I have taken my sweet babies to Coleman for almost 20 years. He's an incredible vet and kept my chihuahua alive for 16 years. And I never once had to pay a fortune for his help. The receptionists are always helpful, knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. They have been in the industry a long time and know what they are talking about. Dr. Ken Coleman Neutered our family pug today. When we went to pick him up from his procedure my 11 year old granddaughter came with me and was so excited to see our dog, she peeked in The room where the kennel was that our dog was being held in. Our dog got excited to see her and started whimpering. Coleman, without realizing my granddaughter was peeking in, pulled his glove off opened the kennel slapped our dog and punched him twice in the face with a closed fist knocking him against the kennel wall to "shut him up" my granddaughter was horrified and traumatized! When I confronted the receptionist she disappeared into the back room. I left and she called about 2 1/2 hours later letting me know that Dr. Coleman has been stressed and she was apologizing like crazy for his actions. ( my daughter video recorded the entire conversation) She admitted and offered a full refund and tried to justify Dr coleman punching my dog because that's how he quiets loud dogs... My dog is a 17 pound pug, still a puppy... what kind of human punches a small dog in the head that's coming out of anesthesia! Our dogs eye is swollen and to say the whole experience was traumatizing would be an understatement!! I'm absolutely disgusted! read more

All you people leaving BAD reviews of Colemans are pathetic. I have used their services for years and years through all our family pets and I have had the best help and the best care available ANYWHERE. First off having a cat declawed is WRONG that is the worst thing you can ever do to a poor animal. Maybe rethink why you even have a cat??? I have had 5 dogs and 3 cats, all cared for by Colemans and never ever had a hard time with any of these things, Price, Care, Sympathy (when an animal is sick or too old to continue on) Dr. Coleman is the best and should not be given bad ratings because good help is hard to find. or because someone has an axe to grind. I will always go to colemans with my animals because they have proven the test of time to be the best and the most respectful of MY wishes and my wants and needs. read more

I can't say enough great things about Coleman Veterinary. They are kind, helpful, knowledgable and you leave feeling like you ripped them off because they charge next to nothing for their services. It's small, in a strip mall, and the lack of overhead is probably why they are so economical. We took our new kitty here for his vaccinations and Dr. Coleman is seriously an animal whisperer. He is so gentle and sweet you can tell he genuinely cares about animals. He even picked our kitten up and nuzzled him and then pronounced he was going to be a very good cat. His prediction came true. This place is the worst. Sure the front desk staff are rude. They're also condescending, aloof, annoyed by your existence, seething that they have to interact with the public. That, he incompetence, and the fact that their prices are almost too low makes me wonder if this place isn't a money laundering scene or a front. Not making an accusation, just saying...it's super weird to be open only a few hours three days a week and be that angry about work. Side note: the groomer charged me a different, higher, price every time she groomed my dogs. Same service, random pricing. I can't eyeroll hard enough. read more

Front desk people need to be kind and friendly; something you won't find here. There is enough competition with good vets and, at the very least, decent people in the front office. We visited Dr. Coleman's clinic based on recommendation of friends. We found Dr. Coleman to be caring, compassionate, professional, and friendly. Unfortunately, the same could not be said about the front office staff. They pretty much ignored us when we came in, preferring to talk to the customer at the counter. They were loud and giggly (like they were teens right out of high school) and pretty much uncaring, except when it came to the bill. We would love to go back to Dr. Coleman, but not until his office staff ups their game. read more

We love Coleman veterinary hospital! Our cocker spaniel had a condition called cherry eye. When we called around to see how much it was to fix it we were quoted 700$ from multiple locations and here it was only 100$. They treat the animals really well. Talking to Dr. Coleman is such a joy. He shares stories and facts from his experience that are truly entertaining. My adult kids love coming with me to the office. read more

I've been reading a lot about a crappy receptionist in other posts and I'm pretty sure she's been replaced. I called one vet place asking how much it would cost to deworm my dog and it was outrageous. I called Coleman and only ever spoke to the current receptionist. She told me it would cost $6 and it actually only was that much. She got the vial gave it to me and gave me instructions on how to give it to my dog and even told me that my dog should like the flavor. My dogs worms were gone in 24 hours. She was super friendly and very helpful. Definitely bringing my fur baby back here. read more

I adopted a stray dog from the animal shelter who is very fearful of just about everything. The shelter referred me to Coleman Veterinary Hospital to have my dog neutered and informed my he had to be neutered within 30 days of adoption. I called this office and they were booked up until the day before the 30 day mark. I show up with my dog for the appointment and warned the receptionist that my dog is quite scared of strangers and shows his fear through aggression. I had come prepared with a muzzle on my dog. The receptionist took him to the back room and not even a minute later comes back and informed me the vet has refused to work with my dog because of his aggression. They had taken his muzzle off. I asked if I could come in with my dog and introduce him to the vet and the receptionist said it wouldn't help. I then called Park Animal Hospital and informed them of my predicament of having a aggressive stray dog who the Animal Shelter is requiring to be neutered the next day. That office was able to schedule him in the next day and even allocated additional time to let me introduce my dog to the vet. My experience there was absolutely wonderful. Park Animal Hospital had my back immediately whereas Coleman Veterinary Hospital hardly showed any effort. If your pet needs special attention because of his/her fear of strangers and new environments, Coleman Veterinary Hospital is not the place to go. read more

We also love that they are reasonably priced and they don't try to stick unnecessary fees onto what should be a very easy straight forward visit. don't think the snotty, rude receptionist is gone! i called to bring a new puppy in for follow up shots, etc. and was told because i hadn't been there in the last 4 years with any of our cats or our dog, who had previously been seen there, [who hadn't needed anything, other than to be seen by assistants or other professionals for little things], that i wasn't a customer of theirs anymore so they'd have to refer me out to somewhere else! if i'd have wanted to go somewhere else i would have called them first! but i will now! talk about being made to feel unimportant... read more

I have had some negative experiences with the Coleman Veterinary staff. I took my new dog there to get his shots done. He was very scared and Dr. Coleman decided to wrap his leash around his mouth as a muzzle instead of putting a regular muzzle on him. My dog was so scared he pooped all over. He didn't weigh my dog, nor really examine him. We got the shots and left. I have taken my 2 puppies there to get shots and they did ok. Again, no real examination done. We moved and had to get their vet records mailed to us for he new vet. I had to call multiple times for them to finally send it. I then had to call back because I had forgotten a vaccination record for my dog. I asked 2-3 times and they never sent it. The receptionist was really rude anytime I asked her to mail the info. I finally had to have my husband go and pick it up. They also put the day he picked it up as the vaccination date that it needs to be renewed on. I have only a general idea of when his shots are ACTUALLY due. Pay the extra $10 and go to another vet who actually likes dogs and will do an examination. There are plenty in Utah County that are only a little bit more. I wish I'd been wiser. read more

DO NOT USE THIS VETERINARY CLINIC FOR ANYTHING! They literally KILLED our beautiful 5 yr old chocolate lab by leaving an instrument inside him during a surgery and when we took him back because he wasn't getting better they lied to us about everything and said he was just fine. The arrogant and ornery receptionist would NEVER let us speak to or see Dr Coleman - does he even still work there??? She always says he is with "patients" and can't be bothered. Even after they performed the surgery, which they said he needed because his x-rays (which we never saw) showed he had eaten something that was in his intestines, or after we had concerns because he wasn't getting better two weeks after surgery. Obviously we weren't just nervous owners. We took him to another clinic where they ran lab tests and then because of those results, and after the Vet himself consulted with us, they did x-rays and found an instrument left inside him by COLEMAN for 2 WEEKS!! In spite of this, if the Coleman clinic would have paid attention to what we told them, or let us talk to a real doctor, Dr. Coleman could have found the problem and taken care of it. By the time the 2nd clinic found the problem and operated it was too late for him to survive the condition caused by Coleman's malpractice. Do not trust what they say, they lie about everything they do, every exam, and every prognosis! They are horrible and none of those people should be allowed to be passed off as veterinary clinic professionals. We will do everything we can to ensure that they are no longer licensed to care for any animals! read more

I'd really like to leave positive feedback, but unfortunately I cannot. I had my cat declawed there, and although it was affordable and the procedure appears to have been done correctly, they didn't give me any pain medication for my sweet little kitty! I actually asked for it, and the assistant/receptionist told me, "it's hard to explain, but cats aren't in pain after being declawed." Surprised (but trusting that this girl knew what she was talking about), I took my little girl home and that weekend my cat was in a lot of pain (hiding, crying, wouldn't eat). Coleman Vet was closed so I had to take her to an instacare vet, which gave me the medicine my cat needed .... but my instacare visit cost me TWICE as much as the actual declawing surgery! I went back to Coleman the following Monday and told them what happened, and they stuck to their story that my cat didn't need any pain meds -- nor did they apologize, NOR would they let me see the vet! I asked several times and was told that 'nobody sees him'. I just wanted him to explain it to me, ease my concerns ... like vets should do for their pet owners. Sad experience to know my little kitty was in so much pain and Coleman vet didn't see the necessity in post-surgery medication. If they would like to contact me and explain why this happened, I will consider giving them higher ratings. But until then, I cannot recommend Coleman Veterinary Hospital for surgery ever again. read more

If I could give them a zero star rating, I would. I was recommended Coleman's Veterinary Clinic by a co worker and have never felt so humiliated/untrusting in a Clinic in my life. Never met the vet, he stayed in the back and I got all my information from the receptionist. First off, before I even came in, on the phone the receptionist told me most dogs don't get worms in Utah and that my dog didn't have them, when I asked him if they had a test they could do to check his stool he said they didn't and that they just looked at it. After I questioned him a few more times on how they know if a dog has worms or not, he went to ask someone else if they actually had a way to check the stool, turns out they did. So I took a stool sampling to them later that day and waited about ten minutes in their nasty smelling front room watching one of their cats they let roam take a crap on the floor, the receptionist came out and told me his stool was clean but he did have a bacteria... A few days later, more worms in my dogs stool. I went back in there, no apologies from the receptionist, no tests ran on my dog, he just gave me a syringe full of a yellow liquid, told me to give it to my dog, him and the other ladies rudely answered my questions, like they could not care less, and then had the audacity to tell me my dog didn't need heart guard (a monthly protector against worms) because once again, dogs in Utah don't get worms, right? Oh! And the most ironic part of the whole story, is my dog STILL has worms in his stool. Don't waste your time with this unorganized, unprofessional, unsanitized place, take your animals somewhere else! read more

Dr Coleman is a great vet. He charges reasonable prices and gives REAL advice. He does not up sell to make money. We've been going to him for years and are always pleased. We have two yorkies that go for shots and for teeth cleanings and a cat that goes for shots and to be declawed. I would have given 5 stars, Except the receptionist is so rude! read more

We have taken our pets to Dr. Coleman for 9 years. Have nothing negative to say about him. He's very personable and down-to-earth. Things changed after he got a receptionist. She is rude and condescending. It was obvious that he needed a receptionist - with his professional and kind care of his pet patients and his LOW prices, he just seemed overwhelmed by the enormity of his clientele. Dr Ken Coleman is a kind and compassionate vet. We believe Dr Coleman is thorough and exacting. He knows how to find out what is wrong with our pets and give them the treatment needed to resolve the issue. His pricing is reasonable and fair. The issue we have with Coleman Veterinary is the FRONT OFFICE STAFF. These ladies (and I use that term loosely) have absolutely NO training in customer service and it is clear to me they are working in a vet's office because they do not have the qualifications to work anywhere else. They are rude, abusive and offensive in every way. I was shocked when I called with an emergency situation and was turned away by them. I asked to speak with Dr Coleman and was refused by the office manager. I understand this is a pet clinic, however I feel strongly the staff should leave their pets at home. I don't take my pets to work. I was really surprised when the clerk laughed at my son sneezing because of the cat they keep up front. She even said she could tell he was sneezing due to cat allergies. Recently my daughter made an appointment for our dog to be seen. My son took the dog to the appointment. I gave him cash for the office visit, not knowing the dog was going to get multiple shots. Imagine my surprise at the RUDE collection phone call the next day. I explained my payday was in three days and was told off by the clerk. I strongly recommend a change front office staff and it is clear I am not the only one who feels this way. I am shocked that Dr Coleman allows these types of actions to continue, but maybe he is unaware. I urge all unhappy clients to speak with him (if Brandy or Angie will allow it!) or write to him!
