The name is a bit deceptive as I thought it would be bigger. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. There was about 8 children playing on the park, a few dog owners walking their dog, and a family shooting the basketball around on the small half court. You can probably walk the entire strip in about 4 minutes so if you're go a hour long walk, know you'll be going back and forth a few dozen times. What I do like about it is that the grassy area is just all grass and relatively flat. You can lay out. You can do cartwheels. You can play frisbee. But it does feel like as soon as there is 20 people here, it would feel crowded. Plenty of parking in the surrounding neighborhood or on the street.

Technically, its a small plot of land that serves as a public access coastal view point. It's only a four minute walk from the entrance to the bluff. You'll stand atop a steep cliff with amazing views to the ocean and beaches below. This sandy loop also offers info about local flora. Look up for views of birds (particularly the rare Peregrine falcon!) and soaring hang gliders. Areas are roped off for safety reasons - lots of erosion in this area- so you might want to watch the sunset from La Jolla Shores beach instead, just down the street.

All of it was fantastic and the views were breathtaking. The hiking trails are easy in my opinion with some hills or steps on one of them. You can pick what you want to do/from different trails and get out and enjoy the scenery. Of all my things to do in this area, this is one of my favorites for the scenery. I can't recommend it enough!

We had limited time at the reserve, so we entered through the south entrance and paid $20 to enter and park. We then made our way up to the visitor center and had no issues finding parking. During our visit, we did the Guy Fleming Trail, which is a very easy and scenic 0.8-mile loop. The cliff views were dramatic and beautiful, and we also loved that the trail felt very peaceful and quiet. Afterward, we drove down to the beach lot and walked along the beach for about an hour to admire the cliffs from below. Overall, it was an amazing visit and one of our favorite stops in San Diego. I would definitely return again.

The trees stay green most of the year, but the shrubs and grasses during this particular time of the year are lush green with many flowers and such. Rose Creak water shed runs throughout the year, and is especially heavy during the winter months and spring. I viewed many craw-fish and small little fish in the creak and an occasional frog. I did view several wild rabbits along the trails. The canyon, along the creek, is filled with sycamore trees, willows, and oak trees. I learned that Rose Creek runs from I-15 all the way to Mission Bay. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times. It's a cool place to come for a hike.
