I knew I wanted to convert my front yard from grass to something more drought resistant. Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with creativity and/or the ability to just look at something and see how it can be changed. I had three different companies come out and told them all the basics of what I did not want but as for what can be done I let them run with it. Water Saving Landscapes (Rick) by far had the best ideas and priced comparable to the others. He had ideas/suggestions that I wouldn't have even thought about. Adding a bit more "hardscape", like laying some brick in a couple areas to match what I already had there. Adding rocks and boulders in other places, along with plants. Changing the path the rain would take on those rare occasions we get rain. Making it like a little creek bed on the one side. It was a nice touch. I have a pretty decent size front yard and he thought it would take 4 - 5 days and was right on his timeline, finishing in about 4 1/2 days. He and his crew always cleaned up after each day of work so nothing was ever in the way of our daily comings and goings. Rick of Water Saving Landscapes re-did our front yard after we had a large tree removed because the roots were starting to cause problems. His knowledge & experience in landscaping was reflected as he helped guide us in the best way to bring curb appeal to our house. Part of the job included removing our concrete sidewalk, where he encountered an elaborate web of old tree roots. He went above and beyond to get many huge/all the roots removed so that when he put in our new pavers that would be replacing the sidewalk it would be done right. My front yard was covered by ugly grass and it was so expensive to water especially in the summer. I found out about the rebate program from my water company called Turf replacement program which provide a partial refund for the removal of grass and installation water saving landscape. In order to be eligible for the program I had to apply first and receive project start approval before removing any turf. But first I had to find the right and reliable contractor who know how to install the new landscape according with water district rules and guidelines. Oh boy it wasn't so easy! I called several companies I sent bunch queries to contractors in Riverside Country. Either I didn't get response or they were not familiar with the project. Finally - I found this company called Water Saving Landscape and I asked about the rebate program. The owner Rick was very familiar with it and gave me many ideas and presented plenty of pictures of different designs. His estimate was good too. He also fixed my broken sprinkler system and installed a new low water draining for the new beautiful landscape. Would not hire Rick again. He came out and did an adequate job with installation on a few projects including swapping out irrigation valves and uplighting on palm trees though I always had problems with getting him to come back to fix leaks and other minor follow up items after final payment was made and had to call and text multiple times often resorting to calling his wife to get him to come back out. The last job we hired him for was to install string lights. He put them in but we had to have an electrician run power. Half the lights were not working after the power was turned on and Rick came out said he would fix the problem with a split kit a few days later but he never showed. I called and after a few attempts he said he would come out and didn't show up again. He is now not returning any calls or texts. Very unprofessional and frustrating considering we spent over $6k with this guy. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your landscaping needs. read more

Needed my 3 Mesquite trees trimmed and guy wired down rather than the ugly posts that are used all over the state. These guy wires make it look much more presentable. Rick took care of this for me. I also requested that he pick up/deliver/spread mulch (gorilla hair) down for me in the front and back yard. My yard required 7 1/2 yards of mulch. Rick spent the entire time, without a break, to accomplish this big project. First off this company does not answer their phone, when I called to schedule an appointment they did not answer. They eventually called me back and said they would text me when the appointment would work for them. After we arranged a date and time and I sent in my address I never got a response.
