But it can definitely be a pain to get your library card. Have to bring in your water bill or something and they take their time. If you know somebody who has access to the SWOSU library, I'd suggest you go there instead. Much, much bigger selection. But overall not a bad library. You can do an interlibrary loan, and they also have a not too bad selection of videos you can check out.

Luckily, the Nye Library is there to help. When first checking into a new base, I generally head straight for the library. My ID card allows me time to sit at the computer and send out regular updates, and a book is always a welcome addition in my satchel, especially as we wait in one office after another. One of the best things about the DoD library system is that all of the catalogues are searchable, all are online for you to browse at home, and the Inter Library Loan system is worldwide!

My son loves loves loves books and we haven't even scratched the surface of the children's selection, even after numerous checkouts. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and there to help out when needed. I love reading animal books and their selection isn't extensive as the LPL. Sometimes if needing to use the computer, it can be full when some of the soldiers need to do some online training, but that's usually during lunchtime or right afterwards. But it is always clean and quiet. I can always find a book to pick up and usually have no wait to get on a computer.

I've been going there for 30 years at least and I have never heard a disrespectful word from any of the staff then up yo date now. This place has been here forever, it seems like. Very little has been done to it throughout the…read moreyears. It has a homey atmosphere. Plenty of books, maps, periodicals, and other things to peruse and check out. Upstairs, there are meeting rooms. You can take the stairs or elevator. Downstairs, if you take a left inside the doors, there is an almost constant book sale going on, hosted by the Friends of the Library. Proceeds go to library related things. Over in the Northwest corner, there are a few rooms you can read and study in. The Northeast corner gas items to keep toddlers busy, in addition to the books. Toddler toys used to be on the West wall. Other than shuffling things around now and then, the library still remains its friendly, inviting atmosphere. I have my library card. Do you?

I came here today to vote on the presidential election and thought I would take some pics of our…read morelibrary while I was here. The room we vote in is an extended room of the library with a kitchen area. It's not only used for voting, but also movie days for the kids, mimes, comedians, author's, magicians to put on their shows and crafts that the children can partake in. The library itself is full with shelves and shelves of books. There's a play area for small children and computers with games for them, there's also computers for public use and movie DVD's to check out too. Though there was no movies when I came today. Just out the door is a drop off box for books and movies that need checked back in if the library is closed. The free wifi seems to bring people around here at all times. There's the library park located outside that looks pretty popular.
