So thanks, Washington Federal... you just lost a customer. I WAS banking with your Nampa Idaho branch (I am on old BofA customer that got absorbed by you guys) and since your bank decided to charge me a $25 over draft fee when I had funds in my account AND your teller (Frenchetta or something of that sort) did not want to assist me and said it was my fault that I was overdrawn (about $250 in my account with $130 that came out so I had $120 still in my account and then get hit with an overdraft fee!), I decided to close my account and take my business elsewhere.
When I told her Washington Federal could keep the $25 and I would close out my account, I got "Okay, just sign here and we will close this out".
REALLY?!?!? Is THAT the way customer service is nowadays? I am just shocked. I told her I couldn't believe she was actually closing the account.
"Do you NOT want to close it?" she asked.
"If you refund the $25, I will keep it open," I replied.
"I can't do that, it's not our error," she told me. Wow. So I took my banking business elsewhere.
Ten years a customer gets you nothing.
I actually have given them so many chances since they absorbed Bank Of America. The ATMs were so hit and miss, The ATMs wouldn't take some checks, their tellers are restricted in what they can and can't do (and have to call customer service to do anything other than deposits and withdrawals). read more
