thought I had done enough research to find what would hopefully be my dental office…read more I searched the reviews, and after reading about how friendly the staff was, how amazing the doctor was, and also the fact that they understand about people with anxiety about going to the dentist.. I thought I had found my place I must say that I did more research prior to my appointment. What I did read in many reviews was the fact that they try to "sell" you a treatment plan. People had unknowingly signed agreements and charged thousands of dollars. When I called to make my appointment, I explained that I needed a cleaning And that I wanted to establish myself as a new patient in their dental office. Today was my appointment day. I was taken in a timely manner, and everyone seem to be friendly and welcoming. The x-ray tech took a series of x-rays. Subsequently the doctor came in to discuss the findings of my x-rays. Typically, in the past, the dentist would show me the x-rays and explain to me exactly where my issues were. She did not do this, but told me that there were issues that could only be addressed with a deep cleaning and continued maintenance. I told her I was not interested in that at this time, and I had only come in for a routine cleaning. She totally disregarded what I had said because her next statement was that someone would be coming in to discuss my treatment plan. Another person enters the room and says that the person would be coming in a few minutes to discuss my treatment plan. When I told her I would not be having any treatments other than a cleaning, she told me I would have to sign a paper saying that I refuse to have the treatments! I asked her when the hygienist would be in to do my cleaning. She then proceeded to tell me that today's visit was not to do my cleaning it was only to establish myself as a new patient! She also told me they could not possibly do my cleaning today because the hygienist wasn't in!! I'm sure if I had agreed to the treatment plan, that a hygienist would suddenly appear. At that point, I told her I had wasted enough of my time, and that it was wrong that I was told I was having a cleaning at this appointment. I got up and walked out. I had my guard up regarding their so-called treatment plans because of the reviews that I had read. I wasted a whole morning, my commute to get there, my time getting the x-rays, meeting with the doctor, etc., all to leave without a cleaning!! Don't waste your time going here unless you have time to waste and money to throw away!

Prices used to be much lower than others but they are under new management and have raised their prices to the normal. The office could use some upgrades but I don't go to the dentist to remodel. I go to get my teeth fixed and they do an amazing job at that. I got three gold caps that fit perfectly. My two front teeth cracked and broke off and she made them look great. After reading many reviews, I felt I had found the perfect office; "Seaside Smiles". I went and saw Dr. McCarty with full confidence and she completely let me down. I had a very small chip on the inside of my front left bottom tooth. She shaved it down to half of its normal size and it's also crooked/slanted. She said she had to due to my bite. However, my teeth have always been straight on the bottom and now they aren't. I've never had any dentist in my 40 years of life tell me that i have anything wrong with my bite. She decided to "polish" (or what I call shave down) several of my teeth without my permission and now my bottom teeth and my front top tooth are all different sizes. This was not apart of my treatment plan. I did not sign off on any of this. After I addressed my concerns to her, she offered to "fix" what she had done wrong. I told her that I did not trust her touching any of my teeth going forward. I went to the dentist to feel more confident about my smile and to make my teeth healthy. I left there feeling worse than I ever have about my teeth. I would never recommend anyone to this practice or to Dr. McCarty specifically. I am now having to seek out a cosmetic Dentist to fix everything she has done. Which I shouldn't have to do. This has been absolutely devastating for me; financially and emotionally. Also, fun little fact; they aren't even accredited with the Better Business Bureau!!!
