I've played a lot of fields across the country, and Warplay is easily in the top 4. In the Northern Virginia area I'd put them at the top. It is well run and games move along so you get plenty of play in your day. They also use a respawn feature in most of their games, which cuts down the incentive to cheat and thus makes the games more fair and fun for all. They have a variety of scenarios they run, and can tailor them to fit your group. They are a bit expensive, so I would definitely use a Groupon or other coupon. The King of the Hill game at the end of the day can be kind of intimidating for new or young players, and is really just a way of using a lot of paint. The paint is costly, so I usually sit that out because I'd as soon save my paint for regular games. I have found that the quality of the reffing can go up and down depending on what teenagers they have working that day or that season. The owners set high standards, but occasionally you will find a ref more interested in talking to friends than running the games. read more

This was a fantastic experience! I went with my wife and three teenagers, 12, 14, 16. We had a great time, the team lead Cole, aka Hawk, was great at getting us involved. The vision for the future of the site sound amazing. We are definitely planning on going back or planning a trip to the area to do another laser tag experience. The weapons are amazing and the stat tracking. photo and video chronicles are worth the price of admission alone. Fun location and friendly staff. Just had my bachelor party here and it was a blast, would definitely recommend!

What a great place. I haven't played in a very long time, but the staff made it easy to get back into (though I found myself out of shape). I went with a private group and the Staff was knowledgeable and very Safety oriented. All briefings were thorough and play moved seamlessly. This place was enjoyable for young and old alike. Four Stars - I went with my two boys and their friend one Saturday morning without reservations. Luckily we got there early enough to get rental equipment. The staff was very friendly and most of all helpful. It was a little on the expensive side, so use a Groupon and you will get your monies worth. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to do something different and do something outdoors. To will come back again and bring more friends with me next time. read more

Went to War Play to do paintball. Unfortunately there was a big group there, so we could not play as there were no more guns. Instead, we were offered laser tag--which is completely not worth it. The guns and headsets did not work well. Almost half of the equipment had problems. Definitely do not play laser tag there with a group! read more

My 2 friends and I went to War Play Paintball this morning and it was a lot of fun. For $35 bucks we feel like it was a steal. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The fields were well-designed with different structures like a bridge and trenches etc. Highly recommended. read more

Awesome refs, they have a respawn rule, they order pizza for you if you want it, but they need to enclose their fields with a a roof, no one wants to get hit by a stray paintball that went over the walls. They also need improvement on the fields, since there are only 3. A little more players would make the games more fun. 6v6 is a little small if you ask me. But overall, a good paintball park. This field is small, But damn do they make good use of their space. They have (last time I was there was 2013) two fields, and they were trying to make an airball field, which I'm sure is finished by now. The first field is dominated by a large fort with an outer and inner wall, and a single floor tower with an outside ramp leading up to it. The outer wall has a single entrance (and a doorway used only for eliminated players to exit safely), the inner wall has two openings. Some areas of the wall is low enough to shoot over, other areas have fire ports. This structure is primarily used for a single flag Attack/Defend in which attackers have 20 minutes to take the flag from the tower back to their spawn. During the game the owners use a mortar to fire expired paint into the air down on the field, its random who it could hit, but I don't think I've seen anyone hit with it, still a cool feature. A typical feature of this field (and most of the time I only see this during big games) is respawns for all of their games. The second field is another Single flag Attack/defend, with respawns. The field is set up like a defensive military compound. Both of the owners are prior Marines and I think that shows in their field design. For their third game mode both fields are combined in a "VIP Extraction" mode. The VIP needs to be taken from the compound to Air Force One (the tower in the center of the fort) to win, only headshots and shots on the vest count against him. My single complaint about this place (which may not be an issue anymore) is that the head ref sometimes plays. During a game a ref approached my wife and without doing a paintcheck said "your out" we wernt even being shot at and the young ref said "i know, but my boss said she hit you, so your out". I would still play here if I hadn't moved, so I cant say if this is still an issue, if it is I'm sure there are creative ways around it. read more

I haven't been to many other paintball fields but this is the best one out of all of them. The refs are exceptional and aware of their surroundings. They are just pretty cool. Once someone unloaded on me with an ego and they gave me a snickers. (I was 10) their fields are well thought out and fun to play on. Go to warplay. read more

I came here with my son maybe a year or better ago, and had an awesome experience. But this time......was terrible. Let me start by saying Emily (I think) was great even though she helped cheat me out of 400 paintballs.It is my son's birthday and I bought a $49 groupon for 4 people to include 100 paintballs each, all gear and air all day. I called 3 numbers to get info on the business hours to confirm what the website had listed, a closing time of 1630 military time (4:30). No one answered either of the three phone numbers. So I went with what the website said, a closing time of 4:30, but when I get there at 2:30, Ryan says the were closing in an hour. When I told him what the website said, he said we got the business from someone else in 2006 and we haven't updated it yet. Okay, whatever, no problem its cold and we drove an hour to get there. Now, as I said earlier the groupon comes with 100 paintballs for each person. Ryan filled 4 approximately 6 to 8 inches canisters with paintballs, gave them to me and I passed them to my son, my son placed all 4 canisters on the table, and we proceeded to get our briefing and equipment. Ryan asked if I wanted to purchase EXTRA paintballs and at first I said no. I changed my mind and decided to pay $25 plus tax, which was to be paid before we leave, for 500 MORE paintballs. We watched him open a new bag of paintballs and pour the contents into each of the 4 guns, and then take our canisters containing the 100 paintballs OFF the table. When I asked for the canisters containing the 100 paintballs that came with the groupon, he stated that he had dispensed all 900 paintballs into the holders of 4 guns. I made him aware that I had opted for EXTRA paintballs and that he DID NOT put 900 paintballs in the 4 guns. IT WAS MY SONS BIRTHDAY AND INSTEAD OF ARGUING I WALKED AWAY, very angry that this kid Ryan had very clearly cheated me in front of my son and his friends who also picked up on the CON. Its a great place, but my advice to anyone going here, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR CANISTERS IN YOUR HANDS, BEFORE YOU ASK TO BUY EXTRA, BECUASE HE WILL CLEARLY CHEAT YOU. read more
