The medical care and staff are excellent. The problem is the billing. I started getting phone calls asking how I was doing, then I stopped answering them, Now, come to find out they were billing insurance $337 per call. Awful. Disorganized. Frustrating. I've been a patient at this clinic for five years, through three different doctors, two management teams, and four medical assistants. Despite all the turnover, nothing has improved. Phone calls go unanswered, questions are ignored, and communication is nearly nonexistent. If you're lucky enough to get an appointment, expect minimal effort, rushed care, and providers who don't listen. The most concerning experience I had was being pressured into an unnecessary procedure. During that discussion, I was told there was imaging of the area they wanted to operate on. There wasn't. That area had never been imaged. When I questioned it and reviewed my records, no such imaging existed. That completely destroyed my trust in this clinic. After five years of being dismissed, ignored, and receiving consistently poor care, I cannot recommend this practice to anyone. A healthcare provider should work to help patients recover and answer their concerns. Not leave them feeling like they're wasting the clinic's time. If you're looking for compassionate, organized, patient-centered care, I strongly encourage you to seek treatment elsewhere. read more

My husband received good (little delayed) care for his visits (3). However they schedule another follow up and basically said just cancel if you don't need it. Well guess what - we can't get anyone to answer the phone! Plus their app/portal is not user friendly at all and practically impossible to use and I am tech savvy. On hold to make an appointment in the incredibly tiny window (2nd of the month ONLY between 8am-5pm) for 40 minutes before they just hung up on me before ever answering. This happened 3 times on 2 separate phones so it was not my phone malfunctioning. My primary Doctor refuses to use the Doctor line in order to make the appointment for me. Meanwhile I am at an extremely high Cancer risk, just waiting around in a ton of pain for my current condition to worsen...I think they just want me to buy some damn burial insurance and wait to die. read more

I have no problem with the care I received this last year and the year before. It was very good and the staff and Dr.s were great. My complaint is with their ridiculous phone tree when you try to contact them and their even more ridiculous portal. Since they went to the "portal" trying to get any real information has become increasingly more difficult and futile. Also they have this service where a "care" representative contacts you by phone to ask you how you are and is there anything I need once a month. Now they have sent me a bill for that service. Gastro Health says I signed up for it. I did not. Paying for someone to ask you how you are once a month is a ripoff. . read more

There are a couple of staff that could do so much better. Getting an order for an ultrasound should be second nature, but mine got into a mess when one order turned into 2, the tech doing them only had time for one and yet my provider ARNP DEE OR DARELLE WALKER never checked to find out why the second one never got done. 3 months later after i mention it to her, she deals with it. When I ask what's happening she gas lights me and gets facetious with me. I show disdain and complain but it all falls apart. I decide to change providers as I feel Dee doesnt care and the receptionist there says I'm not allowed to change providers. Such stupid little things can make for a very unhappy relationship. Then Dr Cumings does my procedure decides to downgrade me from high risk to low without any supportive evidence. Just a very unhappy few months with this company. Shame...new building, new app system, new doctors on board but still bad with basic care. Here are some helpful contacts for those of you reading this who decide to go further with the poor care they are receiving. I contacted CMS at the HCA building, they oversee medicare and medicaid - in particular I spoke to Jonny Shults 360 725 9447 in Olympia and he suggested I file a grievance with the Gastro Health clinic manager, Staci Yarrington. You have to get a receptionist to patch you through to her voicemail and you leave your details. Sge is suppose to get back to you but so far hasn't bothered. Her phone number is not made public to anyone. Bah humbug. So I contacted Medicare ombudsman advocacy and they told me to call BENEFICIARY ADVOCACY CENTERED CARE-QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ORG. (BFCC-QI) TEL - 1 888 305 6759. they will take notes of your complaint and give you a filing number and can even arrange for someone to call the clinic to ask questions. One of their advocacy people tried leaving phone messages with Ms Yarrington but never got a response. Wonder if she really exists. The HEALTH INSURANCE ADVISOR (SHIVA) can help with insurance questions they are located at the senior center in Olympia. WMC (washington medical commission) can also help (with regards doctors only) and you can send them an email to tell them your story. They will help with how to file a grievance against a nurse which you can't do through them. You can call them 1 360 236 2706. And of course, you can change to see another provider. Lots in Tacoma, only a short drive away. If you are on medicare you can change your insurance plan at open season of course. Hope this message not only helps someone down the line but helps Gastro Health to pull themselves up by the bootstraps. read more

I had my colonoscopy at Gastro Health this morning. I thought they were very efficient in getting my in and reviewing my past and current medical conditions. Took me to my room and i met with the different members of my care team to explain different parts of my procedure. My big complain is this...When i woke up in the procedure room i was looking around for my doctor calling her name. I thought she would come over to me and explain the results of the procedure. As i specifically told her i had diverticulossi and wanted her to take pictures of them so i could see if they had gotten worse over the past 5 yrs. I did see her at the computer in the room typing in the results in my cart. She NEVER came and talked to me but ran out of the room to her next patient. So all this did was leave questions about her note in my chart " Mild diverticulosis of the Whole Colon " I am worried and good luck getting her to explain anything about my procedure. I am sure that they have patients booked at every 45 to 30 minutes apart. I am sure she had no choice but to run out of the room on to her next patient....Shame on Gastro Health for putting profit over the well being of your patients....Shame Shame read more

My doctor said guess what..... I am like WHAT did I win something or any I getting money?? He was like.. huh NO but you don't need this done until really next year , but since you are having some problems you should have it done . Yes a Colonoscopy... So I went here for it, being not a great Distance from where I live. The place is really nice and clean the staff is very helpful , friendly , very knowledgeable. There are Several Specialists here. They also answered my questions and told me before and after care. They have a coffee and small eatery for everyone at the front and plenty of parking. Upon entering Gastro Health, you are greeted by a sign that says "This is a no violence zone. Any abusive language or actions will result in appointment cancellation." This essentially says it all! 1. They have angered clients often enough that they feel the need to make this announcement (buckle up, it is going to be a rough ride). 2. They have all the power and are not afraid to wield it. As far as I can tell, they are the only clinic in the area that offer these service, so most practitioners are referring their patients here. You get the experience one might anticipate when there is no competition. The administrative staff is overwhelmed (under staffed for the volume of clients). There is a long wait for everything, starting with the telephone to connect with them. For example: I contacted them about my referral the first week of August. The first appointment I could get for a required assessment/evaluation appointment was the middle of OCTOBER. During that visit I learned that the first appointments for a colonoscopy was the first week of January, yes, the following year. The word "colonoscopy" strikes fear in the minds of most. Dealing with Gastro Health will only reinforce that it will be a negative experience. This comments relate only to the administrative aspects of this practice. I have not had the procedure yet, so I can't comment on the medical staff. read more

The providers here are fine, but the billing has been a total nightmare. I had two visits (a consult and an endoscopy procedure) early April 2023. In May, I was billed for the consult, which I paid before I realized Gastro Health (or I guess their third party billing service) had not even billed my secondary insurance. I called the billing service about this and was told they'd submit the claim to my secondary insurance and that I'd receive a refund within 30 days. It's now August, and I've gotten nothing back, nor has that claim been submitted. To add on to this mess, within the last month, I've received two more bills (one for the anesthesia and one for the surgery itself) -- one of which was not billed to my secondary insurance... yet again... and the second of which is not matching up with what both of my insurances have paid. Every time I call their billing service, I'm given vague responses with no real resolution, and I can't believe I'm still dealing with this -- months after my procedure. I was supposed to have a follow-up appointment and continue care with Gastro Health, but I'm so glad I cancelled because of the billing alone. read more

This review is for the phone system, because if you can't even contact them, high-quality care is a bit beside the point. I needed to reschedule a routine followup appointment. I was well within the preferred 48-hour window. I was on hold 38 minutes, I kid you not. MORE than half an hour. (Can I bill them for my time like the bill me for theirs?) This was just to speak to a human and change an appointment. Hire more humans and get more phone lines? It's worked for decades in places that care about their clients/customers/patients. This practice has some serious billing issues. I had a procedure performed there SEVEN MONTHS ago and have been in contact with several billing 'teams' to discuss financial assistance. While I'm fully aware I'm not guaranteed any financial assistance, I most certainly don't expect my credit to be affected because of their lack of organization. Not only have I had to call over a dozen times to ensure my account doesn't go to collections, I've been given the run-around by every single person I've spoken with. Nobody seems to know anything, and they don't even take care of the billing in-office; it's some sort of call center that takes calls/inquiries. To top it all off, I've now received calls from TWO collections agencies. Again, if I had just been told that financial aid wasn't available, I would have set up a payment plan and been done with it. But waiting SEVEN MONTHS to hear back and then having my credit score affected because of a lack of communication on their end? RIDICULOUS!!!! If you want a straight-forward billing process, DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS OFFICE. Oh, also...the issue in question was a follow-up procedure 2 years after an initial screening, and instead of just scheduling the procedure, I had to come in and PAY OVER $100 (AFTER PRIVATE INSURANCE) just to have Dr. Xie tell me (essentially) 'yep we need to do the procedure we already knew we needed to do'. I actually waited two weeks before writing this review because I wanted to make sure I was level headed and not in my feelings. About 3 weeks ago, I was in the ER because I was throwing up and saw blood in my vomit. I spoke with my primary care doctor and she sent the referral and marked it as urgent. After a few days, my doctor checked in on me and I told her I still had not been contacted. A week later, on Wednesday, someone from Gastroenterology called to set up my appointment. They said they had a cancellation for Friday at 8:45 am and asked if I wanted it. I told her that mornings were not good for me because of my job. I'm a paralegal and most of my deadlines are in the morning. She confirmed that if I filled out my paperwork online, my appointment from check in to check out would be 45 minutes. I immediately went online and filled out my paperwork. On Friday, I arrived at 8:35 am. 10 minutes early. I was seen promptly and met with the doctor. From there, all their services had gone from a 5 star rating to a 1 star rating. I was told to take a seat and someone would call me up to be scheduled. The lady at counter 2 called me up and asked if I wanted my endoscopy in October, which was the next available with the doctor I had seen. I told her that she actually said the next available with ANY doctor. The lady at the counter was rude about it and said well, it's not going to make much of a difference because the soonest available was September 15, so I took it. I had asked her about my labs and she told me to have a seat and someone would call me in. I asked how long it would be because at this point, we were already at 50 minutes and I needed to go back to work. After 30 minutes of sitting down in the waiting room, I walked back up to the counter. The lady at counter 2 was gone so I went to counter 3 where two people were sitting down. I asked them for help and she asked me for my name. She typed something into her computer and then told me to have a seat. I told her I had to go back to work and asked again to be helped. She said it would be a few more minutes. When I realized I had been there FOR OVER TWO HOURS, I became livid. I walked past the scheduling people and went back to the front desk to ask what was taking so long. The office supervisor said she didn't like when patients had to wait this long so she'll go figure it out. She literally walked away and came back within 30 seconds and said, "Sorry, the medical assistant didn't give you the paper for the labs because you're a Kaiser member and you're not even supposed to be here." WTF. I asked for their names and the supervisor told me it was "unnecessary" at this time because she would handle it. Well, how was she going to handle it without knowing the entire situation or knowing who I was dealing with? I walked back to tell her who I was speaking with and asked if there was another facility I could go to. This place is a joke, and if it wasn't for this place being the SOONEST available, I would refuse caee here. It's hard to imagine an office being ran by incompetent people, still surviving. But now that I've read some of the other reviews, I can see why. There is no competition so they can lack in the care and the compassion of their patients. It's sad... people have to come here because they already don't feel good and instead of taking care of them and doing their jobs, we're brushed under the carpet. I did receive an apology from the doctor I saw, which I appreciate, but I have zero trust and zero faith in any of the admin staff. Terrible customer service. read more

Doctor and staff were mostly kind of bland, not warm and receptive but seemed basically competent. Unfortunately, this did not apply to the anaesthetics nurse! I had indicated a wish to attempt it without anaesthetic. When she learned this, she looked at me critically and condescendingly, sort of like, "Oh, God, you're one of THOSE idiots!" She made little eye contact and was not responsive to my comments. At one point, she needed to move my arm and instead of asking me, she GRABBED my arm and started moving it! I yanked it away and still she didn't tell me where she wanted it, and when I "failed" to get it in the "right" position, she again grabbed my arm and put it where she wanted it in a jerky and very disrespectful manner! Later during the procedure, it became apparent that my colon was twisted in ways that made doing it without anaesthetic very difficult for the doctor, I agreed to the anaesthetic. She looked incredibly smug and gave me a short lecture on why this is the right decision. She also lectured me earlier about blood pressure, even when I told her I'd been to the doctor and was starting on BP medication as soon as I recovered from this procedure. Once I woke up, I was in intense abdominal pain! No one told me this was a possible outcome/complication and I was given no advice or assistance on handling it except being told that I could go to the ER just in case they'd perforated my colon! Nurse Ratched appeared again to give me another lecture on anaesthesia and I told her I didn't need the lecture. She said she wasn't lecturing me. I told her she was and she finally shut up. I was not informed of the drugs I'd been given during the surgery, except that they were "blood pressure medications" and later an "anti-nausea medication," but other than the names of the drugs on the discharge paperwork, there was no information about the function and potential adverse effects of the drugs I was given, so nothing vaguely approximating informed consent. It took almost two full days to get rid of the pain, which was clearly caused by the procedure (gas trapped in the intestines after removing the scope). They didn't even call back to check and see how I was doing. I got the impression that mostly they did not care. All in all, I found the experience humiliating and infuriating. I will never be going there again, and if at all possible, will never, ever get a colonoscopy done again! BTW, of course, there was no problem detected by the procedure. All the findings were normal. So it was all for nothing. I wish I had followed my instincts and simply refused to do it! Or at least demanded an anaesthetic nurse who had some capacity for empathy! read more

Galina (my spouse) was examined and diagnosed by Dr. Li (the replacement for her previous Gastro Enterologist (at Gastro Health), and prescribed a new medication to continue her acid reflux treatment. It has been a week and she has yet to begin her medication because her prescription was not called into Kaiser Pharmacy on Lily Road. Initially there was a confusion about the pharmacy because there were 2 pharmacies (Kaiser and Fred Meyer) listed on her old record. This was clarified and conveyed to the Nurse on duty at the time who assured us that it would be called into Kaiser. That was never done. So today, in our third attempt to get her medication, we went the Gastro Health office, got a hard copy od the prescription and walked it over ourselves to Kaiser Pharmacy. So now we are awaiting the call from Kaiser Pharmacy to tell us the medication is ready for pickup. There will be no lapse in billing collection I'm sure ! read more

sometimes, I wish the star ratings could be divided up. the phone system still deserves one star, the staff could easily be 4 star. here it is around 2 years later and I skipped one whole year of the colonoscopy nightmare... so here comes colonoscopy number 2 (instead of number 3). I have a new PCP and she referred me to GH for the procedure and my mind went straight to a colorful 4 letter word and thought with serious anger. sigh. I had GH contact me to set the appointment up and the person that called I'd say was "dumb as a box of hair" in every sense. I tried to get her to understand I have questions that need answered (like how do you deal with high anxiety patients). while I didn't expect her to have the answer, I did expect her to put me in touch with someone that could answer my questions. I again tried to get through to this person's manager and, of course, that went bad. I don't recall the time frames but, by the time she (assistant manager for GH) did get back to me I was back to looking elsewhere to take care of me even if that meant going down to Centralia or up into the Tacoma area. the assistant manager was pretty amazing to deal with when I finally got her on the phone. to help shorten this, I ended up with an office visit with a PA (like a month later!?!) and thankfully, that visit also went well. questions answered, better details on the procedure and an ironclad guarantee that I would NOT wake during them doing their work and I wouldn't be pushed out the door before I was coherent and able to stand on my own. the really good part is I got in just 3 days later for the next nightmare. my anxiety was completely unchecked and only got worse as time went. I wish I knew the nurse's name as she did so well with me. she didn't pander, stayed on task and was able to (slowly) coax me into what was needed. a nurse from the adjoining curtain even stuck her head in to offer assistance if it were needed. the staff here really does care! the anesthesiologist came through pretty quick after that and said very little. looking back on it as I type this out, he might've been uncomfortable dealing with someone panicking. the doctor came in a little while later to get the form signed for consent. again, here I am mid-meltdown and he states, "if you're not up for this we can do it some other time." while I wasn't able to speak, my response let him know we needed to proceed. he got the forms signed and then stated (my words, not his)... "that's about enough of that, let's get you calmed down." I needed that so much at that moment. thank you Doc! the rest of it was a blur. I do remember standing on my own but, I'm unsure if I dressed myself or not. LMAO. the only thing I can really say bad about the visit (not counting the panic I was going through) is my wife wasn't really informed of anything other than, "we're having a little trouble getting him to wake up. it'll probably be about 20 minutes before we bring him out." along with instructions where she would be collecting me. in short, if you can make it past the horrific phone system, they do have some caring staff. they just need to fire the people that call people and answer the phone. and seriously! get a better phone tree set up. read more

I have had several colonoscopies at Gastro Health and have also had two colon resection surgeries as a result. My latest was in March of this year and since then I have had bowel movement problems. I was hoping to go in and see my doctor in person. After waiting on hold for twenty minutes we were told to go talk to my General Practitioner. I chose to go with no sedation. That was my choice. Three years ago I had this test done with topical sedation. It was not fun but it was not that bad. This time, no one offered me any topical anesthetic. No one informed me the scoping would be done without topical anesthetic. There was no communication about the change in procedure that I was about to go through. After the doc said it was a difficult procedure. Hello, why did you not warn me you no longer used topical anesthetic or offer me any alternatives? Done with this group. Traumatized. Disappointed. No one seems to be in charge. Since going here, I have had nothing but issues with their billing department. Their services in the front end of the clinic are excellent; it's their back support system of billing that is atrocious! Lost payments of over $800 that they cannot find are unacceptable. The number of phone calls to their billing department to try and fix this issue, with each person telling me something different about what they are doing to repair the problem, is mind-numbing. After the latest phone call today, August 14, 2023, to the billing department, my next step, if not repaired by August 25, 2023, will be to file a complaint with the Attorney General of Washington State. At first o wasn't sure about the personality of the gal who checked me in. I do want to say that I've had quite a few hospital experiences in my life, enough where bed side manner is my number one priority. The associate who Checked me in for my colonoscopy also did all my Prep work. This is where she really shined. The day of my procedure the weather was pretty sketchy, I think their last appointment was maybe late due to the rain snow mix that day? I think this caused a bit of rushing around for a bit. Anyway the associate really took good care of me once I was in the bed and getting ready to go in. She saw to my comfort, and gave me extra blankets which meant a lot. The anesthesia experience was quick and comfortable and I was done before I knew it! Inside the building they have a very decently appointed cafe. Though due to COVID concerns, you can't eat in the lobby, this is meant for your driver. My wife got a coffee and sandwich for her wait and found them both satisfying. All in all, I'd say GA is pretty solid, my next visit will be a whole different thing now that I know what to expect. read more

I have severe diverticulitis that oddly enough was not found on a CT Scan. My last Colonoscopy at this facility was plain awful! This time, I had Dr.Wagner and she was amazing. She came and talked to me at bedside, then in the OR, and once I woke up. Dr. Wagner also called me several times to check up on me and make sure I understood the post op orders. It is a shame she is retiring because she is exceptional. read more

I am frustrated beyond belief. I still need a GI doctor but have felt so unheard by the provider and have been given bad information by office staff. The communication with provider is terrible and they do not hear the meaning of what you are trying to say, the earliest office visit is always months away, they tell you to go to the ED if you have concerning symptoms but myself working in an ED know that I would not meet the criteria to be treated in an ED. Update of my review the day of my procedure there. Only time going, and I had some similar experiences as other reviewers. That's kind of rare for a professional Medical Practice. So, I met with the MD that was going to originally perform a colonoscopy, the week before, briefly. Nothing special, or out of the ordinary. After my experience with the "team" of Dr. Harpreet Bral, the anesthesiologist, and the ex-Army male nurse, who casually mentioned he killed people in Afghanistan and told me he was an atheist. I went home sore, and felt rushed like many of these other reviewers. Everything is normal, but then I wrote my review the same day, and they also sent me a link asking me to sign up for the Patient Portal and give feedback there, and a link to a survey. So, I posted my honest version of my experience, and sent them a link to my review on Yelp for them to see that there are some common negative themes. 2.5/5 stars, out of 17 reviews for a Medical practice. The next day they deactivated my access to the patient portal. Not surprising, since it was a negative review. I would have never returned anyway. It was close to my place, and that's why my Nephrologist referred me there, since I was on emergency chest catheter dialysis, and they knew, but forgot to tell me that I only need to consume half of the horrible concoction of a liter or more. It gets better. Today, over 3 weeks later, today I get a letter from them, telling me "due to the inappropriate comments I made at your recent office visit and procedure, we will no longer provide you anymore care, except for the next 30 days." The arrogance and audacity of these people. That's why I believe all of the negative reviews here and elsewhere. I actually documented all of their communications, and took screen shots of everything. I was actually near death and still working 2 weeks prior, and was still very sick due to total kidney failure, because of a genetic disorder, and they treated me like this. Please do not go to their practice. They are concerned with how many patients they can quickly push through, and profit. Pretty clear this is retaliatory. Now we will see if I can prove it. And I may have them on a HIPPA violation, a real one. Not the huge broad meaning of the HIPPA laws that most people think are true. Don't support these unethical profiteers, friends. Please. I would consider looking elsewhere for your gastro needs. I saw Dr. Cumings and he's the most disgruntled doctor I have ever met. I felt as if I was wasting his time. Depending on your age he'll just blow things off as being normal. Needed a procedure done and the wait was 3 months. I called around and got in the following week. They also charge your insurance ridiculous amounts. It was a first time visit, I can't imagine what it would of cost for the actual procedure. I was billed what my insurance didn't cover which is normal. However, that new patient visit cost 6 times more than the procedure I got elsewhere. The staff in the front are also miserable people. Maybe this whole practice is full of people who are disgruntled? I was early, had everything I needed, and they were still very short with me. If don't like what happened during tour first visit don't feel obligated to keep going to this place. Call around. Even to Tacoma. Seriously, you'll find more professional doctors and these places won't charge ridiculous amounts. Chi Franciscan had wonderful staff and doctors. Their wait times are also short. If you need an appointment more than likely they'll see you in a week or two. Also, this place doesn't have an online payment method. The administrative staff at Washington Gastroenterology clearly is incompetent. I've been trying to deal with WAGI since a referral in mid-May. There is NEVER an answer at scheduling. They force calls into VM and then they don't respond to the VMs. After 2.5 mos of them just not doing their jobs they finally called me out of the blue and stated they had just received my referral. I have caller ID, missed call, and VM on every line, so I know they did not previously try to contact me. To cap off their unprofessional approach I just received a letter stating that they "have been trying to get in touch with me " and that unless my GP refers me again, they're dropping the referral because I've been "unresponsive." Isn't there anywhere else that doesn't suck this badly that Olympia physicians can send patients? I'll drive to Tacoma if I have to at this point... read more

Had my procedure performed today. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist, nurses, technicians, anesthesiologist and doctor (Dr Cumings) were true professionals. Informative, explaining everything. A nurse took the time to walk me outside. Very caring staff! read more

Dr Katharine Wagner is remarkable. Unlike every other doctor that I have seen in my long medical experience, she is unique. I have had five colonoscopies over the past 8 years. Two with doctor Wagner. Two with one other doctor from gastroenterology associates, and one from a third doctor. All were when I was a patient at various times at St Pete's. My first experience with doctor Wagner was so great and so different that I asked her if I could become a regular patient. I have a severe case of diverticulitis. She saw me before that first surgery, as they all do. However, she spent a lot of time. She was very knowledgeable and went into a lot of details and questions. She also saw me post surgery and detailed my short and long term care needs. Every other doctor only saw me briefly before surgery and sent PA's following. Over three or four years I have seen her personally and she has ordered a multitude of xrays and tests to ID what is going on. Finally, I had symptoms and it was time for my 3 year follow up meeting with her in July. Because I am high risk, she wanted to operate at St Pete's short term care facility. First of all, in July she gave me a December date when she would be on duty at the hospital. The surgical schedulers called to finalize the schedule in about September. Dr Wagner herself called me at home two days before the date, to review details that we discussed in July and risk factors. The morning after I checked in and was prepared by the nurses she came in again to see me. She did the procedure, all clear . After the procedure in the post OP area, she came to see me again. She had already written her notes, which I read on my chart. They were exactly what she told me in post OP. About a month later I got a letter from her with long tern care instructions. That is not normal medical treatment from any doctor that I have had in Olympia since 1979! She is truly exceptional in her care. read more

My experience was very different from others. It was easy to make an appointment for my colonoscopy. I called a few days before my appointment to check on my insurance coverage. Everything was fine and I didn't have a prepayment. The day of the procedure, the front desk assistant was very nice and professional. The intake nurse reviewed my history and explained the process. She was very attentive and brought me a warm blanket (even offered to get me a second if I wanted it). Dr. Wagner talked to me before the procedure. She asked good questions, listened, and reassured me as I was anxious about the whole thing. She and her nurse team did a great job. They joked with me and made the whole process really easy. 1. Insurance company referred me to GA - preventative 2. GA said everything would be covered by insurance (Was assigned to Dr. Zhang - never met or talked to her so she could be an excellent practitioner.) 3. 2 weeks before procedure insurance informed me that Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) would not be covered because I'm not high risk 4. Did checking on internet and it seems that conscious sedation is standard care with MAC being something new that is adding over a billion dollars to what companies like GA can make 5. Tried to contact GA - had trouble getting a straight answer 6. Canceled my appointment and procedure 7. Received call from GA explaining that MAC is what they use for everyone and that, if the insurance company doesn't pay, they do it for free (hmmmm?). Getting refusal of coverage from insurance company is standard practice and part of the process for them (supposedly). 8. I asked why I had not been informed of any of this or had any communication about sedation. Also nothing on their website or paperwork they sent about only using MAC. No answer. Happy this conversation did not happen the day of the procedure . . . or a hefty anesthesiologist charge show up on a surprise bill! read more

Do not waste your time here! I have been in pain for 3months.I call and make an appointment and a few days later i get a rude voicemail saying they are gonna cancel it because of an issue with one of my 3 insurance. I call them back the lady that answered was no help and rude! Thank goodness she transferred me and the lady she transferred me to was so helpful apologized and one of the nicest people there! and corrected there mistake with my insurance. day of appointment I call them we'll ahead to let them know i'm running 5 mins late. The lady on the phone was so rude and said they will see if they can still see me ! i get there the doctor was rude asked me two questions and just gave me a perception! needless to say I will be going else where i did not feel comfortable with a doctor just giving me a perception with out knowing what's going on! read more
