For dessert, the peanut butter pie had a wonderfully smooth, creamy texture and a rich flavor that never felt excessive. The onion ring tower is also worth ordering, especially for a group. The rings are thick, crispy, well seasoned, and clearly prepared fresh. It would be far too much for most solo diners, so plan to share. Although the restaurant is not directly on the waterfront, the patio and some tables offer views of Lake Oconee. There is ample free parking, and the regular live music and special events add to the lively local atmosphere. Lake Oconee Bistro has earned a place on my list whenever I return to the area.
