The quality of work by the assigned Technician was horrible. I wish I could attach photos so that you could see the shabby work of the technician, but I will attach the photos in a public review of Zerorez. It includes leaving a return ceiling vent cover hanging from one screw; leaving tape on several ceiling & floor vents; lack of quality in the furnace trunk cutouts while also leaving all the cut pieces of duct laying on the furnace room floor; leaving the furnace filter out and lying on the ground while also leaving the filter door wide open; poorly attaching the cut-out covers, leaving day-light around each one (I had to fix each cover myself with aluminum duct tape to properly seal around the patch; incorrectly applying the vent cover tape and blowing debris all over my office; dragging the equipment across our hardwood floors and against door jambs; in the middle of the service I noticed the tech walking down the street away from our home. I went and asked him why he wasn't in our home finishing the project. He informed me that his equipment keeps overheating and tripping and he has to let it cool down, so while it cooled down he was getting his steps in - ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Scheduled a normal carpet cleaning, I will say that our carpet did have spots and is light, but when they showed up they informed me of how they could clean it but I'd need to spend extra - went from $139 special to over $900. I figured I was told they were the best from the carpet installer so they must be right. They said they would need to do 3 treatments on one area and 2 on the hall - I figured they would be there for a bit since it was three treatments - nope in and out in less then 45 min. When I called I was told that was the time for an average treatment. After they left, the carpet looked the same and some of the spots were worse, plus it smelled. I have had Stanley Steamer several times and it looked great every time, but I figured I would try this one since it was recommended. I will not go back to them, not only did my carpet look worse, I had to spend more money on rugs to hide the stains and deodorizer for the smell. Go else where, I feel they come to your home and must make money on the extra they sell and then don't do the extra. I never write reviews but I feel like I was done a real diservice by Zerorez. I hired them to clean carpets in a condo and I was under the gun to get it done for our new renter. They came out, cleaned the carpets and did a terrible job! Out of despiration, I took my bissell over and tried to clean the carpets myself. It was absolutely shocking the amount of dirt I got up with my 10 year old household carpet cleaner. I called Zerorez and they were willing to come back out. I opted to tell them no because of the timing issues. They agreed to refund me but for only a portion of what I paid (wouldn't reimburse for the water disposal and some other nonsense). It's a sad day in Draper, Utah, today. I have to give Zerorez carpet and rug cleaning a big, fat zero and take them to small claims court. Here's why: I had a white rug I wanted cleaned. It needed it needed to be taken offsite since there is a pad under it that I have no way to dry out once it gets wet. The Zerorez folks arrived and asked for payment upfront. (Now, really, that's your first RED FLAG!) They brought it back in the same tattered clear stretch wrap. (RED FLAG RED FLAG) when they rolled it out, it was dirtier than when it left and one section was damaged that was not damaged when it left my home. (see pictures if I can figure out how to attach them). Conclusion: They never even cleaned it nor did they scotch guard it as requested. I proved it to their representative who stood and watched me get on my hands and knees and clean part of the dirtiest spot with ease. I reminded Mia, their Rep. that it was super easy and took me, a 72 yr. old woman, less than a minute to do. I would not be able to do it if it had been scotch guarded. So much for "gotta love it guarantee". These made me wonder if carpet cleaning is a myth. Not sure if it was just our tech or the company as a whole, but we lost a LOT of money because of Zerorez. We just moved into a new home and asked for a basic cleaning. When the tech arrived, he found urine spots from a pet the previous owner had. He explained that doing just a basic cleaning would "reactivate" the urine, so he told us it wouldn't be safe. Trusting that the urine treatments would resolve the problem, we decided to go ahead and TRIPLE what we were planning on spending to get the carpets cleaned. Unfortunately, the cleaning did nothing but BRING OUT a smell of urine that filled the house for days. We scheduled a tech to come back and fix it, but he was extremely late, so we we called Zerorez and asked if they could guarantee to fix of the smell if we rearranged our schedule. They told us our carpet was most likely a lost cause and that the urine was probably in the sub floor. When I asked if it was worth sending a tech out, they said "no". So we cancelled the cleaning and decided to replace our carpet. When we did tear out the carpet, there was NO sign of urine in the sub floor or even the carpet padding. We ended up spending over $1400 on carpet cleaning only to have to spend $3000 on new carpet. When we called and asked for only a partial refund, the manager said no because "we didn't have a tech come out a second time to verify the problem". I would not recommend using Zerorez. I had my carpets cleaned wish is next to my tile floors. The solution they used striped the finish on my tile about 2 feet. I have applied a tile floor polish I have used in the past to my floors and cannot get the solution damaged tiles to shine. Now my tile is half shiny and half dull. Every time I walk down my hall or any where the solution got on the tile I'm frustrated with the service I received. I wish I could give them a ZERO star. read more

I thought the carpets looked and felt great; however, now that they have had a chance to dry, I see where the cleaning stopped. I told them not to go under the rugs but to go on top of them, but didn't expect to see the cleaning line outside of the rug area. I've had professional carpet cleaning in the past and maybe I have too high of expectations, but I feel you get what you pay for with Zerorez. They had a special going and I needed carpet cleaning for my rental. The technician was on time. He brought a trainee, I'm assuming. Seemed like training? They didn't talk much and were neutral on the friendly scale. It took maybe an hour to do 4 rooms and stairs. I paid $193. The results were "ok". At first glance it looked good, but when I stepped with shoe covers to inspect, my feet were soaked. There wasn't much of a fragrance, in fact it smelled like they used straight water to clean. Furniture indentations still remained as this was a totally cleared out house as I was moving out. This surprised me, but sort of made sense as to why the carpet was so wet. The machine they use doesn't have good suction. When the carpet dried, there were still dark shadowy areas of stains. See pic. Bottom line: If you need to show proof of professional cleaning to a property manager, use this company. But if you want a really good fresh cleaning, I'd shop around. read more

2nd time I've used these guys and the last. Don't use if you have stairs. Both times when dragging their big hose around it has chewed the paint off the corners of hallways, doors and especially stairwell. They have little protectors that are way too short and just fall over. Both times protectors fell over. Today I meant to watch over it and I wasn't there for the first 3 minutes upstairs and the hose had already chewed through the paint and into the sheetrock. And chewed paint away on 2 other corners. I tended the hose until the guy left. It's telling that the smaller blue hose is completely covered in paint (from people's walls). The guy did apologize, but I sense that this happens all the time. Our carpets were overdue for a cleaning so we decided to give Zerorez a try. Richard, our service technician, arrived the day of the appointment and got right to work. He started by reviewing the areas we wanted cleaned and providing us with an estimate, so we knew exactly what the cost of the cleaning services would be. The home office in Draper even emailed us a copy of the invoice so we could review it. I really appreciated knowing upfront what the cost was because I've been unpleasantly surprised in the past by other carpet cleaning companies. We had Richard clean all of the carpets throughout our home and the upholstery of our living room furniture. The carpets looked great after the cleaning and they dried quickly. I've had carpets cleaned before and hated that it was sometimes days before everything dried completely. After Zerorez cleaned, the majority of our carpets were dry within hours, and everything was dry by late evening. I also appreciated that Zerorez doesn't use any harsh chemicals and that no residue is left behind. I was also impressed with how great our sofa, love seat, and ottoman, turned out after being cleaned. They looked brand new! Cleaning the upholstery was expensive, but it was well worth it, given the great results. We are very happy with the quality of service and professionalism of Zerorez. They were a little more expensive than other cleaning options, but I think the quality of their work is worth the extra expense. Would recommend and will definitely use them in the future. read more

After an expensive air duct cleaning, they left our family room, kitchen and living room covered in a thick layer of dust plus 4 register covers, 1 air duct return off and the 2 dryer vents totally uncovered outside with the parts thrown about our okay area. Service tech shows up to do 3 room special and because there were some pet stains from a 2 lb chihuahua, dude tried up-sell my Wife an additional $200, to treat the pet stains. We refused to pay the extra and asked the tech to please just do the 3 room special. The lazy ass tech told my Wife that he wouldn't do the work we had hired him to do, stating that he "didn't want to get sick." They never showed up and then tried to blame me for the "cancellation" - even after I confirmed with them not even an hour prior. Posting this review at their repeated request to do so. Sure wish I'd looked at their reviews before scheduling with them. The technician was very nice and most of the cleaning went well. However, the price skyrocketed over the online quote due to the options recommended and the special services I needed. Pet treatments are an exorbitant $75/sf and I needed 3 of these. One in particular had a VERY poor outcome, resulting in spreading the stain over an area over 3x the size of the original spot. When I sent a picture and asked for them to come back, this was the response. "I can offer you something called a re-service! It means the same technician would come back out and work on the things that didn't meet your expectations! It would be free to set up under our 30 day gotta love it guarantee. Depending on what the technician assess es with the pet treatment it could have charges that they would let you know about. Do you want to set up a re-service?" I mentioned that I didn't want huge upcharges again but I did want the re-service it took them 2 weeks and another request from me to offer a time. I got busy at work and their text got lost in the stream and I neglected to respond in time. Now I'm outside the 30 day guarantee and they refuse to do anything. Definitely don't recommend and will not be using again. UPDATE: They messaged me again and apparently because of how much I spent I'm a "VIP" client and their guarantee is extended another 30 days. I'm giving them 1 star for customer satisfaction. I had 5 areas cleaned in my house (small areas) I paid $500 total, mostly for pet urine spots. They said they would spot treat each area for $50 extra each room. The cleaner spent a total of an 1 1/2 hour. My house smelled like wet dog for 2 days. And after it dried I still could see and smell the pet urine spots. I called the company to give them an opportunity to make it right, but they said the treatment was not guaranteed. I'm disappointed to have to give this such a bad review. The experience with my cleaning was great, however they convinced me to spend $400 on their microseal protection. A couple months later my dog threw up on the carpet and it was really really hard to get out. I thought this product was supposed to offer protection. So I called. They said over the phone it just helps stains not get as deep. Well this stain went all the way in. So then I asked what happens if a stain comes out. Will they come and clean it for free? Nope! They will still charge you. Then the only response they would give is to keep sending the warrantee link. But if they won't come out and fix the stain free of charge, doesn't that mean they aren't honoring the warrantee? This is such a scam!!! We heard about room specials from Zero Res on the radio. We have had previous experience with them that were outstanding...stains on a cream colored carpet that they removed better than anyone else who had tried. So we gave them a call. This time our experience was not nearly as good! Their tech Fernando arrived as scheduled and proceeded to lecture us on vacuuming often and how wonderful their service is, leaving no residue, etc. We spent 3 hours before he arrived moving furniture vacuuming, etc to have the best results for our money. After Fernando finished the basement rooms, my hubby noticed that the stairs weren't clean all the way into the corners (which we paid an additional $60 for) so he asked Fernando to re-clean them. Hubby assumed that the job was done well and approved the job without looking it over (bad plan!!). When the carpet was drier, I walked around and saw that none of the edges were cleaned. Walk-in closet that we were charged $10 to clean was cleaned in the center but not the edges. This was the case throughout the entire house. We saw an area that looks burned that wasn't there before and a stain that looks no different. This was on a Sat. We called as soon as we realized the situation which was before they closed for the day. We really didn't want to put everything back just to pick it up again! We didn't hear from them until Monday and they couldn't come back out until Tue. They sent the same tech out (which they say is their policy). He claimed that he couldn't do a good job because we didn't vacuum and there was hair in the carpet. He started to clean the walk-in closet again and asked me to check it. When I asked why he didn't clean the right side, he said I didn't point that out. Really? Should I have to point out every little thing? I asked him to clean it edge to edge! Shouldn't that be clear? Their manager assured me this was one of their best techs. I would hate to have one of their worst. That prompted a call to Zero Res to speak to a manager. Nasa decided to have Fernando leave because I was being disrespectful to him. Another manager, Audrey, said they would send another tech out today then later decided that it would be best for the Production manager, Brock, to come out. Of course, he isn't available until Sat. (A week after the initial cleaning) Meanwhile we are sleeping in our guest room because every general living area has stuff torn apart for the initial cleaning. I want to point out that the customer is not important to Zero Res. They did not care that we are inconvenienced, that our carpets are still dirty ($250 later!!) and instead wanted to put the blame entirely on us. Although they have a 30 day guarantee, they really don't like it if you ask them to re-do poor work. I had used Zerorez years ago and had been happy, so I chose to use them again. I should have read these reviews first. The cleaned my carpets, stairs and tile in the kitchen. I didn't have any large stains or spots on carpet, just generally dirty where everyone walked. After the cleaning it looked the same as before the cleaning. The grout in the tile was clean in some areas and not in others. I mentioned the grout to the tech and he said if the area had stains they more than likely were permanent and would be impossible to remove. After he left I went to work on the grout with a toothbrush and Clorox spray. After cleaning all the areas he left, my "impossible stains" were gone. When I called customer service they offered me $50 credit with them for my next cleaning. after another conversation they credited my cc back $50. So I ended up paying them $150 for there time to come spray water on my floors and vacuum it up. What a joke, never again using Zerorez. read more

So Zerorez sent out a coupon for carpet cleaning. The coupon was for $89 for 3 rooms. Well, I don't have 3 rooms I want clean. I have 1 room, and a hallway. I called zerorez to schedule my cleaning, and I told the lady that I was happy to pay the full $89 for my room and a half to be cleaned. She then proceeded to tell me that there was a $109 minimum, so I would have to purchase something else as well... so me paying full price for half the work was not good enough for them, they wanted to charge me for more. So not only was there a coupon completely false advertising, but then they wanted to charge me extra. That's terrible business, and they lost me as a customer before they got me. That is not okay. Update: the GM got a hold of me, and said they would make it right. They did. Their manager (I believe his name is Ryan) came out, and explained how the mixup happened, and they cleaned my carpet at a fair rate. It looks great! The people and the service is great. After the fourth time they called us throughout the week to reschedule, we figured they would show up on the finally determined date. My wife and I had moved ALL the furniture and vacuumed for them. An HOUR before the arrival time we were quoted, they called and gave us one final excuse that they would not be coming and would need to reschedule! The house was already a mess with all the furniture being moved and they cancel! We called a worthy competitor and let them know we were in an emergency due to Zerorez. Before we could explain why, the competitor listed the excuses that Zerorez had given us word for word and said they hear that ALL TIME TIME! I don't mind paying for good service. I do mind paying for services I don't receive. Zerorez charges by the room: $30 for up to 200 feet. Okay. If your room has 250 square feet, you get charged double, as if they were cleaning 400 feet. I asked if they had any leeway to adjust prices based on actual square footage cleaned. No. I needed 930 square feet cleaned. They wanted to charge me for 350 feet extra or about 30% more than the work they would actually do. They did not get my business. read more

Not only did multiple spots come back, but they completely ignored one that was within inches of a spot that they did re-service. Be careful of their up-sale techniques. They give you one bid, get you committed, and then, in our case, doubled the original bid-this is part of their business model. We have been using Zerorez for over 5 years now. Before that we tried several local carpet cleaners, but no one comes close to comparing with Zerorez. We have 3 big dogs & 4 cats and 5 years ago we had two kids (teens) at home. When they clean our carpet it literally feels brand new and believe me, my husband does the barefoot test when our carpets are cleaned because he hates the crunchy feeling left by other cleaning companies. I'm also sensitive to chemicals and when they clean it just smells clean, no chemical smells. My husband and I are Real Estate professionals and recommend Zerorez to all our clients. We wouldn't dream of letting any other company clean our carpets. Hands down Zerorez is the best carpet cleaning company out there! The "cleaning" was ineffective, their advertised charge is bogus (exceptions and add-ons make the bill much higher), and it left a residue on the carpet (?!). The gentleman who came to our house was very personable and a constant talker. He arrived a bit earlier than expected and I hadn't finished vacuuming. He told me not to worry about it and that his cleaning would take care of everything. He also talked all about how wonderful their all-natural cleaning solutions were. I believe that he was so busy talking that he wasn't paying attention to actually cleaning the carpets as I had to repeatedly ask him to clean near the walls and corners of the rooms. End result: the "cleaning" was pathetic and wholly ineffective as a cleaning AND IT LEFT A RESIDUE (our carpet felt crunchy when we walked on it the next day). Over the phone I was quoted $183 for a cleaning. That was fine and I recognized it was a quote and the amount would be more specific on site. I did not expect Peter, our service tech, to not listen though. I asked for two rooms to receive the pet treatment, he did four. There is a discount for a single room with food donation. I spoke to Peter about it twice and he still tried to charge me for the room. The third time I spoke of it, he did something about it. He persisted for the duration of the service to tell me how my house smelled sour because of pets. Thirty people have been through my home in the last week, and even before the cleaning, they were asked about the smell of the home. None could confirm Peter's assessment. It looks like a nice sales tool. Peter has a great personality and is an artistic salesman. I would not recommend him or the company though. I value straight forward communications and I don't feel I experienced that. I knew the price was higher than I wanted it, but I also know I have to pay for the work done, even if it was not what was requested. Other carpet cleaners have been able to get to paint off the carpet. But not Zerorez. There are still stains as well.
