Well , let's be real... no one wants to have to go to the gastroenterologist. The reason I am glad to be here is that I am having my consult for an endoscopy that puts me one step closer to weight loss surgery (there's a LOT of steps and this is one). Additionally, I am here to be screened for colon cancer after 2 of my friends under 40 have been diagnosed in the last 18 months. Can't be too careful. Scheduling was a mixed bag... the wait to talk to someone after you push the right button was kind of long, but I feel like if you know that going into it, it's ok because you can be prepared to wait. Once I did get on the phone with them, scheduling was painless and quick. They asked questions actually wanted to know WHY I was scheduling - not expecting me to know, since I am not a medical professional - and making sure they set me up with the right kind of provider. I initially was scheduled next month, but I called again to see if there was a sooner opening and there was! So, they set me up with that. They also made sure I knew how to get here. Getting parked and into the building was easy - suite 330, so regardless of which side of 2202 you park on, just grab the elevator or stairs to the third floor and follow the signs! Getting checked in as a new patient was surprisingly smooth. They mailed me my paperwork ahead of time, so having that done, I was checked in and waiting in plenty of time for my appointment. Wow! This place only has 1.5 Stars because one Yelp Elite was doing the Yelp Elite thing. Otherwise, Washington Gastronomy would have a SOLID 1-Star. I'm NOT through the process yet. However, it is almost impossible to make an exam appointment here. I received an appointment call which I missed. I tried to call back and no one would answer. I called for several days and just put on indefinite hold. When I finally got someone to schedule my G.I. Exam they said I needed a cardiologist clearance first. This was NOT mentioned in the initial exam. Such disorganization. Kaiser will hear about this. read more

This is sincerely the worst medical practice I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. Their communication is nonexistent. If you can get somebody on the phone (a big 'if'), they often know no information. I had to call repeatedly to get a referral submitted for an allegedly rushed MRI. I had to beg for a call back to discuss results. All of this to maybe see a provider (Sharon Barker - PA) who spoke to me for less than 5 minutes after I waited 8 months for my initial visit with her. read more

The practitioners that I did manage to see seemed knowledgeable and caring but , among other admin issues, the cancelled appointments and tests , poor and unclear communication and a patient portal from 1995 was just too much for me to go on trying to be a patient and get results. The organization, while significant in size, is a mess. I left for another medical group. read more

The schedulers were very kind and tried to be as helpful as possible. At check-in, the front desk staff was lovely, and the M.A. Trinity was incredibly sweet and kind. Sharon Barker PA-C was condescending, passive aggressive, and rude. Her notes did NOT accurately reflect our meeting. She treated me less than human and was frankly, unkind from the moment she walked in the door. If I hadn't waited over a month for an appointment with this office, I would have gotten up and walked out 10-20 seconds in. I thought "there's no way that this could get any worse" but it did. There seemed to be no "care" here and I left feeling more alone and scared than I did before my appointment. Patients come to these appointments on some of their worst days, having been cast off by overwhelmed Emergency Departments and/or PCPs who find GI issues outside of their scope. We are people who are scared, who are in pain, who are struggling to manage an "unseen" illness that greatly impacts our days - yet continue to support our families, to work, to maintain some semblance of a normal life - even as we know "something isn't right". I just wanted to be heard, respected, and helped. I worked in a hospital for 6 years. I would NEVER treat anyone the way that Sharon treated me. If I ever had? I would have expected to be IMMEDIATELY FIRED. I was hoping for help, for kindness, for understanding; for just one healthcare professional to actually listen and to take me seriously. I did NOT find that here. I left and cried in my car in the parking lot until I could see well enough to drive myself home. I'd appreciate it if the clinic manager could reach out. Thanks. read more

Huge middle finger to this clinic. I have a chronic digestive disease that requires frequent check ups and care and I've been waiting months for an appointment and had two months to go to get into one of their gastroenterologists and they called today to tell me that my appointment would have to be moved to next year because my doctor decided to take a vacation. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? So I ask why I can't see one of the 50 other ones they have and they claim they are all booked up until next year. So because this guy decides to take a random vacation, they think it's ok to screw over his patients instead of accommodating them and squeezing them into another doctors schedule. The doctor I saw ruled out my symptoms as ibs which I've known. I explained that my past eating disorder could be a factor and the solution she gave me was laxatives. I left feeling really defeated and the intake nurses were weird and didn't seem like they knew what they were doing. read more

If you are able to go somewhere else please do. This office rescheduled my virtual appointment twice already. Why wait until I am checked into my virtual appointment just to reschedule and offer me an appointment next year. This is all after a provider literally berated me. If you are able to go to a different facility please do. The practices of these big names should be criminal. read more

The Worse of the worst! This place deserves minus 10 stars. My 85 year old family member is falling apart, desperately needs to be seen. I call and am put on hold for 45 minutes! Someone answers says, "Hold on" puts me on hold again! They finally answer, give me a bunch of misinformation about where one of the doctors is practicing even though it says right on their website where he is practicing. So they say "Hold on" again. I am sent into the abyss. An hour later the horrific on hold music goes blank. I give up. I'm reporting these people. read more

I agree with the majority of these reviews. I was diagnosed with UC, which I know nothing about, and then told to take medication and schedule a follow-up with the doctor. I was surprised to find out that I couldn't talk with the doctor or nurses regarding my new diagnosis for four months. I couldn't pose questions regarding my medication or changing it after some of the side effects were causing me some serious pain (worse than the UC). I had let the customer service rep know that I needed to get in sooner to talk with someone if the nurse couldn't answer my questions. The rep answered with, "Your questions were answered, and if you want to get in sooner, you can call every day." My question was regarding whether or not I'd be on and off this medication for life, which did not get an answer to at any point. I asked her to escalate the situation to management because I didn't appreciate the way she was speaking to me, and I didn't think it was necessary to wait four months for a question about the meds they put me on. She typed something, and no one ever called me back. Days later, the side effects got worse, so I called again, and again, no one called me back. I stopped taking the meds out of fear and confusion, called to let them know, and they have not reached out. My pharmacist has also reached out to Wagi in attempts to get my medication switched. They do not care, and I'm shocked that they can continue to operate at all when they treat people with such contempt and neglect. Protect yourself and go anywhere else. At one point, regarding a completely different question, I was told to "Google it." read more

They made me wait 4 months for an appointment to see a painful issue on my rectum- they did not send me paperwork or the address to the clinic- because I was referred to them. I ended up having to go through phone records to find their number to finally get the location and arrived 2 minutes past my appointment time and was denied service, after waiting 4 MONTHS!! I even asked the woman on the phone, and she said if I got there before 10 minutes past my appointment time they would still take me. What a lie, bad communication, long scheduling times. I am so angry and sad that I have to now wait months again with this pain. Terrible service. read more

Hands the down, one of the most frustrating medical experiences of my life. I saw a Dr. there in Summer of 2024 to schedule an endoscopy for around 1.5 months later. 2 weeks before my procedure, during the preprocedure phone call, they discover I need to have it done at another facility that is scheduling several months out. I go for my procedure. Afterwards, the Dr. that performed it can barely give me 2 seconds while waking up from sedation to answer questions or give any interpretation. All I have is a MyChart note. I call to schedule a follow-up with my Dr. and I'm told that they won't be available for 3 months and only on 11/27, right after Thanksgiving. I grudgingly too the appt. Only to get a call today that the Dr. will be out of town and needs to reschedule me for February!!!! Forget it! I'll find anyone else. Every time they tried to suggest I should see one of their nurse practitioners. Then why didn't they see me in the first place? Now I need to explain my entire situation to the nurse practitioner that is just reading my chart for the first time today?! No continuity of care, terrible office/administrative practices and awful bedside manner after the procedure. Stay away!! read more

Came to this clinic at the most vulnerable, worst time of my life. They offered a colonoscopy + endoscopy, then told me there was nothing else they could do to help me figure out my gastro issues. After seeking a second opinion and offered various other diagnostics, like motility testing, we've discovered more of what is really wrong with me. Would not recommend as the entire time I felt dismissed and spent countless trips/calls following up and correcting information the front desk continually messed up like insurance info or PCM details. I also had to call/email the CDC to get information on a specific stool test the office wasn't even familiar with. This office does not have the experience needed to properly treat patients with the respect/dignity of the patient's quality of life. I do *NOT* recommend this office, even with the lack of GI docs available- I wouldn't go back or advise anyone I cared for to go to this practice. I'm still getting bills from their in office Labcorp partner mistakes. read more
