There were some solid guys here to train with, and I was grateful for that having visited many other gyms where there is not much of a variety of people to grow with.

I joined specifically because I was told there were ladies-only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes. As a complete beginner, I was only comfortable training in a women-only environment, and that was the primary reason I chose this gym. I spent nearly $500 on a punch card and required training gear based on that understanding. When I signed up, Luke specifically told me that the punch card would not expire. Months later, I was informed that it actually had a six-month expiration policy. More importantly, the ladies-only classes that were the entire reason I enrolled were eventually removed from the schedule altogether. When I raised concerns, the solution offered was for me to attend regular mixed-gender classes. That completely missed the point. I had been clear from the beginning that I was not comfortable training with men and would not have signed up otherwise. I attempted to find a reasonable resolution and even suggested alternatives, including one-on-one instruction. Instead, my refund request was denied despite the fact that the specific program I signed up for no longer exists. What I found most disappointing was the lack of professionalism and accountability. After spending hundreds of dollars and making multiple efforts to resolve the matter respectfully, I was left with services I cannot use, no meaningful solution, and ultimately no response to my follow-up email. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend T3MA.

From day one, I felt right at home. The staff were also **super responsive during sign-up** and helped me through some unusual payment hiccups without any hassle, which really showed how much they care about their members. I mostly attended the **11:30am classes**, which tend to be a bit smaller--perfect for getting more individual attention. The focus is very much on **technique**, which I really appreciate. Head Coach Tony deserves a special mention. He's **super friendly and approachable**, but don't let that fool you--he'll absolutely push you in training (in the best way possible). You leave every session tired but better, and the support from the whole gym makes it an awesome experience. Overall, it's a **supportive, technique-focused, and fun environment**--highly recommended for anyone looking to train Muay Thai, regardless of level.

Inherent in the culture of the sport is mutual respect and sportsmanship, and Muay Thai Iyarin embodies that. Communication with your partner is emphasized, especially for more senior folks being paired with newer folks so that they feel comfortable with the light, play-style sparring used to practice the drills learned in class. Naturally, there is the option for heavier sparring for those in the intermediate and advanced classes--but even then, communication is emphasized...sometimes you've got an injury, sometimes you just don't want to go hard, etc. It's all about talking and getting on the same page. I absolutely love that, because it's so important to the sport, and to life in general! I love Muay Thai, and I really appreciate the culture and community that has formed around this gym. The folks here are great, and they work hard to make it a fun, safe place to learn the art.

They have a strong focus on safety before, after and during classes as well as a solid process for insuring that drop-in visitors have a great experience. I had some hard rolls and some very technical instruction as well. I would definitely recommend T3MA Redmond to anyone visiting the PNW or anyone who lives in the area and is looking at starting BJJ.

The review of the facility is for the 3-7 year old class: We signed our 3 y/o son up for the 3-7 year old class and did so without a trial session - during our visit of the facility and explanation of the class, we were resolved to have our son start and thought T3MA would be the perfect environment- We paid for the 1st month and GI upfront (+$400 in total fees) The front staff said that the instructor would introduce themselves to our son to soften nerves. Most of the students are closer to 7 than 3, and the class is definitely geared that way as well. Not only did the instructor not introduce themselves (any of them), within a couple minutes of the class starting, there was an immediate frustration that he would take some extra attention relative to the 6 and 7 year olds, and one of the instructors came over and said "If he doesn't start to participate on his own in the next couple minutes, we're going to ask him to sit on the side. We cannot give him special attention over the other students". Large contrast to what was explained. In hindsight we should have done the trial, but the explanation of this class for our 3 y/o son was much more considerate of his age. I'll forever have an image of my son sitting in a line prior to class and saying to me "dad, I'm so nervous", which is frustrating because they did nothing to alleviate that and made it worse as they were agitated that he needed extra attention. We gut check that experience, we then did a trial at a different national chain BJJ facility in Bellevue and had a night and day experience. The instructor spent a couple minutes with my son prior to, introducing himself, making jokes with him and becoming familiar to each other. The class itself was geared for 3-4 year olds and not 5-7 - there was an expectation that 3 and 4 year olds have limited attention spans and it catered to it. Much better for what we were looking for. Now the management piece - I then asked T3MA if they could treat my 1 and only class as a "free trial" - as they do offer and refund the month we paid for and at least a partial refund of the GI we paid for, since it is specific to T3MA and cannot be used anywhere else. I was told in email essentially "we offer a free trial, you should have done that first" - following by no response for 7 days upon protest, including not answer and returning phone calls and several email follow-ups, for again them to say "you had the option of a free class and didn't take it, tough luck". I was surprised by the class experience because it didn't match what was relayed, but I was very surprised by that response and unwillingness to refund any of the $400+ that I was out for my sons single class. Hope this helps families avoid a similar mistake - If you're considering T3MA, definitely do a trial, and more importantly, trial other facilities other than T3MA so you can benchmark the atmosphere and class prior to committing to T3MA.
