It's a great location, and there is typically enough parking. The boat dry stacking is a great benefit as well. Most of the employees are very nice and helpful, and there is a great sense of community among boaters. It is very expensive, though, and keeps going up every year. It's the only dry stacking marina in town, though, so people pay it. The marina owner has actually told customers that if they didn't like something (like wanting something to be fixed, or inquiring about the dent in their boat), they can go somewhere else (and many do); he has a waiting list to get in. So you can tell that due to lack of competition, the customer service and work ethic from the top is very lacking.
It is also very disappointing that for all that money, the bathrooms are really dirty. As one example, sorry to get graphic, but I used the restroom one day, and there were some, um, remnants in the toilet. I went back the next day, and the remnants were still there. So if that was still visible, I assume they didn't clean anything in the bathroom at all. You can tell that they are rarely cleaned, and this is a big problem for me. Also, it is a safety issue that a lot of the dock lights are burned out, and have been all summer. Many of the dock planks also need to be changed; they are a tripping and splinter hazard.
It's a good location with a nice sense of community, and good potential, but the marina really needs to focus on basic maintenance. read more
