Came here with a few friends and luckily got a deal on fast passes aka quick queue. Highly recommend. We were on and off numerous ride quick and got to do some multiples times. They offer a lot of rides here and some fun ones too. If you do general you may wait an hour plus for a ride but still worth the wait for the overprice I'd say. Shocked they had some slides closed down though for it being the 4th of July weekend making some waits a little longer

I've only been here twice and love it! I suggest paying the extra for the quick queue pass because it's worth it. Here are my thoughts on a few rides: COLOSSAL CURL Quick Queue available. If you're not a fan of roller coasters, do not like dips, or that g-force feeling, I would not recommend this ride. Accepts either 2 or 4 riders at a time. 3 is not acceptable since it's not well balanced. The raft looks like a fidget spinner. BIG DADDY FALLS Quick Queue available. 1-5 riders per raft. No major dips but lots of waterfalls for you to get soaked under. My top 3 favorite. AQUAZOID AMPED Quick Queue available. Up to 5 riders per raft, as long as the lightest two riders are under 60 inches. I could be wrong, but this is based from memory and reading the signs. Like I mentioned before, I can't do dips but this is okay. It's a fast slide that has tunnels with lights. Not for the light sensitive. You know the ride is almost over when you go through the dark tunnel. Because the tunnels are mainly black, the water is fairly warm here on a sunny day. My top 3 favorite. The line here backs up pretty quickly and there's somewhat of a wait despite having the Quick Queue pass. Do this first before anything. CUTBACK WATER COASTER Quick Queue available. My ultimate favorite. Fits up to four riders with a combined weight of no more than 700 pounds. The lightest in the front, heaviest in the back, and the second heaviest in the second position. Dips aren't bad so if I can handle it, so can you. The water jet propulsion system gets you soaked with cold water. I believe there were about 3 sections of this. MALIBU PIPELINE Quick Queue available. Up to two riders per raft. No major dips. Relaxing fun ride. VANISH POINT I didn't do this one because it's a NO for me. I can't do major dips, and this is nothing but a DIP. RIPTIDE RACE Quick Queue available. One person raft. Four slides altogether to choose from. No major dips. Also fun and relaxing. NITRO-RACER SUPERCHARGED Quick Queue available. Single rider on a mat with 6 lanes available. Looks intimidating but doable for the people that do not like dips. The food was actually delicious for a water park. Chicken tenders, rice bowls, burritos, and cheeseburgers. But be prepared for it is costly.

What a fun water park! Fun, wet, wavy, slippery, and did I mention, FUN! Most of the staff are friendly. A special call out to Jason at the security/check-in area and Bradley at the Ticket Checking section. We found most of the park areas clean, inviting and lots of available chairs. One thing this park lacks is sufficient chairs/benches or seating capability in shaded areas. The kid pool/lazy river area is in need of maintenance. Cracked, chipped, concrete around the pool areas. Same found in the lazy river areas. Four weeks ago there was a large mushroom shaped shower item which had lots of cracked concrete and missing/chipped tile sections. This last weekend it was gone and a small section of the pool was roped off. This entire area needs to be closed, drained, and some serious maintenance performed. The Wave Pool is fun and runs on a 10-min wave on / 8-min wave off schedule. It great to sit on a life vest and just bob, bob, bob. During your visit don't forget to check out the 'Hubba Hubba Highway' The longest river highway on the east coast and the water flows around 5-MPH. Fun to just float along the stream, relaxing, and enjoying the sun.

If you have little ones and need a nice day out of the house I strongly say go on weekdays throughout the summer!! My little one is 2 1/2 and we have a blast when we go to the toddler areas! We usually pack snacks to have that way it doesn't get too pricey getting meals. They do have plenty of meal packages also parents they have great tasty beverages

    Last water river.

Great parking. Easy in and out. Dont worry if there is a little walk. Shortly you will be soaked Plenty of life guards somewhere safety is number one here. But if you think you are coming here and not getting wet think again. This is a place to be a kid again at any age. So put on your blue suede water shoes and dance in the water to the tunes playing through out the park.

Does water country allow same day re-entry, for a single day general admissions ticket?

Yes. Get your hand stamped before you leave.

Hi, do we get towels at the Waterpark or do we have to bring our own?

Bring your own or buy very very expensive ones in the gift shops! We typically leave ours in the car so we don't have to rent an expensive locker or lug them around.

My sheets had dirt or sand on them. The "crafts" for kids, is crayons and a coloring page each time. Everything is so expensive here, that it reminds me of Vegas hotels. A single candy bar was 8.00. The buffet was actually pretty good but the restaurants are awful. Every attraction is designed so it is cost prohibitive unless you spend a ton on unlimited passes. I paid 24.00 to pay one fast round if laser tag with my 2 kids and myself. I called to ask for trash pickup and towels and ai said someone would be up "immediately." An hour later and no one came. I searched the internet for the front desk number (there is no lodge info at all in the rooms) and got voicemail so I left a message. Still waiting to see if they're going to come. Parking is somehow 20.00 a day. We have a handicap placard and there were very, very few handicap spots, we never got one and ended up having to park on the opposite end of the lodge every time, with an Autisic kiddo at risk elopement. The noise. Yes, it's for families. Kids are loud. But, who are these purely that are letting their kids run up and down the hall screaming every night. It's not just the kids, the adults are busy yelling at the kids to slow down. I've gotten so little sleep because it's so loud all the time. I will not be back. It cost my family of 6 far less to rent a 6 bed 4 bath oceanfront house in NC. Oh, and something I saw mentioned a lot- one of our adjoining rooms wasn't ready when we arrived. We arrived at about 4:15 and check in was at 4. It wasn't ready until 5. Not a huge deal for us if everything else had been cool, but it's just another thing in the list I saw mentioned a lot. It gets 2 stars instead of 1 because 1. The staff that I encountered was nice. 2. It's nice to find a place big enough for all of us. 3. The kids like the water park- it's a good size, but not big enough to justify the price.

The first time was just a day pass in the afternoon which is a great deal if you don't want to stay the night. And most recently we stayed the night and had a great time! We booked the kid cabin suite which can accommodate up to 7 people but I think realistically and comfortably, it would be 5. It comes with balcony access, a pull out sofa bed, a queen size bed, a bunk bed, a full size bed and one bathroom. The room is fairly spacious but could use either a bigger table and or an addition half bath at least to accommodate up to 7 people. This was great for us as we had 4 adults and one toddler. There are quite a few attractions here besides the water park. They have a pretty extensive arcade, glow in the dark putt, bowling, story time for kids, ropes course, laser tag and multiple restaurants! Obviously their main attraction is their huge indoor water park! They have things for babies to adults to try here! But I would say their main water attractions are geared more for small babies to middle schoolers. There are multiple water slides for all ages and there's a HUGE bucket of water that dumps about 1,000 gallons of water every 5 mins! Pretty cool! We added on the breakfast buffet for which I would highly recommend. This isn't your typical hotel breakfast! Their offerings were pretty vast and even included a MTO omelette station! If you want to entertain your kiddos, look no further than great wolf lodge for all your entertainment needs! SN: everyone gets a wristband to wear which grants you access to the water park BUT you can also use it to charge purchases to the room AND serves as you room key! Pretty cool!!

There is one nice wide family slide for everyone. There is one super steep one that my six year old braved successfully. The last two are like a twisty open one and then a twisty closed tube style. No life jackets are allowed on the slides but the lifeguards literally stand there and catch your kids and take them back to the side to get out and go again. I was there by myself outnumbered and nervous about my nonswimming kids and no life jackets but quickly relaxed and realized my kids were safe and having the time of their lives. The lifeguards were happy to pass my kids to me but also totally fine if I got out to go do the family slide with one of them if needed. That's always the tricky part of being outnumbered by kids - when the pack wants to split up and I can't be two places at once. Anyway the snack bar food was pretty terrible but pizza was alright. You can bring in a cooler though. Next time I'll pack a full picnic for everyone. They do a lot of adult swims so the lifeguards can rotate but that gives everyone a chance to grab a snack and potty and also gave us a nice window to exit. The pool temp was fantastic and the water was clean. It's a government facility so there's some stuff that could use an upgrade naturally but for $10 a person I was impressed!

Other than that small detail (I had to stop at a reenlistment picnic to ask someone for directions), it is a smash hit and we love it! I am only bummed we didn't know about it last summer! Admission is $6 for active duty, retirees, reservists, & eligible family members, $8 for guests (up to 2 guests per adult w/ ID), kids 3 and under are free. Season passes are based on the number of people in your family... 1= $60, 2= $110, 3= $135, 4= $170, 5= $200, 6= $225 Despite the website's direction that no outside food is allowed and you must purchase food from concessions, *EVERYONE* brings a cooler with lunch in it. So, pack away and save yourself a fortune in concession stand prices. This is a clean and well-maintained facility, for sure. They offer pavilion rental and swimming lessons, which is great! One thing you'll want to warn your kids about ahead of time is "adult swim time" which is a 15 minute break for the kids from the pool they allows the adults to enjoy the facilities (and helps prevent sun-poisoned, exhausted kids)... my kids were upset because adult swim happened 10 mins after we arrived. Oops! There is plenty of seating and it's not so crazy (or wasn't today) that there are long lines... if you get here in time to snag a table, you'll have shade under an umbrella, but annoyingly, people fill the tables with their stuff (even though they aren't sitting there) and you'll be left without shade unless you plan ahead. The snack bar is an array of popsicles, string cheese, burgers, and preservative-packed packaged food that will run you between $0.50 and $5.00 per item. Not terrible on price, really, but far from health-friendly. Better than nothing! For $6/$8 per person, it's a great time. Pack a lunch to save more money, bring as many friends as you can fit in your car. We will be back!

There's a snack bar with some healthy options. There's also a fenced off splash pad for toddlers. There isn't really anywhere to swim that's more than 4 feet deep. There is a deep pool, but it serves as the splash down for the tube slide. There are plenty of lifeguards. They would do better to spend less time socializing/flirting with each other and more time watching the water, but the kid to mom ratio was about 2:1, so there was adequate supervision. One girl was actually turned 90 degrees in her chair, to face her friend rather than the pool. As a former lifeguard I found that appalling, but again, every little kid was pretty much under direct supervision of his or her parents anyway. They don't allow pool toys or water wings, but do have nice life vests for kids to use for free. They don't allow outside food or drinks, but the place is run by teenagers who don't care to shake down customers, so we had no problem bringing in snacks and drinks. Overall, for $6 per person, it was well worth it. Thanks for the good time, MWR!

You must be military personnel, family, or in my case a sanctioned event where your invited. First the adventure pool area is in the newer section of the building. It features a 30 ft, 146 ft long triple loop slide. There is also a shallow end for toddlers with a maximum depth of 3.5 ft. This area by far is the best thing about the center. Minimal parking is located in front of the building. During an event it is quickly overwhelmed and over flow parking that is not too far away must be utilized. The competition pool is located in the older section and dates back to possibly the late 50's and looks its age. The competition pool is 11 lanes and 25 yards in length. It feature a balcony that holds 450-500 spectators to view swimming meets. Often the spectators are over heated even in the middle of winter. The balcony is not a place that I would ever want to be, it's down right miserable. The pool is a FAST due to it's size and depth. My 10 year old son got his first SCY record for his club in this pool swimming the 100 yard Butterfly as an 8 year old. The largest swim meet of the year held at the facility is the SEVA 12&U Christmas Champs. Around 800+ swimmers from around Virginia attend the Prelim/Finals format meet. It is considered a mid season short course championship and tune up to Age Group Champs held in March. The Aquatic center has locker rooms, showers and private changing areas for men and women. The building also has a multi purpose room and concessions. When the pool is not in use it is open for active military to utilize for laps. Swimming lessons are also offered for both children and adults. The center can also be used for birthday parties. Everything about the place except for the adventure area is old, old old. The pool serves the military community as well the swimming community who hold meets. The adventure area is great for families to enjoy. The pool is huge and the water slides very fun and efficient (wait times are short). I took my granddaughter for a weekend swim and we both had a great time. The water slides are the bomb, especially for a local pool that is not part of a theme park. The pool area is large and even on a weekend we had plenty of room to swim and horse around. They allow beach balls and small pool toys. The pool offers fun for all age kids - the baby pool has mushrooms and slides and there is even a mid size slide for kids too old for the baby pool but not ready for the big slides. All of the lifeguards we encountered were smiling and friendly. The snack bar has a wide variety of ice cream, drinks, and unhealthy fried foods (fries, Snickers, Twinkies) and service was fast and efficient. The inside eating area has lots of tables but is very dark. Now for the things that need improvement: Bathrooms are dingy and old, but not unclean. The party deck wood is old and I would worry about splinters. They have nice areas with tables and umbrellas to eat, but NO poolside chairs. Come on! For $20 weekend admission they should have chairs lining the pool area. The parking lot needs paving and spot markers, and the outside needs better signage to find the entrance. Even with all these negatives, I have to give 4 stars because my granddaughter had a wonderful time (she can't wait to go back) and the other patrons seemed to be having fun as well.

Besides that we will not be coming back. $20 is not worth going to a "family establishment " that isn't so friendly.

I rode this at night time and you will get soaked on the ride even though there is no water falls…read more I remember it was a one and done for me as I got wet. A fun ride especially at night since you do not know what is going on. The problem also is they make you get off the ride and go back in line which the line can be a trek to get there.

11/6/19 The White Water Canyon…read more.. Back in the 80's and my early 90's, I truly enjoyed going on this ride. Back then it seemed the words "you will get wet on this ride" rang true...no, in reality...YOU WOULD GET SOAKED ON THIS RIDE!  There was no question about it. The lines for this ride varied Some times you did not have a line or much of a line. Other times the line was up the wazoo. You could spent 60 minutes to three hours just to get on this ride. Yes, the ride was very popular. Especially when the day was very hot, you would be cooled off. I remember going on this ride and not wearing a bathing suit at times. The feeling of walking around in the wet clothes, but especially the wet underwear feeling wasn't good. Back in the days, swim wear was the best way to go. My last few times I went on this ride,  I remember  going down the rapids getting blasted by water guns from the other coin machines,  hitting waves of rapids, brushing up against the small waterfall and the middle water fall. If you happened  to make it past that point, there were the water geysers to contend with in two sections of the ride.   Finally, if you were lucky enough to get only partially wet like Emily Cantini and David Tropoja, you would not be so lucky when you reached the saw mill. Right at the end of the ride you would start hearing a roaring noise.  That would not be the sound of one hand clapping.  The sound would be hearing is the two large walls of water pouring out the sides of the shed.  The use to be a sign that said No Chance. These walls of water were design to get your ass wet. 99% of the time water would pour all over you and your friends or temporary seat buddy.  The wet sloshy sounds your shoes will make could be heard as you leave the ride would be heard and felt.  The last two times I went on this ride, I had a different experience.  Knowing I was going to get wet on this ride, I wore  wetsuit  to King's Dominion.  I remember it being a very hot day, but suprisingly the line for the White Water Canyon wasn't very long.   Although I did have to wait about 30 minutes to get on the ride, the trees gave off a nice kind of shade. Getting wet was part of the plan and I wasn't disappointed until the end. I was looking forwards to the twin waterfalls, but it didn't happen.  It didn't happen the second time I went there either.  I don't know why King's Dominion stopped the twin Falls in the mill section, because it was the most interesting part of the ride. People would do what they could to get their partner, friends and strangers soaked.  Every once and a while, one person including myself has made it through No Chance waterfalls section. If someone out there knows why King's Dominion has turned off the Saw Mill Waterfalls, I would love to know.  Still, this ride is a four star in my opinion.  It could easily be five stars if they fixed that Twin Falls section, but I don't see this happening anytime soon.
