The water line feeding our refrigerator / ice maker burst releasing water onto and under our hardwood floors. The water proceeded to run down into our basement damaging insulation and adding a layer of water to the basement floor. Once we were able to stop the water from continuing to flow onto the floors, we immediately called Washington Water Damage. Jeff came out that evening to perform a high level assessment of the damage. The very next morning he had an entire crew at the house and they began the process of recording the damage for our insurance, performing the demo work needed to remove the damaged flooring and preparing the damaged areas for the drying process. I could not be happier with the performance of Jeff's team. They were efficient, clean and extremely professional. They constantly kept my wife and I informed of each step so that we always had a solid understanding of the process and what to expect next. Once Jeff's team had completed the demo and drying process, Mike came directly out to the house to assess the restoration stage of the process. He handled everything from ordering new flooring materials to providing the proper paint for the drywall areas that had to be replaced. Once the materials for the flooring arrived from the manufacturer, Mike's team promptly began their work on the restoration. I was blown away by how quickly the team was able to bring everything back to the way it was. The quality of their work was excellent. The new hardwood floors that were installed looked so much better than they did prior to the damage. The drywall and exposed insulation looks great. My refrigerator leaked and ruined my laminate flooring. My insurance agent recommended Washington Water Damage and they came out immediately and started getting everything dried up. I had no idea the amount of damage this caused until they started pulling up the floors, it was really bad and it was determined by my insurance agent that I would need my entire floors throughout the house replaced as well as kitchen cabinets, drywall, etc....I was overwhelmed, but Scott said they not only do water remedy, they can do everything to get my house functioning again including packing out all of my furniture, belongings and my 125 gallon fish tank and storing them while the rebuild took place. So far so good! We're going on the second day of work, but so far I'm super impressed! Well technically I've been contact with them since last Friday when jeff came out to look at the water damage. He took all the necessary photos and used that handy gadget to measure the water in the walls I know how cool is that, didn't even know something like that existed!) then got in touch with STATEFARM, bam we're a go, we've got ourselves a claim! K fast forward to this week, pod delivery Tuesday night, he postpones work until Thursday; not sure what the reasoning was on his end, but it worked out beautifully because what cool mom wouldn't want to have a last minute pod party in their driveway! yes people it was a thing! Flashy lights, glow sticks, good music and slippery socks, what could go wrong! and as far as liability reasons, this was totally hypothetical!! K back to what an amazing company this is, they're here right on time both yesterday and thismorning. Yesterdays crew was Jesus, Juan, Marta and Logan. These guys worked there butts off and worked well together. Like you could tell they liked there job. They packed up everything so carefully even tho it's all junk, haha I was impressed! House fire- This company showed up on site. We didn't know they were coming, they just went inside our house without permission and started taking whatever they wanted. We didn't know they were coming, and we were still clearing out our property. We very obviously had a separate area of GOOD, not damaged property like a tall toolbox, brand new in the heavy box engine pull, Car parts, at least 6 racks of empty shelving, etc. All these items were nowhere near the fire damaged stuff. We clearly had the fire damaged pile in the middle of the garage. They even knew the stuff wasn't fire damaged because they set aside some of it like the toolbox. But they took everything else. We asked "where is the rest of the stuff that was obviously with the toolbox?" The next day they did bring back some of the car parts, but the brand new engine lift in box was gone. And when they came back to do more demo and clean, the crew was rude, and their attitude was blatantly rude. And they didn't clean the master bathroom at all. Water heater burst on weekend. Basement flooded, ~600 sq ft of affected area. I called them to dry it out, and figure out next steps. What I liked: (1) responsiveness of the crew that came out to set up the equipment to start drying out the basement, (2) friendliness of the crew What I disliked: (1) high cost, business model only works when placing high reliance on insurance to pay costs, (2) abrasive and condescending owner, (3) lack of transparency in estimation. (1) high costs. For example, (1a) they charged $266 for "add personal protective equipment in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines." Two individuals came out, wearing cloth masks, t-shirts, and jeans. They were dressed like regular guys going to Home Depot. (1b) on the estimate, they charge $32.50/day+tax to rent the Viking EX2200 air mover. Brand new, this device is $174.99 (https://www.arsupplyco.com/product-p/55v2200ex.htm), with no sales tax if ordering online from out-of state. It is actually cheaper to buy it, than to rent it for 5 days or more, and they will certainly tell you you should have it there for a week. (1c) As another example, for removing the laminate in my basement, their estimate was $610. This did not include, cleaning, applying antimicrobial agent, baseboard, anything else. When I saw this estimate, I put on my gloves, went into my basement with my chisel and sledgehammer, and removed and bagged all of the planked myself. I clocked it at 42 minutes of work for 1 person. This comes out to a rate of $871/hour. The estimate had 41 individual line items. For the initial visit, in which 2 crew members were here for about 40 minutes to drop off dehumidifiers and fans, their estimate detailed 6 hours of work for "equipment setup" + 4 hours of "content manipulation fees." This was on top of the $374 service call charge to drive out there. Their estimates are high because they 5x the labor hours needed to do actual work. (2) When I got their estimate, I told them it was too high, but didn't get into the unreasonableness of it. I simply said it was more than I could pay due to my high insurance deductible. I told them, "this is a very thoughtful estimate, thank you for putting it together, but I can't afford this and need to go in a different direction. I have a flooring contractor I regularly work with who can do this job for less than the deductible." Instead of leaving it at that, the woman asked me if I worked in contracting. I asked what they were getting at and they told me that if I don't work in contracting, then I don't really know what I'm talking about and am in no position to challenge their charges. She transferred me to the owner. I explained that I cannot afford their services and needed to go a different direction. He asked, "if you're such an expert in the costs, then why did you call us in the first place?" I again said it was a thoughtful estimate and thanks for assembling it, and I'm not even getting into whether it is correct, just explaining what I can afford. He tried to bog me down with details about anti-microbial treatment to impose formality on me and make me feel uninformed and cave to their quote. It was condescending, and I just didn't understand what they were getting at. They kept stuffing words in my mouth, whereas I was just giving them a straight answer about what I could afford and what my alternatives were. (3) As for transparency -- when the initial service people came out, they told me that the setup and costs for the equipment would be "less than $1000 for sure" just to get it dried out, and then we would estimate the cost of removal and new floors from there. The woman on the phone a couple days later called to tell me the charge just for leaving the dehumidifiers and fans would be $1283.54. And to remove 600 sq ft of floors, it would come to $5600 total, not including replacing the floors. I asked for $ estimate to put in new floors, which usually has standard /sq ft costs. They refused to give an estimate until after removing everything. In sales, this is called "escalating commitment." They try to get you increasingly invested in them, and place more and more charges on you. When I asked for a ballpark /sq ft estimate, they told me they don't do that, and if I ever worked in contracting I would understand that. That's crazy, I've worked with many contractors, for many homes, and have never had a hard time extracting a /sq ft estimate of materials + labor + buffer for unknown, not a hard equation. I considered this dishonest, and decided to not work with them further. I have done many home repairs myself and worked with many contractors. I've only ever given 5 star reviews to prior contractors (via thumbtack, google, etc). These guys don't deserve 5 stars, and the people giving them 5-stars likely went through insurance and cost was no object since they worked with a blank check. If that's you, this company will work out OK. If not, try elsewhere, HTH. read more

They were very reassuring that they could take care of all of the mess. This was largest issue I've had to deal with at my home, so I was a little distraught. This was by far the worst company I have ever had the opportunity to work with. The owner, Scott, is incredibly rude and hot-headed. He hung up on me on one occasion because he wasn't able to carry on a conversation like an adult. Him and his team were satisfied with doing a half-hearted job and calling it complete. After getting approvals from the insurance company to remove the affected areas, they still felt that the right call was to not remove the drywall. Scott seems to take things too personally to be a business owner. In the end, Scott didn't like what the insurance company was requesting so he decided to pull his team off the contract, again truly showing the half-hearted attempt this company is satisfied with. Not only did they clean all our stuff and store it for over a year, but they also brought things to our temporary housing (we foolishly thought we would be back home in max 2 months). We were very unhappy to wake up to a kitchen full of water (in June 2019)...I freaked out and didn't know who to call. Luckily, I knew about this company and called them. They came out to my house in less than an hour and were already starting to dry things out in less than 2 hours. The owner, Scott, came out to my house and walked me through the process of what to expect and gave me the time frame of 3-4 months (due to the severity of the water damage). I didn't love the time frame, but it wasn't up to them...it was mostly up to the insurance company and the cabinet people (we needed all new cabinets etc). WWD was great to work with and eased my mind many times over the next several months. The process was tedious, but again, not their fault and the crew was so respectful in every interaction we had...sadly, when we were about 1 1/2 months in, we had another flood in a different location of our house (I know...I know...our house is old and cheaply made)...they were again, right there to help us out. Luckily that one wasn't nearly as extensive. Scott and his crew made working with the insurance company a breeze and we had no issues at all with getting reimbursed. Thankfully, we are on this side of the situation (and 4 months was completely accurate)...and our kitchen is put back together. Phew! Let me tell you a good thing first, they are quick to respond the first time for water damage mitigation. Alvin & Scott especially are courteous and patient with you to set up times. However when it comes to restoration work their contracting department [Mike] is rude and wouldn't want to work with you. They want to share the estimates directly with the insurance and not discuss with you anything with you. I really had the worst experience in terms of customer service once the estimates were approved, they took it for granted. I pulled out and gave the contract to someone else which added extra time to the project. I would never want to deal with them again and if possible you should avoid them too. this is long overdue. These people saved us. On April 24, 2013, a city of Mukilteo sewer line backed up into our basement. Thousands of gallons of raw sewage covering about 1700 square feet of finished basement. "Huge disaster" doesn't begin to describe it. We had no idea what to do or who to call. This company was amazing. Our washer flooded almost our entire upstairs and we had waterfalls downstairs. At 6am. We called our insurance who advised to call a water restoration company. My husband chose the biggest ad in the phone book. One gentleman showed up within an hour on a Saturday morning and got to work ripping out everything by himself. They worked seamlessly w our insurance company as well. This last week restoration was started and completed. They said they'd try to have it done by the end of the week. On Friday afternoon an extra team showed up and they kicked ass all day. It was amazing. I made them all cookies more than once. We were so grateful to have our house back. Our toddler had her room back and everything is normal. Flood to finish took 5 weeks. This was all due to insurance and adjusters. Once the company was notified that we had the check from insurance, they started as soon as possible. Yes, not all of the crew speak fluent English. However, that wasn't a problem for us.
