I paid a visit to the store last night. The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming. I have been to retro game stores with really unfriendly staff. This was such a breath of fresh air. He has a pretty great selection. He has a bunch of imports and a lot of different games from multiple systems. He had some bangers like popful mail and CIB Zelda N64. Everything is priced and put in a clear plastic bag. Stickers aren't placed on the game itself. Unlike some bigger stores, the prices are good. I rarely write reviews but I enjoyed my experience so much that I had to write one. 100% I will visit them again. read more

Best video game store in Ohio. Don't know if anything can top this one has all old games not like GameStop with a bunch of new ones this one place only has old games which is perfect for me. I'm really big I'm getting old PS2 games and PS1 games, so this is the spot for anyone that loves old video games. also never really crowded so you can get your stuff and go out and sometimes you can trade in stuff and get a really good deal or you can buy stuff for a good deal. Me and my partner had heard about this store from a YouTube video that documented it, calling it the best game store in all of Ohio, and honestly, I have to agree. Once you enter, you're greeted with the hip sounds of 80's music playing, and you see the shelves and glass cases meticulously organized by platform, more rarer games are placed inside said cases. Plenty of Japanese imports of all kinds, prime material for collectors interested in the odd but innovative and influential Japanese video games. Plenty of artwork, posters and much more also decorate the walls, even rare collectibles appear. As well as this, there are plenty more types of games to peruse: from the PS2 to the PC Engine, the Sega Saturn to Xbox, the Switch to the Famicom. There's plenty of gaming to peruse, and while imports are a distinct focus, there's more than enough here to explore. The staff manning the place was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and very well versed in the games on sale, he was always delightful to talk gaming and collections with. As well as this, there's a lot of gaming related material to explore: soundtracks, gaming magazines, loose manuals, free buttons and much more. And even with the caliber of rare games on sale, they never went into the ludicrously high prices you tend to see from online sellers or various other stores(not a knock on any store, just an unfortunate side effect of the market). This store was well worth our two hour journey to reach, and it was a fantastic experience to get to freely explore an store completely built on obvious passion and enthusiasm for this art form, and I will definitely be returning in the future. If you love games and want a place to check out for something new to add to your collection, I wholeheartedly recommend Warp Zone, it's well worth it. read more

I loved this place until the day I came in to return a game that I bought the day before....the owner and I were kind of cool with each other and he acted like I never bought the games from his store...I literally brought them the next day....He literally said, "I don't sell those games here.." and I'm like, "dude, I was just here yesterday?? What's going on? Here's my receipt..." and he goes, "oh I guess I did sell these games." (They were trash btw, The Getaway on PS2 and Syphon Filter Omega Strain PS2, terrible games btw don't play them! Lol) Man, your store is so awesome, but I hope you don't do that to anyone else. Awesome little, hole-in-the-wall video store with a lot of the hard-to-find classics! Quite a few NES, Sega Genesis, and MegaDrive games. Great prices and lots to choose from. Not to mention, memorabilia is all around the place, and they even have a place to chill and play the games. Excellent place and a great spot to look for those rare games. Every vintage video game and console you can remember and many you never knew existed are proudly on display here. This little store is like a video game museum but you get to take home whatever you can afford to buy. It's way more than the little used game shops you see everywhere. If you're a video game collector, this place is your mecca. If you're not, you're likely to become one after visiting here. Either way, if you were alive in the 80's and 90's, this place is an exciting road trip down Memory Lane, with a u turn at the end and a return trip back, and then maybe another couple times circling the block. There is just every game you can think of and every game system plus everything you need to hook them up and play them. If it isn't there, the owner can probably get it for you. There are game systems in there from before my time that I've never heard of and games and game systems from Japan I never knew existed or games that were never released here. Ever hear of a Megajet or a Vectrex? Remember Sega CD and Neo Geo? There are also all sorts of collectibles like vintage trading cards from the 80's, plushies of game characters, little candy and mints in video game shaped tins, wallets and hats and strategy guides and magazines. There's even a sitting area where you can play any of the games you want. I only wish I was rich enough to buy everything I want in there. It has started me on a journey with these old games. I started with introducing my son to some of my old favorite Genesis games. When we get sick of that I'll trade it in and get an Atari Jaguar, Sega Dreamcast or maybe a Nintendo 64. The owner is a very nice guy and knows everything about these old games. He can answer any questions you might have about games and the industry itself. He can get just about any game ever made if he doesn't already have it in his collection. read more

I'm a bit lucky here, I only live about a mile away from the store, but I think it's worth a much longer drive than that! The atmosphere of the store is really nice. They have their product well displayed, featuring both a large quantity of games for common systems as well as unique and import systems you're not likely to find in other places (and they help you play import games on your current US consoles too). The staff there is both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the products, and it's infectious. I can't tel you how many shooter games (SHMUP, not first person shooter) that I never knew about or gave enough time to that I'm enjoying now. They also have a small lounge area in the back designed to show off games on both old and new consoles, and allow you to test any game they have in the store. The pricing is also a major plus here. The popularity of retro gaming has caused prices to spike compared to where they were even a couple of years ago, but in my trips to the store, I've had a chance to witness how aggressive they are at pricing their products affordably. Their prices are better than eBay, and they're constantly getting new selections in, often directly from Japan, and they are even willing to do a special order if there's something you really want. It makes Warp Zone a better option for searching for something even than looking on eBay from home, not only because you get to touch and feel the product, but it costs less too. The community is quickly becoming more and more interactive over Facebook as well, as they use it to promote new unique items that have come into the store, and it provides a direct way to reach out, ask questions, and find out more about items in the store. Overall, I'm lucky to have such a good video game resource close by, and it's well worth the drive from any part of town. I just stumbled on to Warp Zone by accident. My wife and I were out just bombing around Columbus one rainy day and looking for another place completely. Both of us love video games. While I love video games, my bent is more towards classics. My wife is the hardcore devoted gamer type. New old. Headsets. Special Keyboards the works. So she was as eager as me to get in and look around. We wondered in and I already liked the place. The cat behind the counter was standing there hands in pockets of his hoody talking video games. So very laid back that was cool. I admit I tend to ease drop on conversations that are obviously going on with no expectation of privacy. A few customers were wondering around looking and talking very openly about the games they loved and hated with the guy behind the counter. They even got us involved in the conversation. So a definite point for friendliness and knowledge. Then I began to look around. I soon realized I was surrounded by older systems and games. Refurbished Atari's, Sega Dreamcast's, Sega Genesis, Nintendo's in every form. I even saw a Turbo Graffix I believe behind the counter. My wife was making little squee's of joy as she wandered the PS3, 360, and Wii games. We were both in heaven. Then as I wondered already coming up with a micro-list and on the spot budget for more games I spotted the Imports. I am already a collector...no gamer of old systems. I have most of the originals (hooked up and operating) but there are gaps and they can definitely can fill them. This is already an obsession but easy Imports? My wife has been treated . . .well not so politely in some of the video game stores here in Columbus because of her sex. They seem to have the attitude that girls can't play games. NOT here. The help were really cool with all her questions and she felt comfortable and can't wait to go back. I mean this is a girl that cn hold her own and kick most of my friends butts at shooters. The fact here was another woman that was a regular helped as well. By far this the best video game store I have found so far in Columbus and the surrounding areas. My wife loved the selection and I loved how the inventory has a slant towards older systems. They pack plenty of PS3, 360, and Wii games and systems as well. I think the best complement I can give Warp Zone is this: I've owned and operated a Video game store myself for the last 16 years and Warp Zone is where I go when there's something I need for my own collection. I appreciate that they like to talk to their customers and share their love of video games and collecting with everyone who comes through the door. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The inventory is unique and diverse. They have a great selection of games from all ages and It's the only place I know of where you can find good import games at reasonable prices. I'll try to keep this short. This place is amazing enough to warrant me creating my Yelp account. I collect and play games as my favorite pass-time. This makes WarpZone my favorite place to shop as they have the amazing collector value items as well as plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of carts to just pick up for a retro playthrough. If you're looking for collector's items, give them a try because the drive is more than worth it. -If you're looking for a game from your childhood, check it out! -and if you are looking for an amazing hole-in-the-wall game place with a better collection than "400 sports games and that one copy of Super Mario 64 that has a ripped off sticker" this place will blow your mind with its collection. I've tried visiting every place that opens in the state and claims to even sport last generation games, let alone older, and this place has left me the most satisfied to date. Warp Zone is the best video game store I've ever been to. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful, and the selection is unmatched. I went in just to look at some NES/SNES games and realized I was looking at the biggest selection of Famicom, Super Famicom, Mega Drive, PC engine, etc etc games and systems I've ever seen. They were cleaning an Atari 7800 that looked like it was brand new, and had a 3DO for sale. They had a NES action set still in the box. There's nothing they don't have. I will be back. Often. I love the store it's one of the ones on my list when I look for any vintage game . but notice the word vintage it is a vintage game store so there is not a lot of ps4 or Xbox 1 there is some just don't expect the shelves for the Xbox one and ps4 game like at Target Walmart or Gamestop. but that being said they have a huge selection of Japanese games, retro games, retro consoles and handhelds and handheld games, they also have memorabilia, magazines, Exedra. if you never been there it's definitely one that you should put on your list to stop by especially if you collect games and enjoy playing them. read more

I used to live in Hilliard, up until about 6 months ago, I remember when this place first opened. I figure hmmm warp zone, let me go check it out. I walked in and was totally transported back into my child hood with a mix of todays world. It was amazing! They have a little of everything, awesome pricing and the staff are always friendly and willing to help. I went into total nerdy fangirl mode every time I went in. I know one time I wanted a game really badly it was eating away at my soul since I had beaten 3 of the 4 discs back in the day on a ps1 game and the last disc kept freezing up sooo, he ended up selling it to me discounted just to help me fill this black void and finish my quest that had begun 13 years prior haha. When I go back to hilliard for a visit or a move, I will stop in and continue to support them with my patronage. It really is a place that you're gonna want to spend some money. read more

Lot of nice stuff. Obviously a private collection up for sale with pricing that must be based on "what I think it's worth" values. Most of the stuff could be in better shape. Kinda beat up looking and not very clean...and that's what they're selling. Hard to get to traffic wise and easier not to come back to. Probably won't visit Warp again unless I need something they specifically have with price and condition not being a matter of importance. read more

honestly, a real hole in the wall. I've been to some amazing vintage game stores throughout the US and Japan, but this one was not organized but also dirty. many of the titles I was looking at seemed to have near mint pricing for Japanese imports with damaged boxes. the collector toy selection was abysmal as well with what seemed to be some water damaged packages, still demanding top market dollar for something that could have been marked down much cheaper at a comic con or other collector convention. the worst was coming in to look for a couple out of print PS2 games and seeing they had a stack of discs laying loose on the countertop in a jumbled order. needless to say--they couldn't find it, but I don't think I would have bought it if they could have. this place needs a major cleaning and to be reorganized. they also need to think about what damaged pieces will actually sell for. read more

They have all the stuff from the 90's! Too much to name, just look at the pictures! Yes, some of it is very expensive, I guess it is collectable. The owner is a really cool and genuine guy. Sometimes when I go to game stores the people running them are snobby and pretentious. This is not the case here. I had taken a break from gaming for a while and was just getting back into newer systems, so I was a little apprehensive about not knowing a lot, but the owner was totally cool about giving me suggestions for the PS3 and didn't talk down to me at all about not knowing much about the games available on the PS3. He was super easy to talk to and remembered me from coming in before, even though I'd only been in a few times--this shows he really cares about his customers and not just games. Will be back again. Also, he has fair prices and Japanese stuff that you can't find anywhere locally. The selection of stuff is also impressive and you definitely need to drop by just for the experience if you are a collector or even just a casual gamer. read more

What started as a great idea, a store where you could get retro and import games at affordable prices, has fallen prey to the dollar signs in the eyes. Anything of interest is priced above market value, and even if you purchased a "passport" to discount everything you buy, you'll start finding that a lot of these items are also excluded with "No discounts". Disappointed all around. Would be a 1 star, but sometimes they accidentally price things at a reasonable cost. read more
