Game was fun. Wizards lost but still had a good time. Staff was friendly, even though the prices were well over what they should be as to be expected in a stadium. For me, I've never been a huge fan, there have been some player issues over the years that were less than impressive. I did get a chance to see them live in the playoffs squaring off against the Hawks. Beal was a beast and Wall (pre-injury) was a wizard (pun maybe intended) with his ball handling skills. Once Wall was injured, obviously they had some issues with so much tied up in his contract. They have since been able to move on and robbed the Lakers of some seriously good role players that have been able to step up their game now that they aren't playing in the shadow of LBJ and AD. In face they compliment each other and Bradley Beal quite nicely. This team is trending up and may finally be experiencing their first bit of good luck since MJ took the floor with the team. read more

The Wizards could give a class in how not to provide a good fan experience. Starting from even before entering the arena. The doormen said my girlfriend's little clutch purse was too big. They placed it slightly at an angle on the small basket they were using to measure to show us. I placed a single finger on top and pressed down so it went neatly into the basket. They still said it was too big and we were forced to walk around the stadium to some lockers where we had to pay fifteen bucks to hold it. The concessions were almost high school quality. There was so little selection of food, and it was so comically bad, it was almost a joke. Also at the very least you expect some decent halftime entertainment from a professional sports organization-- you are likely to see better at a high school game. It was like the entire experience was being done on the cheap because they had no budget. To cap it all off within a minute of the game ending the ushers walked down to the front of the section and were literally yelling at people that it was time to leave ("Time to go home!" over and over in a polite, yet ever louder and more insistent tone of voice)-- even while they were conducting the on court interview with the player on the big screen. If you are a diehard Wizards fan then by all means go and enjoy yourself. However if you are simply looking for a fun night out don't bother-- you'll only find a night of aggravation here. read more

HUGE basketball fan and STILL remain loyal and hopeful with every disappointing season. Check out pics of the new court and uniforms! 1) They should've never gotten rid of Eddie Jordan, and I hope they boot Flip Saunders early or this season will be over before it starts. 2) I wasn't a fan of the uniforms before, but seeing them on the players live with the new court layout changed my mind. 3) I attended the first pre-season game this past Friday, and our starters played like back-ups. We ALMOST lost by 40, but we upped the ante a little and cut that loss in half. Unfortunately, it wasn't that enjoyable to see them lose, but I scored some club level seats for free so no complaints there! One of the worst teams in the NBA (Sixers) made the Wizards look awful that night -- pathetic defense, numerous turnovers, couldn't finish plays. What an OFF night. There were some great music with awesome bass playing, and the show itself contained a lot of jumps, flips, somersaults in the air, as well as great slam dunks with awesome heights! Growing up right outside of DC, the Bullets were my pro basketball team. Believe me, this has been a labor of love over the years. Being a Bullets fan ain't easy. Take the name change, for instance. What a bunch of politically correct nonsense that was. DC's murder rate in the 90's had nothing to do with the name of the basketball franchise they inherited. The Bullets were a good team with a proud history. They made the Finals 4 times in the 70's and won a championship with Elvin Hayes and Wes Unseld in '78. Alas, that was then and this is now. The Wizards had faded into mediocrity. While other franchises build through the draft, we get guys like Jarred Jeffries, Steve Blake, Juan Dixon, Jarvis Hayes, Oleksiy Pecherov, and the worst #1 Overall Pick of all time, Kwame Brown. Then there's the curse of the Wizards. For those of you, not residing in the nation's capital, this is the phenomenon that exists only within the Wizards organization. Every player the Wizards get rid is pretty much guaranteed to go on to become great with other squads. 1. Rasheed Wallace: Underacheiver in DC. After being traded, he becomes a 4 time all-star, makes the Playoffs every year while the Wizards are terrible, wins a championship and becomes one of the most versatile power forwards in the league. 2. Chris Webber: Mediocre in DC. A 5 time All-Star who averaged Hall of Fame calibre numbers (23, 11, and 5 in 6 seasons) with Sacramento. 3. Ben Wallace: Awful in DC. After being traded, he goes on to become 4 time Defensive Player of the Year averaging 13 boards and 3 blocks a game. He's a beast in the Playoffs and wins a championship with Detroit. 4. Rip Hamilton. "Meh" in DC. Becomes one of the most durable, solid 2 guards in the league with Detroit while we get stuck with a constantly injured, occasionally arrested, way overpaid Jerry Stackhouse. Rip goes on to average about 20, 4, and 4, make 2 All-Star appearances, and 2 Finals appearances to go along with winning a championship. That being said, this is my team. For all of the soul numbing lows, there have been some intoxicating highs. Like getting Gilbert Arenas, trading Kwame Brown for Caron Butler, getting Antawn Jamison, having 3 All Stars on the roster, having Michael Jordan for those two seasons., making the Playoffs 4 years in a row after a decade-long drought. Nobody loved it more when the Wiz came back to beat the Bulls in "05 on a last second Gilbert Arenas fadeaway. Nobody has loved the excitement that Arenas has brought to this franchise and city more than I have. The game winners, the 60 points against the Lakers, the 54 points versus the Suns, the 40 points in a half vs. the Knicks. And nobody is gonna be cheering louder in DC when they win their next Championship. The Washington Bullets get 5 Stars because I love this team and love DC no matter what. Hibachi! read more

November can't come soon enough. In my opinion there is nothing more fun and exciting than watching a basketball game. And for me watching the Wizards is only second to watching my son's games. Gilbert Arenas is an amazing player. He is so athletic and graceful on the court. Antawn Jamison is a true leader. Caron Butler is absolutely All Star caliber. The entire experience is very entertaining. My children love all side-shows going on throughout the game. The Wizards Dancers, G-Wiz and G-Man, Capitol Kids, the Fan Patrol, it's all very fun and keep them engaged. Tickets are reasonable. If I didn't have kids I would have great seats every game. As it is, I pay for no less than 5 tickets per game so I have to choose the games wisely. The Wizards have many package deals and discounted games that make it possible to bring the kids and their friends. Sunday afternoon games are $10 a ticket and the three game jersey packs they offered last year were great. The kids meals at the concession stand makes getting dinner there affordable as well. Lastly the Verizon Center itself is a great venue. It's easily accessible by car or metro. It's in a safe neighborhood. I never feel uncomfortable walking around even at night. There are tons of restaurants right there. However, if you do plan on going to dinner before a game, get there at least two hours ahead of time. Otherwise it's hard to get a table and get to the game on time. read more

This team has changed a lot since my last review in 2011 when I couldn't give VIP tickets away for free. Finally fans will get their money's worth. The team does a great job keeping the fans involved with their crazy dunking and fast play. It's great to see this franchise finally going in the right direction after the Kwame Brown bust. The team isn't that good. The seats aren't cheap enough for folks to even begin to fill the Verizon Center. The Wizard Girls kinda make me cringe. But there's lots of free giveaways. And there's plenty of worse ways to spend an evening. So yeah, it evened out to a-ok. Despite the beers being $8.50, we had a good time. The Verizon Center is an ok venue for NBA Basketball. I have been to the Staples center so it is an unfair comparison. The food is ok in the center but there is some great food right outside center. The games are fun but it also depends who the Wiz are playing. I like a lot of players on the team, but for some reason they are not that exciting to watch. They do not interact with the fans as much as I thought they could. The fans also do not get in to the game as much as other places I have been. The entertainment during the games are pretty good too. I will continue coming to these games especially if i can get some good tickets for a decent price. read more

This was my 2nd NBA Game. Washington Wizards vs. Philadelphia 76ers 4/1/2015. The whole experience sucked. The arena was dirty ( I actually saw water dripping from the ceiling behind a food counter) and the people working there were kinda rude. We had ok nose bleed seats (Section 200 Row F) and the Wizards were playing one of the worst teams in the league (76ers) that night. The arena was not full and the fans were not into the game at all. This experience was far from what I got at the Quicken Loans Arena (CAVS). Don't think I'll be going back. read more

A horrible game they played but it was a fun venue. I always joke with the people working the concession stands and most were pretty friendly and laughed along with me at my corny jokes and being silly. Ill definitely return for more games, the tickets aren't cheap and I was in the nose bleeds. If you're taking a date there are a decent amount of choices to pick from when it comes to food and drinks, they even have wine which will come in handy for the ladys and people who would like something besides liquor and beer. I recommend it to anyone, it isn't as entertaining as a baseball or hockey game because there isn't as much going on during the dead time like hockey and baseball games but it could keep the non basketball fan entertained while you enjoy the game. read more

Am I rating the team or the experience of going to the games? I'll stick with the game experience here. I like going to Wizards games. I'm not a huge fan, but the team is amiable and generally, exciting to watch. The Verizon center is great for games. Decent consessions, nice scoreboard/jumbo screen and a fairly well-behaved crowd. I've had the priviledge of sitting way close up a half dozen times and it is a spoiling experience. I completely recommend splurging at least once to sit within the first ten rows. You really get a feel for the athleticism and how freaking big these people are. Just don't sit behind Gheorge Muhreson, he goes to most of their games. read more

For my first and only pro basketball game, I went to see the Wizards get trounced by the Miami Heat. In this non-playoff game the Wizards played with less heart than your average middle school B team. Beer was $8 and I couldn't force enough of it down to muster a good time. My experiences at the Wizard's games have been mostly awesome. I go often with some friends who have season tickets. My concern, however, is that some of the people working the events have been rude to season ticket holders. We arrived a little late to one game and there were people in our seats (not sure who was checking the tickets....) We just sat in some seats near ours, and within a few minutes we were being yelled at rudely about being in the wrong seats. The problem is that someone is letting people move down to 100 level seats who don't have 100 level tickets - and they are ending up in season ticket holder's spots. We have seen this happen to others around us as well. Maybe we should just buy the cheap seats and move down like the rest.... read more

Let start by saying my ticket to the game was free via my place of employment. That said, I had a fun and I am sure I still would have if I had paid for my ticket. The Wizards lost by 9 to the Pistons, but played hard and never gave up. The folks that worked the game were upbeat, even that they knew, as I did, it was unlikely we were going to sin a win. I felt one of the cool kids going to see a team that most folks would not want to see. read more

If you can grab lower level seats make a trip to Verizon Center and see Wall's Wizards but if you're in the nose-bleeds... It's not too long ago (2016) I could find after market $25-35 single seats in lower end or behind the basket but with sky high price increases those are as rare as a Gortat three pointer. This has been the worst experience we have had in the 10 years attending the game. If I could have given it a half star I would have. The customer experience here sucks and they could care less if customers are happy or not. We came with a large group and our seats were all over the place. The only explanation we received was "Oh well." We spent lots of money to make sure that our group didn't have to sit so far up this time but this will be our very last time coming here. We will find another NBA team to support. read more
