We've been taking out pets to Watch my Wag for nearly 5 years. They are always accommodating, professional, and happy to love on our dogs while we're away. I'm super surprised by the negative reviews here and cannot believe we are talking about the same place. Our dog Crockett, who can be a handful, is always excited to go to WMW when we drop him off. All of the staff snuggles him right up when we bring him in. When we suffered the loss of one of our pets this year, the staff at WMW grieved with us. Additionally, when we call with last minute requests, or have to leave our pet another day, they always do their best to squeeze us in. We have been using WMW for almost two years now since we moved here. Our pup, Zeus, loves it here. Every time we pull up he is so excited and ready to go play. I've had to extend visits at the last minute sometimes because of work trips and we have always been accommodated so easily. Southern Pawz, the Watch My Wag grooming service, is the worst I have ever experienced. They do not ever answer the phone, return calls, or respond to texts. They communicate only to make appointments and excuses. An appointment, made on line, that was supposed to last 2-3 hours took almost 6 hours with zero response to messages, calls, texts asking for pick up time. Although the work was good, one of my very elderly dogs was injured on her tongue from "licking" the scissors. They said she was dangerous around her face. At 16 years old, 14 lb, and a lifetime of grooming, I have never heard this before. The staff disparagingly agree that the shop has no direct phone, all calls and texts go to the owner, who rarely responds. read more

My dog, who is supposed to be boarded alone and not socialized with other dogs, was bitten by another dog. Story: This was the third time we'd boarded here. Picked up our dogs after vacation and received no information about their stay except that they were 'good.' One of our dogs- who is supposed to be boarded alone because he's not social- came back from his stay with a bite to his face. He had a scabby cut to his lower eye lid and scabbed over puncture wounds to his scalp. We pay for them to be boarded separately because one pup likes to be alone and one is very playful. I asked about how he got hurt and was told they put our dogs in a 10x10 room together one of the days, and that is when the fight happened. They explained I wasn't called to be given a head's up because they felt it wasn't that bad an injury. We still felt some notification should be given because it is a visible injury and we were going to have questions. We are not ok with our dog obviously getting hurt during his stay, especially because we had to figure it out for ourselves and it was preventable. I took him to the doctor to make sure the punctures weren't infected because his scalp swelled up around the wound, and the wound appeared to have not been cleaned. Well, it was infected. Now we're tending to a wounded dog and trying to restore his confidence around the other dog. I will not be returning to this place. read more

We go out of town a lot. There are much closer kennels to where we live, yet we make the 45 min drive to have our American Bulldog Seamus stay at Watch My Wag. Vrnda has a deep understanding of what dogs require to be balanced and happy, and it's easy to see how much she adores them. Seamus is always so excited to be there. When we pick him up, it's like a kid coming home from summer camp...totally exhausted from having so much fun and happy as can be. Big ol' doggie smile. We like the options of Seamus getting to play at the dog park and the gourmet dog meals during holidays. This place seriously rocks. Best place in the world for dogs. I take our lab there for day care time to time and the only place I will board her when going out of town. My dog, Max, gets super excited the second we pull into the parking lot. Comes home exhausted from play (yeah, they get all the energy out of a 1 year old dog). Great way to socialize the dog and owners are the best animal people you will ever meet. They offer all types of services including full grooming (our dog hates getting nails doe, but she sits still for them). They even get Christmas gifts for their regulars and I am blown away with the quality and specialization including her name embroidered. I can be a high maintenance customer, but I rate them ten stars out of five. Finally, the value is incredible. The quality care and comfort far exceeds any other daycare/boarding place I have used, but the cost is same to less than others. read more

We made a last minute reservation and then extended it by an additional night. They were super accommodating all around. They had our dogs with them for two days total. Our pups came back in good spirits and surprisingly, didn't smell like they had been in a kennel. We sent our dog to day play here a few times, but ultimately had a few bad, not so polite experiences with customer service that made us decide to take our business elsewhere. My dog also seemed to come home more stressed than usual, which is saying something. Called on Wednesday to make a bath appointment for Saturday. The appointment was for 8 AM, after arriving the guy that answered the door looked alarmed as to why I was there. I gave my name and said I had a bath appointment for 8AM, he said, " we don't do just baths, only full grooms." I said, " your website states you do baths and even list bath packages. I called and made an appointment so if you " don't do just baths" then why did no one call me to cancel?" He said, "the guy that made the appointment was new and didn't know." Again, if that is the case then why did no one call me in advance. I was told they didn't know I had an appointment until they opened that morning. Such BS. I got a "I'm sorry" and the door shut in my face. Will not be going back and will advise everyone I know to avoid bringing their dogs here. Unacceptable and handled terribly ! I LOVE WMW so much! 5 stars hands down. My almost 2 year old, 50lb Border Mix has boarded here overnight several times and loves it! We have been other places and he was always hesitant to go in and pulled back, which broke my heart! But at this location, his tail wags at drop off! I recently just discovered that they offer grooming services. I decided to try them out since we spend $90 at Petsmart. Not only were they quick to fit us in on short notice, they were able to accommodate an earlier pick up. They were kind about it, too. When my dog came home he looked AMAZING! Summer months hit him hard in NC. His fur requires a lot of lovin'. He looked so polished, smelled amazing, and most of all happy! This place is a joke. I feel so bad for our dog that we left her in the care of watch my wag. Our dog about jumped back thru the door when she was brought in and out. We took her in with food & simple instructions on feeding. We left food for the days we were gone. We left can food and also left bones for each day she was there. I called over the weekend to check on her and the lady volunteered lots of info.."oh, she's doing good, eating all her food and no vomiting.. which I thought why in the world would she shoot something like that out of her mouth. ‍ So today, she was picked up. When I was pulling up, chaotic of dogs barking. Only one car in the parking lot as the girl said she was the only one there. I paid for my dog and the lady pretends to fiddle in the drawer and tells me she does not have change for $20 dollars. She told me I could go over to Walmart to get change. She told me our dog did great. She stayed 4 nights. Without so many details on what we brought in and what was left, Our dog was not feed everyday is what we think. I called and talked to Megan about the feeding and why our dog has leftover food and she said there are two of us here so I'm not sure what the other girl did. She said she had talked already to the owner to let her know that she gave our dog the "wrong" can of some other dogs food that was not returning. I said well you should have mentioned that at pickup. I asked to have the owner call me. Late afternoon I called back, spoke to Megan..I asked her was there any word on talking to the owner. She said the owner is at her other job. Megan told me that they did not give her the bones that it was mistakenly looked over, they accidentally gave my dog the wrong food and now all the sudden my dog had a "loose"stool so they gave her the food they had. I told her that's not right. I feel like my dog was not open feed as home or taken care of. She probably sat all day in a inclosed kennel listening to outrageous barking. I'm pissed- all this for one, should have been mentioned at pickup. It's a crock of poop at this place. They lie to cover up situations. I paid for extra walks, too bad my dog can't talk because that I'm sure now that was not given. I'm sure the owner will defensively write back something. But this was our experience with watch my wag. The owner has had ample time to return my call. We will NEVER go back. I would recommend to not deal with this place. What a horrible experience today was. We routinely bring our Yorkie for a routine "puppy cut" and have nothing but great things to say...until today. After leaving him with this "groomer" for 9 hours, we were given multiple excuses for why his haircut was so poor (including "my clippers broke," "you didn't give me any guidance") And still, we were charged $35....No apology, no courtesy call to let us know the about her problems with her grooming skills.... It's unfortunate that the quality of grooming, for what has been awesome in the past, is ruined by one unprofessional and inadequate "groomer." read more

Left my dog here twice, first time for 4 days, second for 8 days. First stay wasn't too bad (lost a little weight...came home tired), but the second stay was terrible. He lost about 15 pounds (he's usually about 85 lbs), and his hair is falling out. He ended up at the vet because he got some form of dermatitis that freaked him out. Came home with three prescriptions and really sad! Kennel said he needs anti-anxiety meds, vet says he caught a rash. He's never had this problem before. We only used them because our normal kennel was booked. Sticking with Sandhills Pet Resort from now on! Always comes home happy from there! read more

My husband and I boarded our beloved lab (Sable) here while we were away for Christmas. The staff here are very friendly and go above and beyond when taking care of your pet. While she was boarded, Sable had her picture taken with a note from her telling us how much fun she was having and that she had made friends with Grady (another lab, ha ha). We were able to see that she was having fun when she couldn't be with us. Priceless! Highly recommended! read more

I wanted to take my 2-year old Husky-Pomeranian mix there for some behavioral training. My dog lacks impulse control and has serious problems with interaction with small animals that run. Watch my wag was recommended to me by a friend who boards her dog there for the playtime he receives during the day. A couple of red flags should have alerted me to the unsuitable conditions there. First, I called and the young person on the phone told me that I had to fill out an application on the website and someone would call me back. That did not happen. I had to call back to get an answer to my request. The owner seemed knowledgeable on the phone but kept cutting me off mid-sentence. When I finally got to make an appointment, I took my dog in and he's absolutely terrible with wanting to smell every other dog in sight. That's exactly the reason I wanted behavioral training for him. There was another dog exiting while I was entering and the employee yelled at me for not letting the other dog leave properly. I wasn't aware of a procedure since I had never been there before. My dog stayed overnight there. When I picked him up the next day at 11 the owner started the conversation about him with rudeness and distain. She was confrontational and unprofessional. She kept saying my dog was "nasty". When I asked her to clarify she got mean. I asked if he was aggressive and she said no. But kept repeating that he was nasty...still don't know what that meant. She tried to show me by staring at him. My dog was in the dark kennel and she was standing outside the kennel looking directly down on him with an aggressive look on her face. My dog was visibly shaking with his ears pinned back. He was low groaning in his throat. When she opened the door he cowered as if he'd been hit. As soon as she turned a smile on and started kissing at him he livened up and became happy. I left in tears because of her actions towards me and my dog. My dog Molly is a rescue dog, mostly terrier, except for her ears that don't stand up she looks like a Scottish terrier. I have been bringing her to Watch My Wag since she was a puppy. Initially brought her here for training. I have in the past brought her here for boarding and training two or three times. She always comes home very tired which to me means she didn't get a chance to take her normal afternoon nap or cat naps. She was too busy playing! I also bring her in for grooming. Even though she sheds a lot during the summer, she still needs a haircut to keep her unruly hair contained. She does need her beard, mustache and nails trimmed on a regular basis. Let me begin by saying that I own a English Bulldog Titan which I consider my second son like most dog owners do or should. I would not take him to any other place in Moore County or really any other County. As a owner of such a high maintenance pet due to all sorts of allergies and really don't like him being around other dogs because of potential of another dogs hurting him but trust the staff at watch my wag whole heartily with his care. I have used them for 3 years because Titan is three and have never and I mean never had one problem with staff or accommodations. I thank the staff and owner everyday with the training of Titan to be able be around other pets and people. My son plays alot of travel ball and we take Titan to alot of games and he is the most well behaved dog with other people and other animals that anyone has every seen thanks to watch my wag. We do two big vacations a year and he goes to them with no worries he will be taken care of and Titan always comes home smelling and looking tip top shape. When we got him we visited other facilities and decided that watch my wag was for us and have never and never will use anyone else Vrnda the owner is the most knowledgeable person I have every meet when it comes to dogs i call her the dog whisper lol and the groomer is amazing love smelling him after his visits. Titan gets and least two to three spa visits a month this includes day play and grooming. I call it spa days but is actually for him to just go visit the staff and play with other dogs. Titan is always bordered in his own private section and has never come home with an injury or any anxiety from being at the facility. Matter of fact when we get out of the car at watch my wag he runs into the place and is always meet with open arms. AGAIN NO OTHER PLACE WILL EVER LAY A HAND ON MY BABY BUT THE STAFF AT WATCH MY WAG. read more

Stay away- INDOOR ONLY FACILITY! What we did not realize when we boarded our dogs was that they do not have ANY outdoor areas for dogs. It is strictly an indoor facility. After picking up my dogs and bringing them home, they drank water non-stop. They also could not stop pooping and peeing. I felt like such a horrible dog owner for even taking my dogs to this place. Before I met Vrnda, I was at my wits end. Our Saint Bernard was destructive, disobedient, and to be quite honest, crazy. By the time I got to Watch my Wag, I had already been through another trainer, I felt hopeless, and was one step away from finding another home for our dog. Vrnda and her trainers put our pup through a rigorous training program and she is now a well adjusted member of our family (and we are all happy!). Watch My Wag is more than a boarding facility. They weren't just there for our dog . . . but they were there for our family when my son was born during the ice storm last year. Vrnda has also been flexible unexpected boarding visits while we undergo construction on our home. Had great grooming services in the past with old groomer. Came back after new groomer came and my poor pup was scalped up to a month ago. Asked for just above a summer cut and actually saw skin in several places and very uneven. He still looks terribke as it is growing in. Never experuenced this with any other groomer. read more

We have been taking our dog to Watch My Wag for about 6 months now and have had a very positive experience; so far, we have only used their day care services (so not extended days, but individual day play) and dog training. The staff is very friendly and willing to work with me when I need it, the facility is clean and they have been the most helpful with all of my new dog owner questions (especially when alarming incidents have come up that I don't know how to handle). I know and greatly appreciate that they stand firm on their policy that all dogs staying there must provide shot records. We did the basic level dog training class which was extremely helpful and intend to continue with classes soon; the staff is extremely knowledgable on dog behavior, training and health. read more

I took my dog to Watch My Wag because my usual boarding facility had no room. I was concerned when I got there that there did not seem to be any outdoor play area and very concerned when they would not provide a tour. The person who checked my dog in seemed indifferent, almost uninterested. The neighboring business has clearly gotten tired of dogs on their property as they have many warning signs saying to keep dogs off the grass and that it has been chemically treated. When I picked my dog up, he was very stressed and tired, when when I got him home he drank three bowls of water! He has never reacted to overnight boarding this way. I contacted Watch My Wag and received a very defensive response. The facility looks very inadequate, it is alarming that they do not provide a tour. I recommend avoiding this place! read more
