He's sexist. Very rough and wants to make you feel bad abt himself. I wouldn't recommend him to ANYONE. Please go to children's hospital and they will refer you to a professional who actually cares abt there job. He makes comments and says he doesn't have time for anything and will jab needles in your mouth. Potentially killing you. Keep in mind this doesn't even numb you. And will try to pull your teeth with you feeling everything. And if you tell him to stop he will smack your hand and will NOT stop. Someone needs to take him to court. staff was also really rude and lady at front desk will ignore you and cuss at you. read more

This is the WORST and most unprofessional dentist I have ever been to. Some of the staff is rude plus they never explain or discuss cost in advance. I was told my portion ( is what I was told at check out) was $600 which I paid on first visit. Second visit no mention of additional fees. Third and final visit I was told I owe an additional $400. Now according to my insurance I paid my portion. So when I questioned what it was for? She was rude and said speak to dentist. He came in I only said apparently I owe another $400, he turned handed me a check for $600 my portion paid. He said I'm not arguing about money, put my partial in his pocket and walked out! When I called back the following Monday about sending money back to insurance she said it's been mailed and hung up on me. DO NOT SEND YOUR WORST ENEMY HERE!!! Went for a possible cavity or extraction. Haven't been to a dentist in a while. No nonsense people, that's fine. From the moment I walked in I was the Problem not my tooth. I just joined Yelp today & have given about 3 reviews in my online life. I'm menopausal but not a Karen. I got in, 30 minutes he comes in and we figure out the plan. He took a phone call while giving me X-rays with a neighbor/colleague about the possibility of a death of a Human Being that had just happened right outside of the Clinic in Johnson City, TN (very bad wreck)....Gave me a mirror and a suction tube & told me to hold the mirror and do my own suction if I needed it. I literally wish I was making this all up. Then.....7 shots to the face at rapid succession without pause, communication and or even a kind word. Basically told me to stop being a Wimp, made a comment about "People that Yell want a pill" I don't do drugs, I don't even drink. I even offered a drug screening right now. Last shot he pulled top lip out so far I winced in pain & sat up a little bit. He actually threw a little tantrum and said "She doesn't want to be helped" and left the room. As tears are streaming down my face kinda uncontrollably everyone walked out. 2 came in about 10 minutes later to pick stuff off the floor. When asked what I did wrong they left. Finally a Lady came in to ask Me if "I want to be helped today" like I just had 7 shots all over my mouth. One went so far on the right my ear drum and lower eyelid was numbed. Pretty sure he pierced my sinus area as well. The last shot he started spraying the medicine before it was in my mouth went on my shirt, the floor and for a split second I swear it grazed my eye lashes. (Real Lashes so it was really close the my actual eye.) I'm 46 years old with a pain tolerance and have had 3 children. 2 Natural.... I'm not a wimp & needles don't bother me. I truly feel a Yelp review isn't going to cut it. I feel he has Physiological Problems, has NO CARE for patients, probably the most unprofessional person I have had to ever encounter period, Gaslighting and Shaming people that We sorta feel bad for the Staff. I had a terrible tooth infection over the holidays and needed a tooth pulled badly. Every dentist I called was either not open till after the 1st of the year or it would be several weeks to a month before they could see me. An acquaintance suggested dr Stimson so I called and got in the next day. I read some of the reviews and was a bit apprehensive. I can tell you that some of those negative reviews are completely undeserved. My experience was good, quick, painless and succesful. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE!!!! This man has no patience or compassion for kids in pain. My 6 yr old child had an abscess and I'm guessing (since there was barely any communication between the doctor and myself) it has to be removed not saved. My child was in so much pain at the time he was crying non stop. The dentist had an attitude from the beginning since my child moved while getting an X-ray. He came in had barely put the gas on my child before he's stabbing two large shots into my child mouth and which on the last one didn't get in it all the way and proceeded to shoot it down my childs throat! And yes I watched all of this! Then he comes back in says his mouth is as numb as it's going to get and then tells me to grab his legs and goes to put the gas on my child again which scared himso the dentist threw it off my childs face and then literally goes in and rips his tooth out! My poor child felt every bit of this. Even his assistant (I'm assuming) looked at him in shocked!I can still hear the screams of my child. This place is a nightmare do not take your children here! His assistant Mike was the only one of his staff who showed any kind of empathy and compassion for my child. read more

I went to Stinson Dental yesterday and I thought I was going to die. I had one tooth pulled and he gave me so many shots that my eye lid was deadened. I asked him how many shots he gave me. His answer was "probably more than you needed". I know he stuck me at least 16 times and each shot hurt worse than the one before it. I was shaking all over by the time I got out of there. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN !!!! He nor his staff are friendly. None of them introduced themselves or even said hello. They called me back told me where to stand for x-ray and what chair to sit in. Then I was told to hold a mirror. He came in the room and said lay back and started with the shots. Then he walked out without saying a word. He came back gave me more shots, pulled the tooth and walked out. Not saying a word to me. His assistant told me that I could go now. The lady at the front was on the phone. She looked at me and said $89.00. I paid her and she handed me a receipt and never looked up from the desk. I don't recommend anyone going here. read more

I just wanted to come on here and say this is the worst place ever. I will keep it professional because unlikes these workers, I have more respect towards others. Today, I went in with my mother to get her tooth extracted. As soon as we walked in, we received stank looks from the workers. When it was time for her teeth to be removed, I'm guessing it was the doctor because no one introduced themselves nor what they're specialized in. He came in the room and told my mother to open her mouth, after that he gave my mother a numbing injection saying he'd be back in ten minutes. After thirty seconds he was back and had these plier looking tools and pulled her teeth out. My mother was trying to tell them to stop but he continued without any hesitation. This is an awful place and I truly hope he gets his license revoked. I do not recommend this place because they didn't even bother giving my mother any type of prescription. Other places treat patients better. Not here though. read more

I had a TRAMAIC UNFORGETTABLE NIGHTMARE with this dentist who should have had his license yanked a long long time ago. Just like he YANKS teeth ....he should have his license YANKED!!!! He is a rude uncaring totally unprofessional person I ever came across in my life. The people that was working with him back then just as rude and unprofessional. Heard him say as he was going from room to room numbing peoples mouths like cattle being brand. Got lots of teeth to pull so I can make that 10000 dollar a month child support payment the ex just hit me with. Got in there to me practically climbed on too of me to hit me with those needles fast and furious in my mouth. Bam bam bam. I told him real quick like....your not yanking NOT even one tooth out of my head to make your child support payment ever!!! He ended up filling a tiny cavity the size of a ball point pen tip. Needless to say 2 days later I was in severe pain. At 2am he did a root canal on me in 10 minutes I kid you not!!! End up 2 days later it was hurting so bad my mom took me to her dentist and he ended up sending me to a professional to get the root canal redone. Which took 2 hours. Come to find out....I had 4 roots coming off that tooth. 2 he killed....the 3rd he only partially killed and the 4th root he completely missed. Needless to say that's why I was in so much pain. That tiny tiny cavity cost me 1600.00 for the professional to redo. Plus the 450.00 he originally charged NOT to mention the FEAR and ANXIETY he gave me after that nightmare he created. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to him. I ended up 15 years later finally going to a dentist who cares about people and takes away that FEAR AND ANXIETY STINSON GAVE ME. His name is DR WOODARD FOUTCH IN RUTLEDGE. THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL....CARING....GENTLE....TAKE THEIR TIME NUMBING THE PATIENT AND EASYING ANY FEAR OR CONCERN YOU WOULD EVER EVEN HAVE. Terrible service. Everyone was absolutely rude. I am Hispanic and to gain my attention I was referred to as mamacita. Not ok. I went in for a tooth ache. I was expecting an extraction and it is what I got. But before that I tried to ask the dentist to tell me what tooth it was, he was already about to inject me with anesthesia before informing me. So I asked him to wait, then he proceeded to yank the bib off me and say waiting is for the waiting room. I then asked him to show me which one it was, he took his pick and stabbed very hard into the hole in my tooth. Why? Because he likes to inflict pain on those who are already in pain. Sick and poor excuse of a "man". Then he used three syringes of anesthesia to stab it into my mouth. He only waited about 1 minute and proceeded to yank my head back and fourth to get the tooth out. I understand it is difficult, but this guy was either in a bad mood, drunk, or on drugs. Because he pulled my tooth like I kicked his dog or something. After that I was given no pain medication. Later to find out it was because he had his permission or license revoked to prescribe pain meds. He was giving them out like tic tacs. Please DO NOT GO HERE! read more
