Dr. Steadmon was thorough, professional, personable and exceptional. Today, I had the privilege of an exam performed by Dr. Cheng, who recently joined the practice. I was equally impressed with her competence, knowledge and skill. Everyone I have encountered at this practice has been exceptional. The front desk staff is kind, caring and efficient. The personnel actually answer their telephone and speak with you. If you can't get scheduled as quickly as you'd like and you elect to be added to the wait list for a cancellation, they call you if one occurs. I know this because they called me when someone cancelled and I was able to be seen weeks earlier than anticipated. Ocala is fortunate to have Ocala Dermatology. This isn't an office with a shingle hung displaying a Dr.'s name and filled with P.A.'s. You will ALWAYS be seen by a medical doctor at THIS practice. Our experience, to date, is with the two doctors named above. Both are excellent! If you are seeking a skilled dermatologist in Ocala, I highly recommend this practice.

I have been coming to MidState since I moved to Ocala. I have been going to dermatologists for the…read moremajority of my life, mostly for annual skin checks. I had to find a lot of specialists on my own when we moved to Ocala because I was not familiar with the area and I did not know anyone to provide recommendations. I originally made my first appointment at the Jasmine Park location due to availability. I started coming to Deerwood because it is closest to my house and at the time, they provided Dermaplaning services. I have been coming to see Lacy monthly for Dermaplaning for over a year and I adore her. Initially, I had my first Dermaplaning service with someone else (maybe Brenda?) but I am so glad she was no longer available and I somehow wound up with Lacy. Lacy has paid attention to details on my skin during our visits and also gives me accurate treatment care for in between services. I have come once for my annual skin check here in 2023 and saw Brooklyn. She was great and answered any questions I had, as well as giving me recommendations. I am coming up on my annual skin check so fingers crossed! Everyone here is extremely professional. The office is always clean. Even the waiting room is super cozy! There is coffee, soda, water, and juice boxes as refreshments. Such a nice touch. They do sell an abundance of skin care products but I am never able to purchase them because CareCredit does not approve the brands they sell.

I was referred to Dr. Barton by a local nurse esthetician, therefore I believed I would be in good…read morehands. Dr. Barton removed a small mole on my chin that required a 3 mm punch biopsy. A few days after the removal I noticed there was a small piece of skin outside of the stitches. At that point I thought possibly a pimple. When I went back to his office to have the stitches removed I voiced my concern to the nurse. She removed the stitches and said it was probably a pimple. Dr. Barton never saw me for the stitches removal and the nurse did not get him when I voiced a concern. That should of been my first clue! So after a month of healing the raised "pimple" was still there. I called the office with my concern and made an appointment to come back in to see Dr. Barton. When he saw me he said he was not sure if it was a residual part of the mole or if it was inflammation and asked me to come back in two months. I came back today for him to tell me it is scar tissue and that he doesn't gaurantee the outcome. I replied saying I was aware there may be a scar, which he said may be a small line but what I am left with is raised skin. How can it be scar tissue when there was skin outside of the stitches 3 days after the procedure. I'm pretty sure scar tissue takes longer than 3 days to form. His last statement to me was he was sorry that I didn't like the outcome and didn't offer to try to offer any other solutions. If this was on my leg or arm or back I wouldn't care as much... but this is on my face where it is visible everyday. I am very unhappy and disappointed with his lack of concern and his attitude was basically sorry about your luck- next patient please!!
