Beautiful park! Beautiful falls! Love going here for lunch, taking walks, fishing and taking the kids for outdoor adventures!!

It's just a park with a waterfall, nothing fancy about it. It smells sometimes. And it's dirty.

I will say that the fishing here is great but the playground is not. If you're a fisherman like me, you would love this place as I myself have caught tons of fish and even quite a few turtles. I will say, though the playground is almost nonexistent, so this is not the best place to go with kids. Obviously not a problem for me, but for the little kids, I would go to a different park. Other than that, the park is very crowded and very nice. read more

Grossest bathrooms. We are on a cross country driving trip. Stopped for a picnic driving break. No waterfalls, lots of goose poop, most unclean bathrooms ever. No way I'd let my kids play here. read more

A wonderful little park nestled in a woody area next to a fishable lake. The modern playground is in the shade of nature trees and as a synthetic ground cover for safety. An asphalt paved hiking/biking path winds through the park. Contrary to other reviews, there IS a waterfall: you can see it from the road that navigates the back of the park. Restrooms are near a small parking lot and picnic pavilion. If the lot is full you can find additional parking on two very close retail lots. read more

The park is clean and attractive. Also, you can reserve a shelter for your party. Dogs are also allowed.

It was such a cute little place to go have a picnic or hike. The waterfall was so pretty I regret not taking a lock cause some couples have a lot there. read more

Yes, found a couple of waterfalls here! A beautiful park with playground picnic area fishing area and long paved walks around a water reclamation pond. I like that the ponds attracted a bunch of turtles birds and jumping fishes. There is a Bass pro shop and a couple of other large restaurants that line the pond. This park is a favorite of families, couples and dog walkers. I liked being able to hear the chirping of the birds and the singing of the crickets along this walk. There is a restroom near the parking lot. Bring water, did not come across a water fountain to drink at along the trails. read more

It was a nice park although we never saw the waterfall. We went to feed the duck on such a pleasant day but the lake had ice on top and all the smart ducks were wintering in Florida. Nice playgrand and rocks to climb, nice! read more

I'm a fan of parks, and especially with Covid going on, the more parks to visit, the better. It's been a minute since I've been here, but I've done 5ks through it, and used to find it as a relaxing spot during lunch breaks when I worked nearby. Note, I haven't taken my kiddo to the playground which would probably have more influence on this! Overall, it's fine. Who doesn't like waterfalls? But it's definitely a bit sterile and manmade, and not at all comparable to, say, Parkville Nature Sanctuary. I give them a tip of the cap for adding this feature into an area that needs it, but it's certainly not a destination unless you're right by it. read more

Visited today for the very first time. We immediately thought the park was very cute. Walking trails, play ground, tables for picnics and a waterfall! We let the kids play for a little bit then we decided to hike over to the waterfall. Unfortunately there is no sidewalk that leads to the waterfall so you have to walk a ways in the street, luckily one side is closed down but be careful. Overall we had a great time and will be back soon. read more

AWESOME spot for kids to let off steam a short distance from a Tesla supercharger. The pond had ducks in it (some were wandering near the play equipment, too). The playground outshone the ducks for my preschoolers with unusual features like a rope web and large rock structure to climb in addition to the usual fare. Wish every charging stop were like this! read more

I was going to Hobby Lobby, and I got caught in the turn around, ended up going another way and drove clear to the other side of Bass Pro Shop. Irritated me, but it's alright. I found Waterfall Park. It is located just southwest of Hobby Lobby, and before entering the large parking lot of Bass Pro Drive. If you drive by it, you'll see the parking lot. I go to Hobby Lobby often, I never thought to stop. At first, I didn't think it was much of a park, per se, but I was surprised when I got out of my car, and walked around. The Parks and Recreation Department created a nice little oasis, hidden in the "marshes" of the Little Blue River. There is a small parking lot, which beckoned me to park. There were kids on the playground equipment, which is one large main unit. There is also a smaller playground, across from it. Plenty of picnic tables, with a plethora of trees for shading. The trees were there, before the park was built. They make it look perfectly woodsy. There is a large shelter house, on the side of the lake, which was built for Bass Pro Shop. The lake intercepts with the Little Blue River, and there's trails, made with mulch, leading a short walk to the river bank. Around this area, people can fish, or sit and watch the river. I heard ducks, but didn't see them. In the park itself, the picnic tables have a few outdoor grills near them. There's fully equip bathrooms, that are roomy and clean. Pretty good for a Missouri park. I saw plenty of people utilizing the many walking trails around the area. I also saw people with dogs on a leash. In Independence, this is a plus. I love the river setting. It's peaceful, and reconnects people with nature. read more

Beautiful park. Great play area for kids. Bathrooms are eh. Beautiful dock to fish from and view the pond. Ducks and geese all over and this lots of poop on the ground. Guy who comes and feeds them sure doesn't help that problem! read more

A lot of walking trails, trees, playground, benches to sit on. One of our favorite parks!

We had parked in the parking lot at Waterfall park and it is a really pretty setting. Kids playing on the playground, people feeding the geese, and just enjoying the outdoors. The bank was full of people fishing and we got in about 3 miles by the time we were done exploring and walking the trail. If you are looking for a longer walk, park by the Lee Summit road entrance and start your walk/run from there. I plan on doing this next time to get in more miles and get into my zone. I am also wondering if they plan on extending the trail further as the new construction gets completed. It would be nice if they could loop the trail. Easy trail that is paved, anyone can do it! read more

I was planning on taking a jog at Loose Park with my mum, but she didn't have the time to make the trip out to Brookside. That's when I remembered the nearby Bass Pro Shop and the Waterfall Park! Hurray! It was a nice scenic trail with a pond, leaves rustling in the wind, geese doing their goose thing, etc. We passed some playground equipment that looked pretty nice. There are picnic tables and some public restrooms that reminded me of rest-stop bathrooms. We didn't feel the urge to take a peek, but they looked reasonably well-kept from the exterior. I do, however, have a few tiny complaints... 1) The waterfall is not on the trail! That really sucks.. We had to run on the tiny road with cars whizzing by us just to see the thing up close. But I must admit, the view was worth risking an untimely death by SUV. The waterfall is beautiful! 2) The amount of geese was intense. Even more intense, was the amount of goose feces. 'Nuff said. 3) The trail comes very near the rear of the Bass Pro Shop store. I may just be nit-picking, but I found it to take away from the whole being-one-with-nature thing I had going on. Other than that, it was great. I would definitely recommend this park to my friends and I will probably come back with my kids when it warms up a bit. read more

This park is great for kids! It is built for kids 5-12 but my 3 year old loved it with a little help on the climbing parts. It is shaded and has picnic tables and benches. There is even a lake with ducks to feed and a walking path. I would highly suggest it! read more

Nice park with lots of things to do. Great for kids who can't stay put and a nice view of water where you can fish. Located behind the Bass Pro Shop. You can even walk to a waterfall, which was pleasant for me. Plenty of seats to sit and relax and trees everywhere. Parking is a few feet away. read more

Nice park right in the City. Wonderful trails with lots and lots of green. Playground is newer with the softer floor.

Great urban birding spot. During the spring, expect to hear nearly all migrating warblers & vireos. The trees are alive with color in the summer with nesting pairs of Baltimore Orioles, Northern Parulas, & Red-headed Woodpeckers. The lake attracts gulls & a good variety wintering waterfowl. Great Blue Herons are year-round residents. I would give more stars, but seeing new development in the area disappoints & concerns me. read more

Waterfall Park is one of my favorites for many reasons. The kids love to play on the playground. It is very up to date with a soft floor to reduce injuries. They keep the park nice and clean. While the kids are playing, I enjoy watching for all the different birds. I also enjoy walking the park on the dedicated street walking lanes. It is such a beautiful place during the fall especially. read more

This is a lovely place. Many trees make the place shady and cozy. There is a large Pavilion with several picnic tables, and several other picnic tables spread throughout the trees. Overlooks a large pond/almost lake. Behind Bass Pro so check out the giant fishtank! read more

Always a nice place to go. Kid friendly. Fishing bear by. Parking really close. Very clean grounds. I've never gone to this park and had a bad experience. My kid loves to ride her bike here. My husband loves to fish. This park is great birthday parties. Or just a nice day outside. Of course when it's not to buggy hot. read more
