Best place to re-fill my 5-gallon bottles for alkaline water. Friendly staff. I recommend them.

I love waterboy, I have been coming for years and have always been service by the same two people and they have always been careful with how they handle and touch my water jugs. On Monday I went in around 5 pm and there was a new guy, first the new guy proceeds to remove the lid from the jug but when he takes off the lid he touch's the inside part of the lid and then he grabs the jug by the throat and the handle. When he was done he proceeds to grab the throat of my jug and pushes it, he then grabs the lid and try's to put it on but he puts his fingers all in the jug. I feel like that was all unsanitary, I have not use the water jug that he put his hands in. I might just throw the whole jug away because I don't know what this man was touching before he touched the water jugs. read more

I don't what that one star review was about below where the person claims that they were discriminated against because they are Asian, but my wife is "Asian," and I am white, for what all that is worth... (race doesn't matter at all to us) and neither of us EVER had any complaints or problems at this store. In fact, (I am in a wheelchair) the guy that always helps us is SUPER NICE. He always helps me load my van with water. What I think is, generally IF you treat a person with respect and particularly if you are nice and have a nice tone of voice and facial expressions, you will usually get great service. Probably that person below was irritated that the machine took his money, and he or she had some sort of aggressive disposition manifested to the guy who was already helping someone. Folks, you have to wait your turn. My parents taught me that when I was FOUR. And no one likes to be snarled at. I don't even like it when pet dogs do that to me at peoples' homes. (Case in point - a little snarling Chihuahua lol) I will say another good thing about this store. One time when I was there buying a lot of water, when I went to pay, my card was declined. I didn't have enough cash money on me to pay, so he told me to pay him next time. How nice! You don't see that very often, particularly if your debit card is declined. :) So I went out of my way to come back that day and pay him what I owed him. He looked happy and surprised (lol) when I returned with the money. What's my point? It is this. I have NEVER had a problem at this store and we come frequently. Even the CUSTOMERS there are nice and offer to help me with my carts. The wheelchair probably has a lot to do with all that, but still, people, please think twice before you rag on a business here on yelp for next to nothing. People read these reviews and it DOES affect a business's livelihood. Everybody seems to want to get even now days and many times this is sometimes true because of little, trivial things. The only place I'll get my water!!!!!!!! 30 cents per gallon. I come every week to refill two five gallon jugs. They high pressure rinse the bottles before refilling. Water is fresh and doesn't have a weird taste like some other water places. They close at 7pm but they have a self service water machine outside that can be accessed anytime for 25 cents per gallon. Sometimes I get off work too late and can't make it before closing and use that machine. It's the same water but I don't get my bottle pressure rinsed. Love Water Boy! read more

Just went in yesterday for the first time! The staff was super nice and helpful!! Super convenient they have a water dispenser outside. You save 5 cents per gallon if you fill up outside. One of my staff members donated a water cooler to our faculty lounge, prompting us to consider the hydration needs of the staff. When I was a kid, nobody carried little bottles of water around... You had a drink of water in the morning, maybe a trip or two to the water fountain, and a big glass of water before you went to bed. Now, it seems that humans will turn to dust and blow away (oops... SPOILER ALERT) if they don't drink water every three minutes. Anyway, we ordered a water service, which averaged about eight bucks a bottle... probably not bad for 5 gallons of good clean filtered municipal water, but a little steep for a group of teachers on staff who were cameling their way through 30 gallons of water a week! After a couple of months, we canceled the service, but a few BPA free bottles, and started going to Waterboy. A 5 gallon refill is $1.50, and that includes a quick rinse out of the bottle, and minimal chitchat with the worker. with multiple filling stations, the whole process... Not counting drive time... Takes about five minutes. We are effectively paying 1/5 of the cost of delivery service, and with the half mile drive to and from the place, it's worth it to me. There are a few water appliances for sale in the store, and alkaline water is one dollar per gallon if you're into that sort of thing. Me? I get in, get out, and take the bottles back to school, where my thirsty staff and I fill our Yetis and Nalgenes with wreckless abandon for a fraction of the cost of delivery. As an aside, I put 20 gallons of water in my garage as part of my earthquake kit. Even though they have been saying the big one is coming for 30 or 40 years now, it's a six dollar insurance policy that will have a few days worth of water to cook and drink. Probably not a bad idea for you, too.... at least if you're one of my SoCal pals. read more

I want to begin saying I am asian (and I'll leave it at that). We (my mom and dad) came here to buy water for the first time, and the machine ate our 30¢.Very minor thing. But I notice right when we walked in to say hi (as a friendly gesture), before telling him, he ignored us and talked to the other guy that walks in who's also Hispanic - like him. Still completely ignoring us. We politely tell him we put in 30 cents, and water isn't coming out. He continues ignoring us. The other customer who seems to frequent there, kindly comes out to help us figure it out. That's when the owner comes out and says we didn't put in money. We said we did (and it's just 30 cents, we wouldn't try to con him). But he kept saying we didn't put in 30 cents and it's just 30 cents. We said yes it's 30 cents, which is why it's not about the money. After he goes in and gets 30 cents putting it in saying that we just didn't want to put in 30 cents for water. And then proceeds to say "whatever you just want free water get your free water." That's INSULTING. So I told him it's just 30 cents, we would not con 30 cents. I told him why don't he take a look at his camera if he has one, because he clearly doesn't believe us. That's when he decides to walk in the store to ignore us - but not before saying whatever just get your water. When I took a pic of him he gets upset and brings his phone back out to record us. I knew better than to try and argue so that he can spin the story however way he wants. It's the principal of the matter, and it was WRONG how he insulted us. read more

Only positive things to say about this place. Tired of paying $20 every month for bottle delivery from companies like Arrowhead? You pay $1.75 for a 5 gallon fill of RO water here (and they actually fill to the top). The water quality and taste are good, not great. The RO water is still just highly filtered municipal water. Arrowhead delivery has just become too expensive for me to continue. I use this water for hydration, for cooking, for beverages (tea, powdered Gatorade, and powdered energy drinks), and as a bedtime water. When I want to enjoy a premium water, I drink Fiji or Evian. On average, I fill up two 5-gallon jugs every 2 weeks. Having the after hours fill is handy as well. I do not trust filling at Primo Water Fill Stations because of how inconsistently they check and clean their filters. read more

Although summer is still over a month away, you can count on Cali's beautiful weather to keep you sweating year round. Decided to check this place out after seeing their reviews, and I must say it was a pleasant experience. I was helped out by a guy named Shake, very friendly and professional. I haven't tried the alkaline water yet but I am sure it will taste amazing. Oh! and I am happy that it is close by Trader Joe's, I can refill on groceries and water at a time. Ps. I got diarrhea everytime i drink the water. I didnt realize until i test the water.The water is red when i test it (48 ppm). I test it in the front of the employee so he can see it.Im a customer who comes twice a week. I love alkaline water but it's really expensive to buy by the bottle at the market (Essentia is my go-to). Luckily I found a shop that sells it for only $1 per gallon! The nice thing even though I wash them after each use, this place will give it a quick rinse before refilling. The only down side is that unlike some other places it isn't self-serve. The gallon bottles fill up fast so it's not a big deal. I'll definitely be back. read more

I always get alkaline water here since it tastes soooo good and sweet that now I just can't go back to regular water. They have all sizes/kinds of water bottles and water related items so it was easy to get one and fill water at one-stop. I don't usually leave reviews since I don't remember to, but after seeing the previous unfair review, I decided to leave this one because I've been coming here for a while, even though I don't live close by. First of all, the last review seems suspicious just from the content and why would you still be thirsty after drinking water? Maybe drink more water then? Either way, love their Alkaline water. It's really affordable, and they test it on request which a lot of places don't. A business that does that has my vote. Parking isn't that great, but the water makes up for it. read more

I Read other reviews on this place and thought I gave it a try. The area is a bit ghetto next to the the other big nice shopping center across the street. I felt their water wasn't that good. I was still thirsty after drinking the Alkaline water. That wasn't what I was expecting. Will be going back to my usual Alka Pi Water store in OC or other cities. It's more but it's so worth it. They now sell Alkaline Water for a very affordable price, $1 per gallon (other stores sell for $1.50). pH was 9 last time they checked it for me at the store, tastes great as well. Came here for Purified water and it seemed a little expensive at 30cents a gallon but when the worker told me they rinse it with the same water it sounded like it good deal. Also found out they sell Alkaline water. I'll try that next time. Their purified water tasted great too. Will be back. read more
