But in Binghamton, listing apartments on craigslist hasn't caught on. So where does that leave the poor apartment explorer? Up poop's creek. And to be honest, my pride was taking a hit by bringing on a real estate agent. Was I caving in? Giving up? I'm good at finding apartments. I am, damnit! I am. But no. The powers that be demanded a real estate agent. Thus begins our story. We were put in touch with exit realty on a recommendation, and we were given Tom. In many ways, this is more a review of him, rather than the organization. If you're reading this tom, don't worry. I'm not going to be mean. First, to secure his services, we needed to send in the money via cashiers check or money order. I hate it when people and businesses make you do that. Points off! However, when we met him, he was very nice and had a large list of apartments to look at in a single day - 14, I think. That started a pretty good apartment searching day. Some of the places were great, some were awful, some were delighfully tacky (the bathroom with shag carpeting for wallpaper - excellent). But at the end of the day, we found the most amazing apartment we've ever had, and I doubt we would have been able to find it without Tom's help. Searching for apartments with him is like looking for apartments with a drinking buddy. Very casual. He's down to earth. Does not fit your typical mold of a real estate agent. He enjoyed talking about hockey, his son, and gave us an extensive tour of the area. So if you don't have the time to search for an apartment on your own and you're a little nervous about paying for a real estate agent to help you, give Tom a try. We did and emerged very happy from the experience.

There must be some personal beef? I hired Fair Trade Carpentry to do work for me earlier this year. They were polite (in person and on the phone), punctual and professional. They did everything I asked and then some and the standard of work was exceptional. The owner certainly takes a personal pride in the work he does and I couldn't be happier with the results. I have recommended him to all my friends who may need future work done. I'm not sure which part 'jeremy p' found confusing but when I hired Fair Trade Carpentry, the bid I received stated quite clearly at the bottom that work would not commence until I had signed and returned it. I've noticed lately that Fair Trade Carpentry now has a website which has a 'testimonials' page. There are numerous residential and commercial clients besides myself, who have sent in their testimonials...I think reading these would give a slightly more balanced view. I say this because I also noticed that jeremy p blogged about another construction company and whined about how they never returned his calls and must not want his business. If the same thing keeps happening to this guy then maybe he's the problem, not the companies he's contacting.

Move the stove and fridge and clean. All that was dirty when I moved in. Mgr runs defense for owners, lies thru her teeth and is generally unfriendly. She will deny things she says at move in, and the lease never states you're only allowed 4 nail holes in any wall. I'd stay away!!

This is what brought me in there, I was in need of a pellet stove. So anyway, I stopped in one morning and talked to Kristen, for no other reason than she's the lucky one that was at the counter when I got there. She spent a good solid half hour with me answering lots of random questions I had about pellet stoves. I probably took more time with her than I should have however she didn't seem to mind so it was all good. I did go ahead and purchase my pellet stove from here and the experience was very good. Now I will be the first to tell you that I am not the easiest person sometimes to deal with and a lot of that is mostly because of my schedule. Instead of calling Kirsten on the phone to iron out the final details I did 90% of it by email as I work overnights and sleep when their store is open. This worked out pretty well as between her and Shauna they got back to me in the next day and I had my answer that evening when I checked email. I arranged for installation and was even able to talk them into having me install guys show up a little earlier than they usually would, once again because of my work schedule. They were pleasant and professional and got the job done in just a couple hours. I have only had the chance to burn the stove a couple of times since having installed however I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend Johnson's pool and spas if the need arises. I am still waiting on delivery of 3 tons of pellets however I don't foresee any problems or difficulty with this is why I'm posting this review now. In addition to the installation they also come out every year if you require it to clean your stove for the next season, and I fully plan on calling them for this because, well I'm just that lazy.

The pool heater was installed incorrectly, making it impossible to connect the gas line, and the smart automation system was never fully programmed or integrated. When I asked them to correct their installation errors, I was told I would have to pay additional money to fix work I had already paid for. I also left this experience feeling that I was treated differently because of my race, which made an already frustrating situation even more upsetting. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.
