We highly recommend this air duct cleaning company, from the first call we received excellent customer service and our technician Marshall was very; friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! Apparently, not one previous home owner had these air ducts cleaned, old pet hair laying in the ducts and they have not added sanitizers to kill all the bacteria, mites, dust which we are allergic to all so we decided to include anti-bacterial sanitizers onto our service today! We will soon be moving into this home, we hired a flooring company to sand and finish hickory flooring which created more dirt in the ducts! After Renovations it's especially important to have the air ducts and all the main lines cleaned out and sanitized, we also recently bought a new two stage furnace so this was perfect timing to get the air ducts cleaned out! Sure they vacuumed out the vents. Be prepared for massive unexpected sales pitch. Expected $200 job turned into a $1400 quote with a guarantee of $299 repeat full service visits. So be prepared for bloated sticker shock. Overall service wasn't I guess wasn't bad, but afterwards can't get over the feeling of what was it that I ended up paying up the backside for... and then the hey they said they would vacuum out something but I never saw anyone go anywhere near something that was promised to be vacuumed out. A manager offered discount also came out suspicious in the after thought as well. So overall I guess the quality of work and services offered may not be bad, but with the price tag, be sure to get a second opinion before accepting the work quote. read more

TLDR: Way overpriced, false advertising, and VERY unprofessional. One of the most bizarre customer experiences I've ever had. I got an ad in the mail for "$7 / vent" for unlimited vents. We live in a small apartment (7 vents) so I decided to call and verify before they came out and they said they have a 10 vent min which was understandable. I specifically asked if they could really clean my vents for $70 and the woman on the phone said "yes of course, just show the ad to the cleaner". She schedules me and the day before I get a message saying they need to reschedule, I'm ok with this so we reschedule for the next week. The next week rolls around and they have to reschedule again, I'm a little bit bummed but say ok and we reschedule. For a THIRD time they text me and say the cleaner can't come in the afternoon like we had agreed but could come in the morning on the same same day. The morning the cleaner finally shows up, I show him the ad for $7/vent and he's all annoyed, like I did something wrong. I was super confused. He takes a bunch of pictures and then writes up an itemized list for $1700....I tell him this is way over budget for us in a small apartment. He rolls his eyes and says "well these starred items are the ones that are super important" (starring half the items and amounting to $800). Again I tell him I saw the ad and that I spoke with their rep and they said that they could do some sort of cleaning for $70. He then goes on to try and use all kinds of technical jargon to explain why he can't do less than $800 (I'm an engineer and it was a load of BS). At this point he's frustrate and sits on my couch. He asks me, "well could you do $275 but this would only be a minor clean and wouldn't do much". I say no, I was anticipating paying the ad price for a vent cleaning. Upset he says, "well I can do the add price but I wouldn't be able to do anything but stick a vacuum hose down each vent" and he points to MY shopvac which is sitting in the middle of the floor. I say "I'm really confused, I thought I was just paying the ad price. I'm not sure why there is so much tension here. If you can't do the ad price then I'm ok. Like I don't need my vents cleaned". At this point he seems pretty frustrated and says "Look you owe me $70 just for coming out here!... I'm not mad... look... I need to step out" and then just walks out of the house upset and breathing heavy. He then comes back in and without a word starts packing up his things and leaves. I ended up sticking my shopvac house down the vents and calling it good. Most bizarre and unprofessional experience I've ever had. Didn't realize vent cleaning was like car shopping!! LOL read more

I would NOT and/or NEVER recommend Wasatch Clean Air to anyone who wants their air ducts cleaned. They advertise for cleaning the air ducts for $7 per air duct so if you have 10 air ducts the total would be $70 total. Not $170. Not $270 and certainly close to a thousand dollars for their visit. The first thing the tech does is show you a list of all things you really need to do. You can choose but they will not stay and do $70 for 10 air ducts. You will probably end up with $700 to $900 for about a 2 hour visit. The tech is apparently doing other things in your home but we noticed soon after the work is done and we paid about $800 we still had dust and small particles of dust, or whatever on our home floors both main floor and downstairs. Also they really don't have a customer service rep. The person would never call us back. The "office" person would not return my texts. Finally after weeks of texting she said she needed to talk to her "manager" and get back to me. Well she has not. Thinking the better business bureau should investigate them Believe they advertise dishonestly. Believe they work dishonestly. I do not recommend them to anyone. Try a different company to do your work. read more

Rather than clearly stating the offer honestly and transparently in the ad, when they arrive, they announce that they have a minimum that outweighs the typical number of registers found in a typical craftsman bungalow in Salt Lake City! Your cost doubles from your estimation. Once in your house, they are all about "selling up" their services! They wanted over $300 to clean our new furnace. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Received a coupon from Valpak offered $7 per vent and returns Said that rate was unlimited. Also advertised free main trunk line cleaning when you purchase the cleaning of all vents and returns. The back of the offer even says "commercial and residential". I had them quote my space and it was at least TWICE the coupon rate. They said because it was commercial, commercial it was DOUBLE the advertised rate. That is NOT what you coupon stated. False and deceptive advertising. My offices are a total of 9 vents and the square feet total is smaller than my house. BEWARE read more

LUCKY ME! Too bad they didn't tell me that they can't clean condos on the 3rd floor. I told the scheduler it was a condo. I had to wake my tenants up on a Monday morning that they didn't have to work. I'm extremely happy with our experiences with Wasatch Clean Air!! I highly recommend them!! They are honest, professional and very knowledgeable! The are detail oriented, provide detailed pictures of your air vents, provide all costs upfront so you know what the cost will be before any work is done. BEWARE THE BAIT AND SWITCH! We got a quote over the phone for $194 based upon the number of vents and returns. Our home is small, but it has two furnaces. When Austin was partially finish he discuss several options he highly suggested to us. If we had accepted all of them it would have been well over a thousand dollars. I told I felt like it was a bait and switch. We finally accepted a treatment for mites and ended up paying $423. After he left we found that he had not cleaned all of the returns or either of the mains. The ad states that one main will be free with full vent and return cleaning. Nor did he replace any of the covers we had removed for him. They have a well deserved "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau because they haven't responded to 3 of the 5 complaints received. After I called to complain someone named Eric called to talk to me. I expressed my concerns and he got testy with me and said he would talk to the technician and get back to me. Very disappointed with the service. Being a first time customer, I've had the worst experience with this company. I had them clean the air ducts which in the beginning was around $200 but ended up paying $1400 dollars which resulted in breaking my AC. It was a total Rip Off. Very bad customer service. Called them based on coupon in Valpak. Expected to pay $300 or so for number of vents that I had in our 1600 sf home. Tech cleaned ducts with a Makita drill driven extension and whip and a very large vacuum unit. Opened main returns in furnace room and then tried to upsell me a $1784 package of additional "recommended items" which I refused. He then made a fake phone call to the boss who gave me a 50% discount on sanitizing my system ("only $100") which consisted of spraying a hand held bottle of thyme scented fluid into the duct system. Final bill was $605. I am very disappointed and would not recommend. I have to believe the 5 star posts are bogus. Next time...have the total price and services in writing BEFORE anyone touches your .system. read more

We had a horrible experience working with Wasatch Clean Air. Like other reviews have already mentioned, not only did they fail to show up on the scheduled day and we had to reschedule our appointment for a different date (after making my dad already wait half the day), but they refused to honor their initial agreed upon quote (original quote - $208). Instead the service tech arrived at our house, took everything apart and removed all the vents, and then gave my 78 year old father an updated quote which happened to be $500 more than the amount originally quoted (updated quote - $722). At that point my dad felt trapped and worried that if he refused to pay, the tech would either do a poor job putting all the vents back together, or worse, leave him to have to clean up the mess and reassemble everything himself. My father reluctantly agreed to have the work completed. NOTE: The tech tried to talk my dad into paying an additional $498 to cover various other "essential" treatments but thankfully my father refused. As for the actual service, the technician (Andrew) did a very sloppy job cleaning the vents. I have a computer and a brand new printer near one of the vents. After the tech was finished it was covered with dust and debris. Worse still, Andrew chipped off a 2" piece of paint near one of the vents, and he completely broke the drywall surrounding our cold air return. He of course did not mention these damages to my dad, and my dad unfortunately didn't see them until after the technician had left. When I called the company to address the damage to our home as well as the huge discrepancy in the final price they said they would look into the matter and call me back. They never returned my call. I followed up with a second phone call a few days later and they informed me that there was nothing they were going to do to address my concerns. They justified the nearly 300 percent price hike and said it was a common business practice. I spoke with both the secretary and the manager, the manager in particular being very condescending, rude, and unwilling to resolve the matter. I asked about their "100% satisfaction guarantee." She told me she didn't have the authority to do anything about it and that I would need to talk to the owner. I asked to do so and was informed that the owner wasn't in and would call me back on Monday. That was a week ago and I am still waiting for him to call me. At this point we are now several hundred dollars in the hole with damaged walls and additional clean-up waiting to be done. Please take my advice (and the majority of the reviewers on this site) - save yourself the money, headache, and hassle and go with a different furnace/HVAC/vent cleaning company; one that prides themselves on a job well done. While a reputable company may give an initial quote a few dollars higher than Wasatch Clean Air's, as we found out the hard way, Wasatch Clean Air's quote is absolutely worthless so what does that few extra dollars matter? In the long run I am confident you'll be much better off avoiding this "bait and switch" company altogether. Not only does Wasatch Clean Air take advantage of seniors, but they are dishonest in their business dealings, careless in their work, and their "100% satisfaction guarantee" is completely meaningless. I scheduled a week in advance. They called and confirmed a day before. There was a 3 hr window of 1:00-4:00 for service person arrival. The day of the appointment I waited until 3:30, and called to check arrival time. They said let me call our technician to see where he's at, and we'll call you right back. We'll, they never called back. Never showed up. Also, they wouldn't answer my calls after that. They just totally blew me off. Absolutely the worst experience we have ever had with a service company. This company was invited into our home on the basis of coupons for $7 / vent. An hour into cleaning, the tech - Andrew - showed us photos saying our home had microbial contamination and needed more than $2000 in additional treatments. When my wife and I balked at this, he said it was "unsafe to continue without expensive treatment" and started packing his equipment to leave. I literally had to threaten a lawsuit and call the company in order to get Wasatch to finish the job - and then the still charged more than quoted. DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR. DO NOT LET THESE PREDATORS INTO YOUR HOME!
