She helped us find out our dog was deaf and helped us get training for her. Savannah just loves her and is so excited to see her. I have never met a Vet that loves all animals so much. They now have a grooming salon and the groomers are the best. They take such good care of the dogs and love them so much. Our dog comes out so happy and looking beautiful. I started communicating with this vet in November about getting travel documents for my cat when we move overseas. I am less than two weeks from my appointment and they have decided they no longer want to offer this service. These appointments must be within 10 days of travel which means we now need to find another vet that will do this and can make room for us in the next three weeks. A few months ago, I brought in one of my cats for an issue. Since it was our first visit, I provided her rabies tags and documentation. Anticipating that my other two cats would need care in the near future, I brought their rabies documentation as well to have everything on file. I watched as the staff member copied and scanned all of the documents and tags, asked me a few questions, and then returned everything to me. Fast forward to today: I brought in my other two cats for a check-up, only to be told that the clinic had no record of their rabies documentation. The vet refused to see them without it. This level of disorganization is unacceptable. After driving all the way there, waiting through the intake process, and only then being informed--it's incredibly frustrating and a total waste of time. If a clinic can't manage basic administrative tasks, how can they be trusted with the health and well-being of our pets? We won't be returning, and I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for reliable, professional animal care. This experience was both disappointing and disrespectful. read more

I called in to renew a prescription and after a 90 min drive returned home to discover that instead of renewing the prescription they dispensed a single tab. On calling back and asking to speak with an owner, I got a colossal run around instead of anyone admitting they erred, blaming me for not realizing the cost was wrong. Nice ppl, bad office. I have had a very hard time putting into words what is going on right now. My beloved Aries (my 11-year-old cat) was diagnosed last week with cancer and yes last April my mom died of cancer so that word just is not what I wanted to hear. I am hart broken right now. Loved Dr. Fair! I brought my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in after a first seizure (he walloped his head the same day), and she knows her stuff! My dog is a bit of a rare breed that is known for quirky health issues like splenic torsion and idiopathic epilepsy. She is the first vet he's seen who didn't ask me what kind of mix he is. I appreciated her conservative approach of "wait and see" but with a plan in place and rescue meds on hand if he seizes again. She performed an exam, 3 tests, diagnosed and treated bilateral ear infections, and I bought 6 mos of heart worm meds (12 doses though because my dog is so big) for less than $400, which I thought was reasonable. She and her husband (super nice guy too) purchased the clinic several months ago and are new to the area. They are renovating the clinic, making it state-of-the-art, and we are so lucky to have her here! read more

Dr. Fair is very knowledgeable, but doesn't "talk above your head". She takes the time to explain what is wrong with your pet and what she feels like would be the best course of treatment. I love that she and her Vet Techs get down in the floor with my dog to make him feel more comfortable, rather than stressing him out by placing him on a tall exam table. This is by far the best and most affordable vet clinic I have ever been to! I have brought both my adult cat and my lab puppy here and never spent more than $45. They truly care about the animals, so unlike the other vets offices here in Boone, they aren't going to charge you hundreds of dollars for the exam. In fact, I dont even think they charge you at all, only the cost of the vaccinations, plus they give you free samples of dewormer/heartworm medications. I've been a dog owning, High Country resident for 18 years now and I have tried ALL the vets in Boone. While I might like a vet, I might not be thrilled with the staff or I didn't like the corporate-owned/push extra services style. Dr. Fair is the only one in Boone who 1. is caring, knowledgable and thorough, 2. has a sweet tech support staff, 3. charges reasonably and doesn't 'push' services and 4. is located within town. She meets all my criteria brilliantly. Just an example of what sold me on her: my 15 y.o. spaniel mix is covered in many types of lumps, some internal, most external. The last vet I went to, I asked for an examination of his lumps and this vet basically felt him quickly and said, yeah, he's old, he's got lumps. Dr. Fair really palpated, felt and examined as many as she could and told me she had a border collie mix who lived to 16 who had as many as 22 lumps. She also gave me bloodwork options to check levels that helped confirm he is in good shape for 15. That was the assurance I needed. Thank you Dr. Fair and staff!!! read more

we were camping up in Boone for the summer. our 9 year old beagle was uncomfortable with itching, dragging her butt and crying out. we made an appointment and was seen the same day. The hospital was clean and friendly and the vet was fantastic. Their rates are awesome, does not cost you a house mortgage! Preparation H was recommended which cost more than the vet visit!
