I have been going to this clinic for over 10 years and appreciate the friendly and knowledgable staff, however, they have been going downhill. I don't think I'll be going back. They instituted a new policy where you cannot get prescriptions electronically approved through online pharmacies. I understand they have a business to run, but if I'm being forced to buy from the White Pine pharmacy (or forced to snail mail a prescription to an online pharmacy...the only other option by law), then the meds my pet needs should be stocked. Or at least they should have an idea of when the medication will be restocked. Also, the clinic has been rising their prices for vet services pretty steeply recently. read more

The guy asked me no questions but made sure to tell me they have a same-day appointment up charge. He then said there was only one appointment today at 4:30 or nothing until next week! huh? My mother and I took our dogs here regularly for many years with great service and support. However things went steeply downhill after they were aquired by national veterinary Association. The friendly attentiveness is gone as are the star staff members (shout-out to Dr. Magli Lequient you are the best!) And they now seem to only care about charging you money, not for the wellbeing of your fur-babies. What happened: We had a dog go in for a tooth-cleaning and were told based on initial inspection that tooth pulling was not likely necessary. During the procedure I received a call that "one or two look bad enough they need pulling" which is perfectly understandable. However, I went to pick up my dog and they had pulled TEN TEETH - far greater than the one or two I was notified of and it's shocking that they could have missed TEN apparently rotten teeth during the initial inspection. They charged me per tooth for the extraction which came out to more the $1000 MORE than the initial quote (totalling almost $2,000 for one dog's tooth cleaning). Last July a friend sent me the attached photo from the company's Instagram page, which I'm pretty sure is illegal and also makes me suspicious of their positive reviews... We immediately switched vets following that horrible experience and have had no problems with Powder Paws located nearby. read more

I cannot speak more highly of white pine and Al of their staff. My dog was attacked by another dog in our front yard last weekend. She suffered quite the gash across her left side, resulting in a pocket laceration nearly to her ribs. I left White Pine a message on Sunday in the afternoon. They called me on Monday 5 minutes after opening their doors. Delilah (my dog) was patched up and on her way home less than 4 hours later. I really wanted to like this clinic since they are one of the few with Fear Free vets in this area. After many chances, each visit more disappointing than the last, I will not be returning. The first issue was when they gave me two sets of contradicting instructions for treating my dog's ear infection. When I called to verify they told me to do one thing, and when I went to recheck was told I should have been doing the other. I've seen them drag dogs around the lobby and onto the scale (which is absolutely not in compliance with Fear Free practices). Most recently I had to wait outside while they brought my dog in to run tests. I have told them every single visit my dog needs space around other dogs. I repeat this at every visit to make sure it is well known. And when I handed my dog off to the tech I let her know she needs space around other dogs. As she was walking in another dog was walking out and the tech let my dog have the length of the leash and if I hadn't jumped in between there likely would have been teeth flying. I admit she should have had her muzzle on but physical contact aside there is still psychological damage when a dog goes over threshold like that. It fuels the negative associations and my cautions seemed to be completely disregarded. I was told the clinic manage would call me to talk about my concerns. He never called. It took a week to get lab results back which is longer than we've ever had to wait and I did not receive a call to discuss results. I was informed via email that my dog has a disease that has a 2 year life expectancy. Overall my experience here has been very poor and disappointing. read more

I have been taking my pets to WP for 25 years and I am always happy with the doctors and staff. Compassionate care and knowledgeable doctors. They will call and take the time to discuss results and see how the dog/cat is doing. I do wish they would have a separate entrance and exit for the sad day you have to say goodbye to your pet....A little more privacy would be nice. read more

My dogs have been going to White Pine Veterinary Clinic for the 8 years we've lived in Park City. Unfortunately, the quality of care has totally declined since their ownership change a few years ago First, one of my labs stopped eating. Any lab owner can tell you that when they aren't interested in eating, there's definitely a problem... My dog had developed a severe infection that White Pine just simply refused to treat, instead choosing to have us "monitor" her for a week until it got so bad that after finally bringing her back in for the FORTH time, we had to admit her. Several day-long IV antibiotic sessions finally got her infection under control. Hello $6K+ vet bill My other dog is on Rimadyl for an arthritic shoulder. I called to renew his prescription at 8AM Saturday morning and was told I'd get a call back to pick up his pills "shortly" once one of the vets had signed off on it. I called again mid-day and was told I still could not pick up his pills. I never received a call back. I tried again first thing Sunday morning and was told that "his" vet was the only one that could sign off on renewing his prescription and she was out until Monday. I explained that I was going out of town early Monday morning and was told there was nothing that could be done. Now my dog's in pain and won't have his meds for almost a week. Sad to say, but this place has turned into an uncaring, not-very-competent, overpriced pet pill dispensary. We will not be back. Go elsewhere read more

Zero stars. High prices and terrible customer service. They charged me $300 for X-rays that I didn't ask for. These of course turned up nothing, and my dog ended up having a bacterial infection that a course of antibiotics cured. I asked for a refund or discount on the X-rays. No chance. Don't take your pet here if you need diagnostic work done. A friends dog had gotten mange from staying at a kennel and a few weeks later we noticed our dog had intense itching and hair loss. There was no doubt in my mind he contracted mange from this other dog. I took my dog to WPV to get an official diagnosis and the prescription I needed to treat it. The vet comes in and immediately says it's either ringworm or a food allergy. I told her my dogs medical history and included the fact that a close friends dog had mange and our dogs see each other often. Still she kept pushing ringworm or allergies. Also, I raised cattle and have personally had contracted ringworm and this looked nothing like it (I'm not a vet either but I could have looked at my dog and known it was mange-it was obvious). But she kept pushing that so I paid for the vet visit and shampoo to treat ringworm. She said to call back in two weeks if his condition didn't get better and then we could do a test that costs $100 to send out to a lab plus another vet visit bill. Two weeks later I call back and they refused to answer any questions and insist that I have to come in for more information. Btw, their vet techs and receptionists have no business working at a veterinary clinic. Doesn't seem like they are very educated about animal care either. So after treating for ringworm and watching his diet for possible allergies we decide to go to another vet. You know how long it took this vet to diagnose mange. Maybe ten minutes tops. She looked at him and said "yep, this is probably mange" then took a skin scrape and put it under a microscope where she could see the mite itself. TEN MINUTES! My dog has been suffering for weeks for something that could have been diagnosed in TEN MINUTES! I'm not sure if the vets are that incompetent and don't know the difference between mange, ringworm or food allergies or they play their customers to make them come back for multiple visits to make bank. read more

I wish I could give them 5 stars, but I don't feel like my concerns were listened to. My cat was very sick, and after 2 previous hospital stays (elsewhere) nobody had answers. Based on the medical tests run and his symptoms, everything seemed to line up with sepsis from a tooth root abscess (based on academic and veterinary articles on sepsis). They said this wasn't likely, but their X-rays confirmed an abscess. Cats who had sepsis need a special diet, but they still didn't believe me that it could have been sepsis (I was the one who identified the tooth root abscess symptoms prior to the x-ray). He was vomiting for weeks after surgery, and they told me it was simply digestive issues... but this cat never had issues in his life. He continued to vomit for weeks after beginning the digestive food they recommended, but at this point I didn't trust they would help me find an answer. Only through my own research, I was able to provide him with the antioxidants he needed in his diet, and he finally stopped getting sick. (Their receptionist also made a scheduling error, wrote down the wrong time, and they put a "no-show" on my account. They did not believe me, once again, and I had to pay in advance.) read more

Pros: Friendly front office staff Easy to schedule when I had more of an emergency issue with my pup Cons: -My dog had surgery two weeks ago that was framed as necessary due to what showed up in an xray the day prior. She was given fluids in that instant and the next day brought in for her surgery. $1440 later no foreign object was found and no real explanation on what happened. Also, no xray before surgery? My guess is that surgery could've been avoided all together. -Two weeks post surgery I've been calling for the past few days to get in touch about stitches removal. I've received an automated message about a building emergency each time. No follow up call or email. No protocol to tell me where and when my dog is getting her stitches out. Nothing. read more

We were visiting from out of town and had a sick dog with us that gave us concern. They were able to get her in within a day, and we saw Dr. Mauer. She was great! She did a thorough exam and offered good solutions. The rates were reasonable too. Given how stressed we were, the vet techs (friendly young man), front desk, and Dr. Mauer were all great. They aren't following their own COVID-19 policy. When I was there people were waiting in the lobby and a man was there not wearing the mandated mask. I had to go in and wait in a tiny exam room to drop my dog off and again to pick my dog up. In these exam rooms social distancing is all but impossible. And, we are breathing HVAC air that can concentrate viruses because there isn't full exchange with outside air. Staff at front desk were not wearing masks indoors consistently. I felt less safe in this business than anywhere else I have recently been. They should know better. read more

Wow! What a wonderful place. The vet was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Dr. MacDonald was wonderful and the vet tech was so experienced. We had no wait time and this lessened the stress on my pup. It's still expensive compared to St. Louis prices where we moved from but so much less than another veterinarian we saw prior a mile away or so. My dog didn't need any expensive lab test the other vet had pushed. My dog is on the mend and we will be using this office from now on. They really made me feel comfortable, worked within my budget and made my dog feel secure. Two thumbs up! read more

Since dr. McDonald left this place is a nightmare! My dog went in at 7:30 a.m. for teeth cleaning and I was told his liver count was 2000. I was upset all day and did not get a call back until 7:30 at night. It was a nightmare. Right now I'm sick I live in Salt Lake and my dog is sick with diarrhea. We have taken our cats an now dogs to White Pine for almost 25 years. From serious problems to minor ailments they show concern and give options for treatments. They always call to follow up on procedures the next day, which means a lot to us. We know there are other quality veterinary clinics in the area but have never felt the need to leave White Pine. read more

White Pine is truly amazing. My cat had been to 2 other vets who said his constant vomiting was due to progressive kidney failure. Not that I wouldn't accept the diagnosis of kidney failure, but none of the other vets offered any options for comfort care for him and he just kept getting worse. I was about to put him down (I didn't want him to suffer) but my sister recommended I take him to see Dr. Lequient and said that she is the best. Dr. Lequient looked at his labs and said that his kidneys were declining, but they weren't to the point that they would be causing this severe of symptoms. She did an exam/labs and deduced he had IBD. I give him a small pill every other day and his symptoms were GONE in 2 days. I am SO THANKFUL that she thought "outside the box". He has gained weight back, is more active and purr-y, and I can tell he has a good quality of life right now. **I have had another year of time with him that I wouldn't have had if I hadn't taken him here!** Dr. Lequient is like the cat whisperer. My cat is a NIGHTMARE to travel with and yowls the whole time. When Dr. Lequient comes in the room, he just lays on the blanket and just chills. His body language is relaxed and he lets her do the exam with no problems. :) As for the clinic itself, it is 10 times better than any other vet I've been to. The front desk staff are so kind and efficient. They take messages for the vet if I have a follow up question or a new problem. The vet calls me back same day and keeps me informed. They explain his labs and the treatment plan thoroughly when take him for vet check-ups. I live in Salt Lake and drive 45 minutes to get there- but it is worth every minute and every penny. read more

My experience here has not been very good. One of the vets is really awesome I think her name is Dr. Burchet or something like that. She really cares about dogs, but unfortunately their devices aren't really all that updated and good enough for great vet medicine. I don't see myself taking my dog here anymore. The dog daycare place is good but they dont really have good customer service becuase they wouldn't be able to give youan itemized list of services used. Also, they do not really keep up with your dogs medical issues even if they are right next door to the vets. Not really happy. read more

When our Veterinarian switched practices from University Veterinary Hospital to White Pine, I was happy to follow her, despite the further drive for me. I knew I'd still get incredible service from her (Dr. Magali Lequient) and was hopeful that I'd love the building/practice as much as I loved her previous place. And I do, it's a wonderful veterinary clinic! The building is easily accessible from the freeway, and the staff is very nice, and very laid-back feeling. Despite the barks and meows echoing around the waiting room, it feels relaxed. I appreciate that. And as always, Dr. Lequient is incredible with my beloved feline, and I know that my pets are in wonderful hands here at White Pine. read more

First of all, if I could give this place 10 stars I would. I have had pets all my life, and I have NEVER come across a better veterinarian clinic than White Pine Veterinary. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, the facility is clean, and the overall business is organized and efficient. But what stands out most are the doctors, especially Dr. Kate! My boyfriend and I had recently adopted a stray Chihuahua and we brought her in for an annual check-up. Dr. Kate was thorough in the exam and took her time. She has over ten years of experience and it shows in her knowledge and professionalism. She discovered a small lump on my dog's leg, and she knew right away that it was a mast cell tumor. This was devastating news, since we were told that the dog was only 2 years old. We thought she would still be relatively healthy even though she was a stray. Dr. Kate was upfront and honest with me about my dog's condition, but still seemed confident that she could help. She made an appointment for the following day to remove the tumor. During the procedure, Dr. Kate called several times to let me know what was going on and how my dog was doing. Once I came to pick up my dog, she offered me her cell phone in case I had any questions or concerns. After the surgery, Dr. Kate sent out the tissue samples to a pathologist, so we could know what stage my dog's cancer was at. After a couple of days, I received a phone call from the pathologists who said the cancer was at a stage 2, but Dr. Kate did a great job of getting the margins. It is very unlikely that the cancer would ever come back. A couple of weeks later, I went back to the clinic to get the stiches out of her leg and do a quick post-surgical exam. Dr. Kate was again, very thorough and patient. Dr. Kate not only did an amazing job removing the tumor, she went above and beyond to make sure this surgery was as affordable as possible for me. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kate. I PROMISE you, Dr. Kate is the best veterinarian in Park City. Do yourself and your pet a favor, and go to White Pine Veterinary! read more
