I'm incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Aljammal who is one of the top doctors in the country for…read morethyroid RFA (radio frequency ablation) procedures. I was adamantly against thyroid surgery and pushed off treatment for several years until I found the Thyroid Clinic. I had RFA treatment on a large, toxic nodule three months ago and my thyroid is back on track now. No surgery or a lifetime on replacement meds! Dr. Aljammal is intelligent, personable, takes his time to explain everything and listens to your questions and answers them thoroughly. If you have any thyroid issues, I highly recommend!!!

Low rating is only due to the receptionist (Mavie and billing (Teresa). Jules is a great doctor…read more I contacted Teresa to ask questions about a bill. She was extremely rude and was raising her voice through our conversation. She kept talking over me and wouldn't let me finish a sentence. I was not understanding the shots they double billed me. She kept saying it to help keep my thyroid level accurate. Which I take pills for my thyroid levels. I even tried to say should I talk to the nurse instead but she was Adamant that's what it was for which it wasn't I figured out later. I sensed an attitude during the conversation and I tried to tell her "I'm not sure if your getting an attitude but I'm not liking how your talking to me" at this she's going crazy and I'm yelling back telling her I want to talk to a manager who Evers above her. And she hung up on me. I called back and she wouldn't answer. I then call the thyroid clinic and speak with Mavie. I explain what just happen and asked " I want to speak with that girls supervisor who Evers above her" Mavie started to automatically get an attitude stating " you are disrespecting Teresa by calling her a girl she's an older women " I laughed and said what should I have said. Mavie says " you should call her women You shouldn't be treating women like that " I told Mavie I wanted Bobby number which is supposed to be the manager. But they say they don't have number and need to email her. I then asked for the nurse. They can't get a hold of the nurse. Then I ask them to please have the doctor call me. One last thing during this conversation Mavie has the nerve to Accuse me of threatening Teresa and that I'm being threatening. I have never been treated this way ever... I'm almost 40. I told Mavie she better go listen to the conversation before she starts Accusing somebody of something they didn't do. I'll be honest if you can't trust the billing department or the front desk to ask, clear up and resolve concerns then it doesn't matter how go the doctor is. Thanks

The experience with this practice has been incredibly disappointing. Clinical assistants meet with…read moreyou first to get your medical history. In my appointment, the assistant obtained the history and then left the room and talked quite loudly to relay my information inhealth history to the provider in an open workspace with multiple desks and staff. That wasn't awesome as health information is protected and on a need-to-know basis, and so the open area exchange of info seems not in line with expectations. Then there were supposed to be orders sent for secondary diagnostic testing. There was a 3 week delay in the orders for this being sent/received. I then went to research the order status and found that my insurance didn't seem to require the secondary diagnostic test (and therefore wouldn't cover it.) I tried to discuss this with the provider but this was quickly dismissed. I then made a lot of calls to finally ensure the paperwork was submitted successfully (another several weeks and honestly not my job) only to hear that my insurance had denied the secondary testing. That was mid-July and the office/provider has yet to contact me to discuss (it's now mid-Aug.) This just isn't the experience I expected and I can't recommend this practice.

I've been trying to find someone (anyone) who can get to the bottom of my hormonal issues. For…read morecontext, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 14. I've been managing my thyroid issues for 13+ years now, but I still feel terrible constantly. I went to Justin Hewlett (no longer at this practice) because ever since the moment I hit puberty, my hormones have been out of whack. I was a bit hesitant to see him, because he specialized in sports medicine, and I'm not a skinny girl. I got labs done, and when I came back for a follow-up, the lab hadn't even sent him the results, so I had to show him the levels off of my phone. I was slightly alarmed to see that a good chunk of my results were considered "abnormal", with one hormone, the ACTH was sitting at 117 (the highest 'normal' number is 63). He had me test my levels again the following week just in case. To no one's surprise, the levels measured last time were still abnormal (with my ACTH rising to 177). He mentioned that my pituitary gland seemed to be overworking itself, but he didn't think the elevated levels were of any concern. I requested an MRI, as it's relatively common for the pituitary gland to have a cyst or nodule on it that would cause a hormonal imbalance. After probably about 6 months of going back and forth with the front desk trying to get them to submit a Prior Authorization for the MRI, I finally just gave up and never ended up getting the imaging. I ended up trying to switch providers to the SLC office, but the receptionist said that I wasn't allowed to switch providers if I had already seen someone at their group. Overall the experience with the Utah Endocrinology Associates was a giant waste of time, and I still feel utterly horrible physically after seeing them.

I was charged a $30 no-show fee for an in-person appointment I never scheduled or confirmed. Every…read moreone of my previous visits was virtual, and I was never told this one would be different. On top of that, they failed to send lab orders in advance -- something they've messed up before, causing unnecessary delays. I started trying to resolve this in early June. I called multiple times, and a staff member told me their manager, Rosie, would call me back. That never happened. Eventually, another staff member named Drew gave me Rosie's personal number. I spoke to her directly, but she said she couldn't help because she wasn't clocked in -- and I never heard from her again. I sent a written dispute on June 26 and asked for a response within 10 business days. It's now mid-July and still no resolution, no call back, and no accountability. I've already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will be submitting one to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection next. This office clearly has serious administrative issues and doesn't seem to care about patients once they have your money. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.
