Jeffery Prather may have some military credentials, but he is a fraud when it comes to actual martial arts, that can be used as self defense. The man is a narcissist, he teaches things that would get someone hurt or killed in an actual altercation. He embellishes on his personal history in order to paint himself as some sort of hero figure, when he's really just a really really creepy old man taking advantage of vulnerable people. Prather does nothing more than besmirch the military with his exaggerations, and to an even greater degree, the absolutely awful "martial arts" he teaches which are nothing more than fantasy, live action role playing. There is not one thing he teaches that is good for a self defense situation, or even a training situation with a fully resisting opponent. Go to his school, which he bills as "the original MMA gym in Tuscon"; which it is anything but an MMA gym. If an MMA student went into his school (me: and I did just to see for myself) and sought training, or just a good roll, you will not find it at Bunkinkan Ninja school. Nope, you'll find a narcissistic old man teaching what amounts to dance, not martial arts. If you have a black belt from this man, it's not worth the fabric used to make the belt. You do not have black belt level skills, you were only sold that as a reward for signing a contract. Don't think so? Go to an MMA school and see what happens to you. Try ANY of the garbage this man "teaches", and you will get owned by a white belt who's got no more than two weeks experience; and that is IF you are one of Prather's "black belts". Go here if you are into live action role playing (LARP'ing), and you want to role play being a cute Ninja. There is nothing remotely useful in anything Prather teaches from a martial arts or military perspective. If you've gone to one of his seminars and found it good, you have very low standards, and you've not likely been exposed to real training. Steer VERY clear of this con-artist. read more

I have been training with Mr. Prather at Warrior School for six years. Warrior School's motto "real training for real life" is absolutely the truth. I have taken numerous firearms courses through the years and am an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor. In my 20+ years of taking specialized self-defense training and instructing others, I have never encountered the superior level of professionalism, safety and effectiveness I have found at Warrior School. Mr. Prather's courses are the real deal! I have taken a Gunfighter course and am currently enrolled in Handgun Martial Arts (HMAC). HMAC is based on real-life scenarios that a Law Enforcement Officer or average citizen protecting his family may encounter. If you want a place where you wait for a buzzer to start punching holes as fast as you can into paper targets, this isn't the place for you! Our training is based on very realistic life or death situations where one needs to have the refined skills to protect ones self and others. Training is based on using ones thinking skills above all else. As a student, you develop the critical thinking as well as refined movement and engagement skills required to neutralize a deadly threat while keeping others around you safe. The student also learns that "the gun" isn't always the answer to a deadly threat. High value training, well worth the investment. I've taken several courses with content ranging across modern combative skills, civilian defense training and tactical/emergency medical skills. Course content is packed with practical information content and taught by experienced professionals. The instruction is intended to save lives. My interactions with the founder, senior instructors, and return students has been positive and rewarding. It's clear that the Warriorschool institution is passionate about empowering students to preserve life and freedom. If you want to take the responsibility to learn to protect yourself and others, there are plenty of people that would recommend Warriorschool. If you don't like life or you resent freedom, you might not benefit from the mindset that leads to deeper understanding of the skills, but you'll still get great instruction nonetheless. Training can be intense, and can involve high-pressure problem solving and situations requiring prerequisite skill to remain safe. Most students handle it well. Few don't. There is a lot of BS and negative rants on the web, don't buy into it. From what I've seen this stuff seems to be an intentional defamation campaign. I have trained with Mr. Prather at Warriorschool for some time and am impressed with both the man and the training he provides. He is a true professional that delivers top notch instruction in topics ranging from horsemanship to combat medicine, tactical driving and combat skills. Warriorschool's classes are packed with far more than your money's worth of knowledge and hands-on experience. The prices beat the competition and Mr. Prather, and the world-class instructors he employs, keeps the classes interesting and safe. Warriorschool's business dealings with me have always been righteous and above board. If you come to them with a reasonable request they will work with you on any financial needs. However, if you do not show up because you stayed up too late the night before a security guard class working on an on-line class from another vendor and then overslept, you may need to reconsider if you are responsible enough to own a gun, let alone work in armed security. Please do some research Jeffrey Prather MSBP Merit Board "The agency further alleged that, in their sworn statements, two women described their "sexual healings" as "violent and/or a rape, and [he has] been accused of sexual assault by at least one of the women." In addition, the agency alleged that, in his leadership role at the Connection Institute, he advised a member that her husband had become a homosexual and that the way to bring him back to their marriage was for her to engage in "'sexual healing' with [him]." why would I or any female go to him? read more

I have been training with Warrior School for almost two years now. The courses offered are absolutely hands down second to none! If you are looking to be coddled and have your ego stroked there are others that will take you money and do just that. If you want real world training with safety being paramount, this is the place to be. There is a lot of fun and good friends to be had as well. If you are looking to go plinking, there are lots of places you can shoot. If you need to learn protection techniques that prepare you for the realities and intensity of real combat, then there is no better training than at Warriorschool. I've trained with Mr. Prather for over 20 years, and I still learn something eye opening every time. However, I can't remember in all those years ever attending any of his training that left me in my comfort zone. Jeff Prather is a well trained professional, U.S Army vetern, Martial Arts Master and security specialist. I took the unarmed and armed security classes from him at the Dojo on Broadway.
