This does a great job keeping the expected increased noise level of children quelled across the building. Other libraries suffer from this lack of design, so this is a great accommodation for the kids while being mindful of all others in the general space I wish they kept the carpeted ceilings tho lol

The library is the one place where everyone is welcome, the library holds the line for equitable access to everyone. Our library has 3-d printers where you can print stuff for yourself. Knowledge is power...Libraries bring that to the masses. I dare you to find a better library than Enid Public Library...I'll wait.

Plenty of books, maps, periodicals, and other things to peruse and check out. Upstairs, there are meeting rooms. You can take the stairs or elevator. Downstairs, if you take a left inside the doors, there is an almost constant book sale going on, hosted by the Friends of the Library. Proceeds go to library related things. Over in the Northwest corner, there are a few rooms you can read and study in. The Northeast corner gas items to keep toddlers busy, in addition to the books. Toddler toys used to be on the West wall. Other than shuffling things around now and then, the library still remains its friendly, inviting atmosphere. I have my library card. Do you?

But it can definitely be a pain to get your library card. Have to bring in your water bill or something and they take their time. If you know somebody who has access to the SWOSU library, I'd suggest you go there instead. Much, much bigger selection. But overall not a bad library. You can do an interlibrary loan, and they also have a not too bad selection of videos you can check out.

They have case workers that are assigned to you to help get you set up with SNAP (food stamps), HUD, TANF, Liheap, Soonercare or fostering a child along with other services. They also have court in a side room for parents whom have lost custody of their children. I've had to use their services before and now my daughter gets help here. It's been a good experience with each visit.

The staff is nice and helpful. There was an osteology exhibit this time and it was fascinating and well put together. They have a selection to pick from and all types of seating and studying spaces. Lots of computers for use and I even saw one guy watching a livrary movie on it. Never feels too crowded. I am always worried parking will be a problem, but I have found a close spot everytime I have come. There are homeless who use the facility, but I have never had any issues. None of them seemed to be on anything so security must be monitoring for that.

One of the staff members (a man working at the front desk/checkout area) was extremely rude to us. Instead of offering help or speaking politely, he raised his voice and acted disrespectfully when we asked a simple question. It made my family feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Libraries are supposed to be friendly, safe spaces for everyone, but this person's attitude completely ruined the visit. I hope management addresses this behavior so other families don't have to experience the same treatment.
