over many years. I had several questions for her regarding my heath, and I was told by her that she did not have time to answer any of my questions. But, she did spend over 5 minutes of our visit trying to convince me to get a flu vaccine, even after I declined twice. I would have rather she spent our limited time answering my immediate health concerns as opposed to trying to convince me of getting a vaccine I did not need. My second visit never even happened because she was overbooked and had no time once again. I was very disappointed in the service that was not provided to me as a new at this practice.
