Like many SoCal houses, mine has only the garage door on the east side, facing the street. My so-called "front door" is at the south side, a 30-foot walk to the front stoop from the driveway. Around back, west-facing, is a 22 foot by 14 foot patio. All this surface is concrete, poured in 1984, and was in dire need of resurfacing. Asked FF concrete services to give a facelift to concrete stairs and walkway. They offered to tear out all concrete and repair or do a coating. 2 months later after rain it looked all mottled and the top coating flaking off. Comments from the business minion. 1. "It's your fault because you chose the product. We offered to tear out the concrete " Seriously? You gave an option I picked. I rely on you as a business to offer a product that will not fail. 2. "Did we give you a warranty? No?, so too bad. We don't give warranties for this product" 3. "90% of the time water intrusion is not an issue, we have more issues with our epoxy coatings. I have done 1000's of these." Seriously so you have hundreds of failures? 4. "We can install drains so water will not be an issue, I guarantee it." WTF, the water spotting happened next to a drain already in place. Makes no sense. No one explained that if the ground gets wet it will look terrible. My property slopes down to a street 5 feet lower. It's not a swamp and does drain. 5. Minion was offended that I said I could do a better job, then I pointed to the excellently retiled porch and steps I did 4 years ago. His reply "So why didn't you do it yourself?" I would have if I knew the job you did would look so terrible. 6. Said he would give an estimate for replacing all the concrete. Not holding my breath as it's been days. Ray came out last year and worked on an epoxy floor in the garage. Something I've always wanted, but never had the money for. Unfortunately, there was a defect in the manufacturers product, which resulted in some abnormalities in the epoxy curing process. The manufacturer actually came out to my place and confirmed it was an issue with their product and not Ray's team. After the floor was finished curing it continued having some issues. I called Ray and he said it was under warranty and to call back near the end of the year, and he would take care of it. A year later, I called Ray and he and his team came out and ground the previous epoxy floor down to the surface. Not an easy task and a ton of work, but he truly stood by his company's warranty and made it right. He ended up putting a new black epoxy flor down, which looks amazing!!!... as you can see from the photos. I cannot recommend Ray and the team from Foundation Flooring enough and I will definitely be using them for other projects in the future. read more
