Had my daughter's 7th birthday here. They set up a party room for us for an hour, before we headed down to the water park area. They provided two party hosts/helpers, they were AMAZING! They decorated, provided music(frozen theme), served pizza and cake, then cleaned up. They even provided and played a pin the tail on the donkey style game(Frozen themed) for the children. Such a wonderful experience. After the hour in the room we were lead down to the pool facilities. It is so cool in there! All of the kids aged 3-8 were blown away when we walked through the doors. They were all very excited. Everything was so clean, the pool and changing rooms. It was a fantastic facility with amazing people that made my daughter's birthday such a joy. read more

Took two toddlers for afternoon swim about 3pm. It was pretty busy and loud but manageable. They closed the kids pool for cleaning for about 30 minutes but we liked that there were other pools we could go to while we waited. read more

Great slides, fun pool, diving boards...all you need for an indoor water park day. There is a lot to keep the kids busy. A couple of suggestions for the CRC...a bit less chlorine, I know it's a public pool, but the chill tone burns the eyes. A bigger kitchen, it's a long wait for a pizza because I just don't think they have the equipment they need. More tables, there is just not enough seating space. I'll go back, the price is great! The options in the water are awesome. Just be prepared for your eyes to burn. read more

Water Works should be great, but has a lot of problems. Overall, we would not return nor would we recommend this facility to a friend or even an enemy. Pros - Affordable Price - Full Range of Activities Cons - Chemicals in the pool are VERY strong and you will come home feeling itchy and scratchy - Chairs and places to sit are lacking - Facility generally feels worn and in need of maintenance - Mr. E felt that the rope wall, water slides and lazy river were not well done We wanted to love it, would have even book OK to like it, but probably better choices out there. read more

Beware of very rough pool surfaces. Visited this pool today with three young girls (4,6&7). At first we were all very excited... Lots of fun safe activities for the girls to do that We Thought, not too crowded.... But as the day wore on we kept having the girls come In and out of the pool nursing painful scrapes to elbows, knees and especially toes and feet. The bottom of the kiddie pool, is extremely rough and it is very easy to scrape against these surfaces with sensitive kid skin! We will not be taking the girls back, which is too bad because this pool had great potential. After about 2 hours, all three girls had major bleeding scrapes on both feet, we had a majorly scraped knee (silver dollar sized) and a scraped elbow. read more

I was nervous about coming back here after a previous bad experience. Our last visit was during the winter when it was quite cold outside. The heat was not cranked up enough and the water was cold. It was unbearable and we only lasted 1.5 hours. Total waste of money. Came today to give it another chance. My 2nd grade son and I could not use the family locker room because I did not have my ID on me. So he had to go to the men's locker room and I used the women's. This is unacceptable to me. I have never been to another pool where families can't just use the family locker room without being hassled. He ends up getting confused and I couldn't find him. We both ended up having to find employees to help up locate each other after being separated for about 7 minutes. I was definitely freaking out thinking some weirdo in the men's locker room had attacked him. We won't be back. While we had fun swimming, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Great indoor water park at a reasonable price. It's very nice that they have a concession stand. Water is on the cold side but not as bad as Glenview's indoor waterslide. Very strong chemical smells though, worse than other indoor water parks. My eyes were burning after a while. They do need a third lifeguard around the play structure; this is a large area with obstructed views and it seems very dangerous for there not to be a lifeguard with a view of each area of the play structure section. I wish there were more lighting (ideally sun lights in the roof.) The whole thing is quite impressive for a park district facility. read more

Went her for a field trip after original water park was closed . Beautiful park and playground . Staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful. Water park is very limited but their is something for every level of swimmer there is. They are WELL prepared for dealing with a lot of kids. The only downside was the temperature . That place was HOT !! .... With the high temperatures and the over abundance of chlorine, my eyes were still red a day later. Even the water was lukewarm. Eww, not exactly for swimming. Another week, another water park. After our Labor Day trip to Magic Waters, my older son and his 3 year old Stunt Boy brother wanted to visit a water park on a warm Sunday in late summer. Well, since most places closed for the season, our choices were limited to indoors. We've had info about Waterworks for a while now but never went there. Turns out we will be coming here more often now. Run by the Schaumburg Park District, this place is perfect for the preschool to 10 year old crowd. Nothing spectacular, but a well-kept indoor park, and for a lot less than going to the Dells or one of the local water park places. Located on the backroads of Schaumburg, south of Golf and west of Roselle Road, you drive through some beautiful subdivisions and walking/biking trails, some of the best suburbia can offer. Waterworks is located inside the park's fieldhouse, as part of its swimming pool. For non-residents, we were able to get in as a family of 4 for only $25. You get a key for a spacious locker and go to the dressing area. There are 3 dressing areas: men, women and family. It is really convenient to use the family dressing area, which has separate, shower-equipped changing stalls. It makes it more manageable to get the kids dressed and then get yourself ready too. The water park consists of a play area with 3 slides and an assortment of valves, sprayers and hose-like gun turrets. The water ranges from wading pool to 3 feet. There is a current pool that is fun to swim through, but it's all done on a smaller scale than any commercial indoor water park like Mayan Adventures or Key Lime Cove. Still, for the money it's a real bargain and a good way to pass 3 hours on a Sunday with the kids having non-stop fun. For the grownups or bigger kids, there's 2 larger slides with a 48" minimum height to ride them. On the other end of Waterworks is what amounts to a waterfall-style slide, dropping you into the water very fast. Few people got on that one. There's also a 4-lane lap pool for swimming. The water feels chilly at first, but once you go inside, it's warm and pleasant . Plenty of lifeguards on duty making sure nobody is goofing off or being unsafe. There's even a concession stand called Barefoot Cafe. We will probably be coming here again in the winter months when there's nothing to do, as this is a year-round indoor water park. While it's no substitute for Great Wolf or one of the big indoor parks, it's affordable, fun and close by in the NW Burbs. For the midwest... this doesn't get any better for an indoor PARK DISTRICT water park. It isn't the Dell's but is close enough for family and friends. I held my son's 6th birthday party here. (Via Yelping EVERY indoor waterpark possible in range close enough for people to come.) I did a 2 hour semi private rental + concession stand area and everyone really had a great time. There was a hot tub for the adults and lap pool. For big kids the drop slide and diving board, and for the little ones of course a 3ft deep mini lazy river with a kiddie area. It was a dream come true for the little ones! Lifeguards were all very friendly and polite. The staff is also very helpful. I couldn't ask for more! This was really the best place in our area to have a fun and SAFE pool party bash! read more

This place is really great for families. There are two normal water slides good for both kids and adults. Then there is a water playground area for kids with two littler water slides and a very mini lazy river like channel. There is also a deep pool with diving board and a hot tub. So basically something here for everyone. They have a locked family changing area that is quite nice and includes lockers, toilet, shower, baby changing table and water extractor machine for your swim wear. The lifeguards are watchful and there are plenty of them. Admission for non-residents is a little steep ($9 per adult, $7 per kid) and the water in the playground area was way too chilly. But otherwise this is a great place. read more

This is either a four-star community pool, or a three star water park. I choose to believe it is a very very nice indoor community pool. For twenty five dollars, a family of three splashed the cold spring day away. It's only half an hour from us, and it's clean, maintained and fun. The concession isn't too badly overpriced-, the slides are fun, and the hot tub is hot. Best of all, it is very popular. Lots of other kids for my son to play with. Looked at the birthday rates, and I see an autumn swim party in our future. Very very nice. read more

I hesitate to call this place a waterpark, but is is a very nice park district indoor swimming pool area with a few slides, diving boards, hot tub and a tree house style kids area. Locker rooms are clean, towels are privided and there is even a cafe to grab a snack from. I will take away a star because the chlorine level is so high and almost too overwhelming to sit in, please reconsider bringing in your infant. read more

This place is awesome! Worth every penny! I went with a group of friends and our kids. It is nice and open, clean, and the staff is friendly. I love how organized they have it. I also appreciated the fact that they did not allow children in the hot tub. A lot of places post "no children" and then don't enforce it. There were lanes for lap swim, which I personally appreciate because I like to get my exercise in. When you walk in, on the left there are two slides, one open and one tube. The blue tube on has an awesome unexpected drop! Next to that there is a large area for smaller children. Then you have a HUGE pool to enjoy swimming, and again the lanes for lap swim. To the right of that there is a plunge slide and a separate area with a diving board. Honestly this place has it all!!!!! The cafe has food at great prices, I got the kids a snack (chips & a chocolate milk were $2). There were plenty areas to sit throughout the facility. Locker rooms were very spacious and clean, separate showers with curtains and separate dressing rooms with curtains. I really appreciated the privacy!!!! Good soap in the showers too!!!! There is also a "family" locker room which is a nice size where whole families can go together (co ed). I seen someone come in with a small cooler too, so I believe they allow them, but don't quote me. I highly recommend this place!!!!!! You will not be disappointed. I know it's spring break and crowds are expected, but don't let so many damn people in all at once and then close half of the pool for "lap swimming" Seriously? There's not enough chairs, so you're either stuck sitting on the side somewhere or basically standing. The smell of chlorine was so overpowering that our eyes were hurting. The kids were running around like animals and nobody stopped them. This was a waste of money and drive.. we only stayed for about 45 min. It was impossible to move in the pool and the other areas were over crowded too. Then we come out. to go in the family changing room and it's locked. So, you have to go back out in the cold lobby to get a key. What a joke! I would never come back here or recommend this place. read more

Neat place to take the kids for a swim and rides on the slides. Busy but a good way to spend a rainy PM with active kids.

My daughter and I are always trying out new indoor pools and this one is awesome! I read some poor reviews and was hesitant to try it out. I think it's our favorite. Fun, relaxing, warm. I felt the locker room was spacious, the water was warm, you can spot little ones from all angles. We've tried Glenview, Niles, Bolingbrook....this one beats them all...dive in!! read more

Great place to take the kids during the winter months. My 4 year old had such a blast and my 10 year old loved it. They have family changing rooms, which I regretted not getting with my Husband and our children. They also rent out float jackets for not so strong swimmers and offer lockers with no charge. My husband and I just brought our nearly 4 year old son and had a blast. We went on a Saturday at 1 pm and anticipated a crowd. We were surprised to find a comfortable density of people- enough so he had kids to play with, few enough that he rarely had to wait to go down slides. The kiddie section, appropriate fro ages 2-7 was by far the most popular, but there was also a generously sized hot tub, lap pool and water slides for the big kids. Friendly staff, great price, wonderful amenity. The only way they could improve is by adding healthy snacks to the grill's menu. Apple slices, carrot sticks, clementines etc would have prolonged our stay, but I can't really complain- we had a great afternoon. read more

Granted it was over spring break but this pool was definitely over capacity. There was barely any room to even move in the small kiddie area due to it being so crowded. The woman at the register for the concessions area was rude and clearly annoyed at taking orders. When there was a medical emergency that required paramedics they didn't even close any of the kiddie pool area near it while the event was going on. We will not be back. read more

Food at this place is terrible. I order a cheeseburger and it is all burnt. Also I ordered a big pretzel and it was not soft. The water park here is fine but it gets boring after a while. That is all I have to say about this place. read more

Had a birthday party for my 4 year old here this past weekend and couldn't have been more pleased. The party staff was beyond helpful- anticipating everything we may need, and they were great with the kids. The pizza and cake which were provided in the party were fantastic- we received many compliments. I found the cost for the party to be very reasonable, and for me was a bargain for my daughter to have fun swimming with her friends, and I didn't have to entertain at my house. The pool facility is large and there are a lot of options for younger and older children, as well as adults. I would highly recommend for a winter day, or for a birthday party. read more

I used to really like this place... There are two water slides, and plunge slide and diving board, a kiddie splash area with climbing features, a "whirl pool", and three slides for younger kids, a hot tub, concession stand, lockers for rent, and a main pool for swimming and laps. Most recently, I have been less than impressed. You arrive, they take your money, and don't tell you before you pay that certain areas are closed. Twice I have gone and the kiddie area is closed for 20-30 minutes. Currently, they have the entire pool shut down for maintenance. Seriously, who closes a pool in August?! In addition, when the pool is open and swimming is allowed, the lifeguards are so focused on the rules they choose to enforce, that they don't enforce the safety they should. They allow adults to go down kiddie slides, they don't say a word when kids (over the age of 12) don't wait for little ones to clear the bottom of the kiddie slides before plowing into them, don't say a word when older kids jump off the walls onto kids swimming in the main pool, and I'm pretty sure they don't enforce an occupancy limit, because when camps are there the kids are packed in like sardines. Rule they do enforce: You are NEVER allowed to go into a lap lane; even if the pool is over-crowded, even if no one is using them, even if you are trying to teach a toddler to swim and lap swimming them a quarter of the way and back, and even if one lifeguard tells you it's OK since no one is using it. If you aren't actively swimming laps, i.e. going one end to another. So basically, you are not allowed to use half of the main pool. read more

I would give this place 5 stars except that they have a wonderful big 12 foot pool that's divided in half for a water slide and a diving board the rest of the pool has to remain empty. Also it was cold for an indoor water park and they had a van blowing towards a pool and one at the top of the slides. The small slide that drops you straight into 12 feet of water is more intense then most big water slides because you don't expect to fall that deep in. The other 2 water slides that fall into about 3 feet of water are pretty fun without the long walk and flights of stairs. They have a nice kiddie area with a miniature lazy river. The hot tub was very relaxing although it should be kid friendly. Overall this place competes with indoor resort water parks if you compare price and perks. The kids where very entertained, I didn't have to rent a room, I didn't have to travel for hours, the food was reasonably priced, the whole place is clean, I could see my kids from almost any angle, and most of the staff where pretty nice. read more

Came with grandkids. The 7 year old and 18 mo old had a blast. Are water guns allowed? I saw kids and adults squirting each other and nothing was said by the guards. I saw kids eating food in front of the hot tub and nothing was said. A lady getting in line of fire by the squirt guns was very annoyed but she did not say anything. The is a little current by lazy river and you have to be careful because I almost fell with my bad knees. My daughter brought a stroller in which was allowed. They rent life jackets for kids for $5.00 which I think was expensive. read more

The bathroom and family locker room are ridiculous. The fam locker room is so damn small and only has one bathroom. Of course the lock on the bathroom is broken, which makes it worse. And if u want to jump into the girls locker room quickly to go to the bathroom, U can't unless u go in from the pool side since the door has a lock on it. Irritating!! read more

I do not think anyone commented on this place about "how cold the water in the pool!" My son took swimming class offered by park district for my 5years old son, but we had to quit the class because he kept complain about how cold the water in the pool! I feel like we wasted our money. read more

Took my neice and nephew (5&6) and they loved it. With young children they were exhausted after 1.5 hours and I wish we didn't have to pay for a full day as with 5 of us being non-residents it cost us $50 to swim for an hour and a half. I don't believe that was worth it to go back again but the kids had a blast. Great for children under 12 but the drop slides are fun for adults and older children. read more

I find it incredible that if Grandma wants to sit on the pool deck and watch her grandkids they must pay an entrance fee of $9......really?? I guess at 3 on a Sunday afternoon it is way too crowded for Grandma.........bad news.........poor relations for the park district read more

This place has the worst life guards and swim instructors that I have ever seen. My son was taking swim lessons. In his group, it was just him, another kid, and the swim instructor. The swim instructor wasn't paying attention to my kid and he started to drown since they were in larger pool doing the swim lessons. Not even the lifeguard noticed. I had to go in and save him myself. Do NOT go here. This place is a ripoff! They can't be trusted to protect and save lives of anyone whom is drowning. The staff are all rude. The swim instructor and lifeguard did not even apologize or ask if he was ok once they noticed what happened. This place is a joke! Do not go here or you may not come out alive. read more
