This is an update to our original review. As I mentioned, we were traveling when our Olive became ill and we took her to Wasatch Animal Clinic. They did a great job treating her. She is not a regular patient of theirs so we were pleasantly surprised when they called to follow-up and check to see how she was doing. Brought two/two month puppies here buying the "Puppy Package". 5 months later brought in the two pups for neuter & spaying... left with one. Our poor Dane/German mix did not survive the surgery. When the vet called to report the travesty; she admittedly "skipped pre-exam due the dog trying to eat me." After they killed our pup; the resistance to learn the truth was not been revealed. They made a mistake and will not own up to it. They are sneaky. My whole family is on antidepressants. Was dog-sitting and the poor thing got sick. I haven't been inside a vet in almost 10 years, but the owner had me take him in. Staff was very kind, as were most of the other "patients." I really appreciated all the spots outside (including doggy bags) for them to do their business (though that didn't stop Willie from peeing twice inside the office too ‍). I communicated over text with the doctor over the weekend and felt cared for, even as simply the dog-sitter. read more

I am not the type to write a review, but I feel I must warn pet owners about this place. I truly feel the Vets here are kind, caring people, but as a whole, this clinic is heinous. I come from a medical background and understand surgical situations and how physicians and their staff treat people in medicine. I brought my otherwise healthy dog in for what is considered a fairly standard surgical procedure that most vets do numerous times monthly. The mortality rate is less than 1% For a dog like mine. My puppy died from what numerous resources have told me are poor surgically related techniques or mistake. As my family grieved the unexpected loss of our young and otherwise healthy malamute dog, I reached out to this clinic and simply requested a partial refund of the very expensive failed surgery. The office manager instantly became extremely cold, stopped calling me back, ignored my outreach and began to lawyer up. In human medicine this level of predictive surgical outcome would merit extreme surgical malpractice, but all we wanted was a partial refund. Beware of this office!! Most vet offices are run like caring clinics who truly want the best for their owners and their pets, and even though this clinic tries to claim they do, the truth is in their actions. I now have several other clinics that say they do refund in similar circumstances. But this location treated us like the enemy when they caused an unnecessary and highly improbably death to our beloved dog. please, take your pet somewhere else, for its safety and the joy of your family. read more

My name is Lizy and after I got out of work, from Salon Five Fifty, Heber City, I saw this baby stumbling around with no collar with his little head injured and his tummy distended? He was so small and so sweet he allowed me to pick him up with a little coaxing and I brought him to Wasatch Animal Clinic and explained how I found him on side of the road in distress. The girls immediately took care of him, the Vet treated him and they scanned for a chip and found the owner! Scout spent the night and his family picked him up the next morning all patched up by the"Angels at Wasatch Animal Clinic"!! Thank you to the most beautiful wonderful animal clinic ever! A terrible experience was made significantly worse by Wasatch Animal Clinic. We took our Labrador in for a lump, and he was evaluated by Dr. Hansen (current owner). We were told that it was a harmless lipoma and was common for dogs. As the lump got bigger, so did our concern and we took our dog back for another evaluation. This time we got another veterinarian (who was wonderful) who, after expressing bewilderment at the original diagnosis, informed us that the lump was actually a tumor, and cancer had spread to our dog's lungs. Because of the delay in treatment, the cancer was terminal. This wasn't great, and we should have learned our lesson. When it was time to put our little buddy down, we went back. We chose to cremate him, and were told that "payment is due upon pickup." We took that as when we picked up our dog's remains. Actually, it means when the cremation company picks up the body, which we were told after they had our dog in their freezer for over a week. We were told the turn around time was approximately 2 weeks to get the ashes back. It's been nearly 2 months now, so when we called today we were informed that they've had the ashes FOR OVER A MONTH. We had given them multiple numbers to call, which they apparently did not put in their system, and after making one phone call (that we were unaware of), they apparently decided a better option was to hold on to the ashes instead of any kind of follow up. It's unfortunate that the vet we have gone to for years made a bad experience significantly worse, did not treat our dog appropriately, and exhibited the worst customer service from a vet that I've ever experienced. They've lost our trust and our business, and we won't be going back. read more

We were on the road traveling in our RV with our very senior dog. She was having difficulty breathing. The clinic found us an appointment on a very busy day. Dr. Hardy and the Vet Tech, Angela, took amazing care of our dog, who was suffering from issues exacerbated by altitude. They were thorough, knowledgeable, compassionate, and professional. We are traveling on a 5 month RV trip and our Pomeranian needed a refill of his medication. The clinic obtained our pets records from our regular vet and reviewed them prior to his appointment. Due to Covid, we could not enter the office. A very cheerful, masked employee came out and spoke to me and took our dog in. The vet did a complete examination and spoke to me personally. Due to the specific nature of his medication, we had to have it filled at a regular pharmacy. The vet was very helpful in accomplishing this. He even spoke to me on the phone about alternate treatments for his chronic condition and filled that prescription until we can get home. They would be our regular vet if we lived nearby. read more

I've been coming here for 5 years. They are always on time, very clean, extremely professional, and super loving! I've had a dog that had to be put down from old age, another dog with an auto immune disease that also had a litter of 11 puppies and a third with a serious accident that needed stitches and a drain. All experiences have been super positive. Dr. Hansen is straight forward and honest. He tells you when your dog needs a procedure and when they don't. This is the reason I go to Heber. Well, I like Heber a lot, but before I met my vet, not as often as I go now. I found my vet by chance, but now go to my vet because Dr. Wade Isom and Dr. Cathy Morton are kind, compassionate and caring animal lovers. They have taken care of my fur faced Sebastian for some time now. He's had some nasty stuff happen to him and they have been supportive and done everything they can to help my little guy get better. I have wanted to say this for years even though now we live in Burbank CA. Dr. Isom, Tori and their crew are the real deal when it comes to helping your animals. When we first moved to Heber and found Wasatch Animal Clinic, my cocker spaniel Maxwell fell off the couch onto a coffee table. It was close to midnight. We called and left a message for Dr. Isom, He got out of bed, met us at his clinic in a few minutes. Who does that anymore? Only somebody who really loves and cares about animals would ever do that. I only slept for about 45 minutes last night because I cant stop thinking that I made the wrong decision when taking my kitten to them for treatment. My mom has been using them for her pugs for over seven years which is why I went there... but after the way they treated us yesterday neither of us will ever go back. To begin, the front desk person was incredibly rude from the second we arrived, she was very abrupt and did not care to listen to my description of the events leading up to my bringing my kitten into the clinic. During her subsequent phone calls with the vet's status updates about my kitten she was short in tone and acted completely put out by any question I asked her. She didn't even show the tiniest bit of compassion when handing me the box containing my kittens body which we brought home to bury. As for the vet, she called me once and told me that because my kitten was in so much pain she would have to put her under to get a good xray... never mentioning I would be charged another $100 because she took an initial xray without being able to position the cat properly... how is that my fault? She does this for a living she should have known it wouldn't turn out before she took it. Even if she didnt know and it was an honest mistake on her part... it seems really wrong for them to charge me for two xray's because of her mistake doesn't it? Finally when it was decided the best option was to euthanize and we drove back to the clinic to pay and sign the paperwork she didnt even take a minute to show me either of the xray's and explain the injuries to me. As a vet, should it not be standard to review them with the pet owner, if for no other reason than to ease my mind and help me feel more certain I was doing the right thing? I have always thought of vets and the people who work or them to be very kind and compassionate people and aside from this experience that has always been true. It really bothers me to think the last couple of hours of my kittens life were spent in a very cold and uncaring environment, if I could go back and do it over again I would have taken her someplace that loves animals. The people at Wasatch Animal Hospital don't appear to care about pets or their owners at all... that's a pretty crucial trait for an animal clinic to be missing. I hope anyone who ever needs a vet near Kamas or Heber can avoid the experience I had and go elsewhere. read more

I would not go anywhere else to have little furry family members tended too. Dr. Isom is so great and so understanding how we who have pets love them as true family members. A few years back when our family rat was very sick, and started to have convesultions, my husband I knew Socks was going to pass away shortly but we didn't know how long that would take...he was in pain and we could tell suffering as he convusled and twitched...we put him gently in a little wash cloth, drove him over to the office after we called Dr. Isom on this Sunday and told him what was going on. He met us at the office and, took one look at Socks, and we knew what had to be done...Dr. gently took Socks, covered in the little yellow wash cloth, into the back room and about 10 minutes later came back and gently gave us back the little yellow wash cloth now covering a very peaceful rat ready to be buried. I know all this sounds to dramatic, but he was our beloved rat for 5 years and we were so touched by Dr's gentleness and understanding and most of all coming on a Sunday . He didn't make us feel dumb or wierd. ever since then, we have taken our dogs for check-ups, nail clipping and a few emergancies and close calls....and every time the dogs and us got super and compassionalte treat ment for both doctors and staff. The staff? yes, I have been to many vet hospitals and usualy the staff ack like they are working in just an office or retail or something..not really understanding and caring for the humans! Thanks Wasatch Animal Hospital. We wouldn't know what to do with out you. p.s. We even got a condolance letter from them when our little Bishon passed away from a stroke. The card was beautiful with watercolor picture of a cat and dog looking at a sunset. (sniff) Wonderful. God bless read more

We love Dr. Isom at the Wasatch Animal Hospital! He takes wonderful care of our dogs and cat. We live in Salt Lake City and for any issues, surgeries, and vaccinations we drive up to Heber. We would want no one else working on our pets. He is gentle and our dogs and cat instantly respond to him and trust him. He takes his time and is thoughtful in his examinations and diagnosis. I drove all the way from Salt Lake City to have Dr. Isom take a look at my dog. He was very thorough. Even got down on the floor with him. He explained things easily so I could understand and got me some samples for us to try out. The rest of the staff were also very nice. Other vets that we have been to seem to not really care, and want to run expensive test that are unnecessary. Wasatch Animal Hospital seems to be the exception. I highly recommend taking your pets here. read more

I would never take my animal to Dr. Isom ever again! He is uncaring , unprofessional, condescending and rude! My vet was out-of-town and I mistakenly took my dog to see Isom. My dog was very unresponsive and I knew there was something terribly wrong. He was diagnosed with a mild upset stomach! Isom was so uncaring and did not do a thorough exam (money was not an object) and rushed me out of the clinic. I then took my guy to SLC to Advanced Veterinary Care and it turned out that my dog had cancer...lymphoma! He is now in chemotherapy. Did Isom really graduate veterinary school??? If you care about your animals DO NOT go to this clinic! read more
