Once a month the driver does not pickup our trash and notes that the garbage can was not out. This does not make sense since we leave the garbage can out every Wednesday. Also, most importantly my next door neighbor which we share the same drive was has the same issue. What is the chance that both of us would forget to leave out our garbage can. When I call they say the supervisor will reach out but they never do. Instead they come out next day and pick up the garbage. Problem never gets resolved and happens again and again. read more

I called on Monday to replace the trash bin to a bigger size. They picked up the old bin on Wednesday but did not drop the new bin. I have no bin to use, then I called again this morning. They said they only can deliver the new bin on the next service day which is next Wednesday. That is ridiculous. They just let me to put the trash bag on the street for them to pick up on next Wed, they said that if animals tear open the garbage bags and trash is scattered everywhere, they are not responsible for cleaning it up. I just wanted to share my experience--this has been one of the most frustrating companies to deal with. They often miss garbage pickups without notice and have virtually no communication. Waste Management failed to pick up my trash and then tried to charge me an additional $8 to collect it the following week. My trash can was temporarily blocked due to circumstances completely out of my control -- an elderly neighbor was having repairs done on their home. Despite this, Waste Management refused to issue a credit and claimed the driver "paused" at my house and attempted pickup. This is simply not true. I have Ring camera footage showing the truck did not pause -- it drove straight past my home. So not only was my trash not collected, but I was told I would have to pay extra for a problem caused by a brief, unavoidable obstruction and compounded by inaccurate reporting. Poor customer service, no accountability, and zero willingness to work with customers who are paying for a service they did not receive. Very disappointing experience. read more

Poor service and customer service. The garbage dumpster at the property I manage in Snoqualmie WA had floated away in the flooding. It ended up across the street in the neighbors back yard against a fence and we could not retrieve it. After 4 phone calls I finally was able to get a date scheduled for them to come get it. The first 3 calls resulted in nothing! They didn't even have record of my previous complaints. Along with that, they want to charge over $300.00 to come and get it. How horrible to take advantage of people in a time of crisis!! It was caused by a natural disaster!! Plus, with the garbage piling up since the waters receded, the dumpster will fill up quickly with the excess garbage and they want to charge for coming back several times before it is all hauled away. I am not talking flood clean up garbage either. This is just tenant garbage accumulating over the span of 3 weeks. What a horrible company!! And what sucks is that we have to use them. This company is HORRIABLE I had a three year contract it auto renewed in Sept of 2025 with out any notice from them. I called and certified mailed a letter saying that I was not okay with the price increase. Since my bill was on auto pay I paid the disagreed price on the bill before I guess the certified letter got to them. Now they are saying since I paid that I was agreeing to new price. I then told them I want to cancel my contract and pay the damages they say for the past six months, but they are including the price I was not okay with. I have told them five or six times to cancel my contract as now they are calling since I stopped payment and stopped using the dumpster!! I have spoke to Mateo and Gabe they both have prolonged this for over FOUR months. Still waiting for them to cancel my contract and pick up the dumpster. read more

Kind of sucks we are forced to use them in Lake Stevens. Customer service is pretty much non-existent. The only way to get ahold of them seems to be email but good luck getting one back. They have downgraded their recycling beens to 35 gal which is still picked up bi weekly so its probably a good idea to save some extra boxes for everything that doesn't fit after the first week Truly just a joke of a company but honestly given the current times, seems like the new norm. This company is holding the contract to pickup curbside at the place I live. However I have not had service since mid February, I can understand that there might be a weather event, a truck issue or any other issue can happen. I can understand how this can happen two weeks in a row. I am writing this review to express my frustration with this company as I have not have any service and will not have any service until mid March now (if they actually show up next week). The only thing I can do is load some trash in my car and bring it to them. Surprise!! I have to pay to haul my own trash that they where supposed to pickup to their location and pay to dispose of it. If there was any alternative or anyone has any suggestions let me know please. Secondary consideration, since Waste Management holds the contract for so many people and my entire neighborhood has not had service for so long I fear that illegal dumping of trash and burning might increase to the frustration of everyone read more

UPDATE: Happy to say I cancelled the service today. Took an HOUR of being on hold and talking to different people, but it's done. ________________ Original review: Not a business anyone would choose to use, but they have a monopoly in my area. Their pickup is solid enough. They get the bin out to you in time when you're new, and they usually finish pickup by dark on the day they're supposed to pick up. Their trucks are noisy and slow, but they usually get everything. Yesterday they failed to pick up any trash or recycling from our curb. They left a note saying they couldn't do it since it was in bags. This is insane. They have picked up bags from our curbside dozens of times over the last 20+ years (we've lived at 2 addresses in the area). They charge extra for any item (box, bag, whatever) that's not in the bin. Not yesterday. I got on their website and spent half an hour chasing my own tail around page after page trying to figure out where to report a missed pickup, request an extra pickup, log a request in their after-hours 800 number, email them, or...anything. Just to indicate that I'm happy to pay extra to solve this problem since I had more than one bag this week. No luck. One screen did say they recognized my issue and had sent me an email confirming it. They did not. No email showed up. So this morning I dialed in at 7:00, which is when they open their phone lines. I reported the issue, requested an extra pickup, and said I would be happy to pay extra to resolve the matter. Over the course of 10 minutes of arguing with me, their call center agent said: They couldn't pick up more than one bin at a time (they do this every week for more than one of just the houses I can see from my driveway) They couldn't pick up heavy stuff (over 40 pounds), even though she hadn't been there to see what it was or how much it weighed They couldn't pick up extra stuff just because I "chose to" leave it out. I had to call it in. Again, they do this EVERY WEEK just on my block. They couldn't be sure if they would be able to come back out to pick up my stuff. She raised her voice, talked over me again and again, cut me off, criticized me for being a disobedient customer, and generally blamed me for giving them extra money by requesting an extra pickup. I know her job sucks, and customers are not nice to her. I was nice to her and super calm. I have a legit issue and just need some extra service I'll willingly pay for. In 20+ years I've never had so much as a late payment with them. Many weeks I don't even leave anything at the curb. And they're still martyring themselves over just...having to do their jobs. This is a business 100% at war with its own customers. Currently I am trying to figure out how I can do this through a junk-hauling service and skip using WM. read more

On February 5th, 2025, the county had some snow. Our road and most of Port Orchard had bare streets, but they cancelled our trash pick up and wouldn't re-schedule. They said to put excess trash in bags and leave it outside with the raccoons, coyotes and deer, they'll pick it up next time... When I asked for a credit since we lost 25% of our service this month, they refused. If they weren't the only game in town, they'd be out of business with this shoddy customer service. read more

Absolutely Horrible Customer Service - Still Waiting for Help! If I could give zero stars, I would. Waste Management has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. They took my dumpster the day before Christmas Eve, and here I am months later, still on hold as I write this review, trying to get help with no resolution in sight. Their customer service is beyond unacceptable--I've been forced to sit on hold for hours, only to be transferred, disconnected, or have my call dropped, making me start the entire process over again. It feels like they do everything they can not to help their customers. To make things worse, they are quick to talk about payments, yet I still haven't received a clear breakdown of my bill. How am I supposed to pay for a service that hasn't even been properly explained? I have been brought to tears trying to deal with this mess. No one should have to fight this hard just to get basic garbage service. Waste Management needs serious changes--better customer service, real accountability, and actual transparency when it comes to billing. On the billing statement it gave a phone number to call. I thought it would be easy and automated, it wasn't. I was on hold for 20 minutes before I got an agent. It also gave an option to press 1 for a call back so I didn't have to wait on hold, and that did not work. Then when I got an agent she cut me off several times and talked over me. When I said I wanted to change something on the account she continued to talk over me saying only the account holder can do that. The account was in my husband's name and he passed away last month. She never said sorry. Also $84 a month is apparently the lowest garbage plan and I think that is insane. read more

While the monthly fees steadily increase (without proper notification to customers), the service steadily declines (pick-ups missed, messes left, etc). When attempts are made to contact the company, the online chat has customer service reps ending communication abruptly or ghosting customers when questions are posed that are not easily addressed. Phone calls can leave customers waiting on hold for long periods of time, only to be met with condescending/rude customer service reps who offer no solutions to customer concerns. Unfortunately, this company has no competition in our area, which is why they can continue to get away with this brand of blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. We should all be contacting our local government representatives to communicate discontent, as Waste Management needs accountability before this situation goes from bad to worse. read more

Our can went missing at the end if December. I called to get a can replace. WM said can would be delivered on 1/5. I called again on 1/9, still no can. Called again on 1/16 to tell them they delivered a recycle can instead of a garbage can. I asked to switch my pick up date, but there is no record of that whatsoever. When asked that I should not be charged for garbage service for the last 3 weeks, agent kept telling me that I could have put the garbage out. I said I didn't have a can for 3 weeks!!! I have experienced consistent pick up issues since I began service with Waste Management. When I review the reasons online for why my can(s) was/were not emptied, it states that my can was not out. I live in a cul-de-sac and have learned from my neighbors that I am supposed to put my cans out in one specific area but several WM representatives were unable to give me a definitive answer and "just put the cans where you normally do when they're picked up." This response isn't solving my issues and even when I put them out in what I believe is the exact same spot each time, if it not to the drivers preference, they mark it as not put out. I have had to have dispute several claims now and when I chat online with a representative, I'm unsatisfied with the communication I receive and I feel like my issues are not being properly resolved and that I'm not being heard. I am unable to view my pick up history so I cannot accurately say that I'm being charged on services that I did not receive due to this situation, but I'm in the process of requesting/obtaining such history records so that I can hopefully dispute those instances. I am so disappointed and if there was another waste service company, such as Republic Services whom I was thoroughly impressed with and spoiled by their impeccable support, I would take my business elsewhere but unfortunately I'm forced to use WM because there is nothing else available to switch to. read more

Meanwhile still expected to carry all recycling now down our steps, schlep to the street and back again, not to mention Christmas day! Absolutely the worst waste service I have dealt with as a property manager. The company is poorly managed and they are very messy. On one occasion they put the bin in the driveway behind my new 4runner which I hit when backing out as I couldn't see it. Put a nice dent in a week-old SUV. Just so you know, you guys are absolutely the worst utilities company I've ever dealt with. You cancel and reschedule pick ups more than any company I've ever dealt with. Your trucks refused to chain up when there's a slightest bit of snow so you have multiple missed pick ups in the winter. You don't pick up anything but yard waste on the Fourth of July when you know people are going to have a ton of trash from parties and fireworks that they are now expected to store in their garage in 90+ degree heat for a week. You refused to offer any service credits for missed pickups. Unfortunately, those of us that live in Snohomish County that are under your contract have no other choice except to take our own trash to the dump. But yet someBut yet, somehow Republic trash service did pickups for trash and yard waste on July 5th for their customers who had pickups scheduled for the 4th. You guys hold a monopoly as the sole supplier of trash pick up in the areas you supposedly serve yet you continually fail to hold up your end of the bargain. And it is almost laughable that you guys are asking for a rate increase when you can't even provide trash pick up without hiccups under the current rates. We have used waste management for 20 years. over the years the service has gone downhill. They pick up our stuff majority of the time, but I randomly get charged for "extra bag" which is absolutely ridiculous since I don't ever leave an extra bag and in fact make sure my trash cart lid is closed flat so I don't get charged extra. When I call to correct this I wait on hold and go through many hoops to get to a live person. They sent a letter this month stating they are increasing prices. This prompted me to look at my current size carts and decide to reduce sizes. I called 2 days in a row, waited on hold over and hour before giving up, waited in chat 20 minutes before calling it quits and tried their "call back" option which stated they would call back in 10 minutes and 2 hours later I still hadn't gotten a call. I finally reached a live person in chat today and she said it would take nearly 20 minutes to locate and review my account. Worst service I have ever experienced. read more

I'm a new customer trying to set up service. Instead of waiting to speak to someone, you get the option to press 1 and within 20-30 minutes get a call back. I get a call back in about 30 minutes but am then put on the endless cycle of waiting for an operator who never answers. Over an hour! I have also tried just waiting on the call for over an hour to speak to someone, but it never happens. It's too bad there are no other choices for service as WM sucks big time!!! So my garbage didn't get picked up again today and I called them and they said because there was a little over an inch showing of the white kitchen gar bag , I could literally shut the lid with one finger I'm not allowed to put a rock on the garbage can or tie the lid in anyway. I just feel that this is really petty I mean I could see if I had a whole garbage bag or a quarter The bag sticking out, but no . But then to top it off, I asked for a credit, and the manager told me no, but he is not issuing a credit that I have to pay for service, but I did not get and I was like I don't really feel that that's very fair and he says ma'am and you're not getting a credit. I'm just stuck because there's nothing you can do with the only garbage service around and they know it. They are way over priced. If you call and get a quote for new service it is always lower than you are currently paying. This review is for recycle. The trash service is consistent and the price is the same for everyone. Recycle though, they charge you whatever they feel like. They don't care about their reputation in the community. Dylan deWilde did nothing to help me sold my issue. I agreed to recycle service with them for $200 a month. The bill came and it was over $330.
