He and his assistant were very friendly. They explained every step, took it slow and checked in with me a lot the whole time. They use really updated techniques, including a GentleWave system, which honestly I had never heard of before but seemed to be really efficient. Overall, it took about 40 minutes and it was completely painless. They took follow up x-rays and showed me the results after and it looked great. I really can't recommend this office enough. I sent an email and got a snarkey email back that they already provided everything and would not be changing the classification. I sent several emails and finally someone calls me back and it became clear they did not understand the classification process (even though I sent the form that outlines what that means). They said they would follow-up, they did not. I sent a follow-up email - no response. I call the Indy office hoping someone there was maybe a managing partner- haven't received a response. This is unbelievably unprofessional. I am deploying in 2 months and can't get this resolved without their cooperation. At this point, I had to request a refund for the exam so I can go to another endodontist. Please do not go here if you utilize Tricare, even if you're self-pay.

I actually fell asleep (with no sedatives) and napped through the latter half of the procedure. The staff - desk staff, hygienist, and Dr. Fisher - were all welcoming, friendly, concerned about my comfort and convenience, and very respectful and professional in practice. They were transparent about the cost at the time the appointment was scheduled, and it was within norms for this procedure on this type of tooth (I am a health economist and epidemiologist and have access to good data on pricing to compare it to). I was referred to this practice by another dentist, and Lafayette Endodontics had responded to the referral and called me to schedule the appointment withing 10 minutes of leaving the referring dentist's office. All pre-treatment paperwork (except for signing off on consent for the particular procedure) was completed with a simple on-line form they sent me a link to and which required less than 10 minutes to complete as a new patient. I hope no one needs Dr. Fisher's services, but if you do I strongly recommend using him.

The tooth had been vaguely bothering me, so I decided to finally do it, and got a referral to Dr. Patterson. I went in a couple of weeks ago and very quickly got escorted back to the room I was going to be root canaled in (is that a verb?). Dr. Patterson came in and talked to me first, which I appreciated. We chatted about pain management protocols (he's very aware of opioid addiction and helping his patients avoid that), which I appreciated (although I'm not an addict, I have family members who are). He walked me through some of the specifics for my procedure, since there are several options, and explained the various pieces of equipment he was going to use. Overall, he made me feel comfortable with *him*, rather than making my feel like I was just one of ten root canals that day. His assistant made sure I was warm (they have blankets!), and we got started. The procedure itself was painless. I had my headphones on, I zoned out, Dr. Patterson and his dental assistant did their thing. Afterwards, it was a little sore, but nothing ibuprofen couldn't handle. I have a follow up next week for part 2. Three fun facts: #1, Dr. Patterson's father was one of the founders of endodontics. #2, Someone loved their root canal so much they literally wrote poetry about it. #3, If you have errant hairs on your chin that you have to pluck...wait until after your procedure. Your face is all numb, so you can pluck them pain-free! Honestly, I hope I don't have to go back, because I'd rather not have messed up teeth. But if I do have to have another root canal, I'll certainly go to Dr. Patterson.

The needle was placed gently by Dr. Hart, and the medication was dripped in over a 4-minute period of time resulting in no discomfort during and after the numbness wore off. She called ahead letting the staff know she has a gag reflex with stuff put in her mouth. She reiterated this with Tom. She has zero issues with our dentist. When it came time for the treatment Tom put a 'catch' in her mouth so nothing would go down her throat which caused her to gag. Tom's response? Oh stop that! WTF? It's a reflex. It's not controllable! It went downhill from there. Tom was very condescending towards her. Totally dismissive of her feelings. Showed no patient care. Spoke down to her like she was a child. He gloated over is 25 years of experience, and how no one has ever gaged under his procedure. Oddly, all of the staff apologized for his behavior when he wasn't around. I was in for an evaluation in 4 weeks then 1 week later for the root canal. The team at the Noblesville office were welcoming and kind. Dr. Morretton came in after staff did their x-ray of tooth #4 and explained the planned treatment and numbing needed. He numbed the area before injecting the area in front and back of the tooth, felt pressure but no pain. He the did some drilling and locating the nerve canals, then did each root canal. Advised to take Tylenol 500 mg and ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours as needed for pain and start before the anesthetic wore off. Took Tylenol initially as had in the car and took naproxen 440 mg when I arrived home. No pain after the 1st dose of pain meds. Pleased with the care and results received.

My dentist said they will provide the referral and 3D scan to the root canal specialists I chose. I contacted Indy Endodontics (IE) because they accepted my dental insurance and received very good reviews. Upon contacting IE it didn't take to long to find out they wanted to charge me up to $315 to do another 3D scan. This was evident when they would not look at the 3D scan my dentist sent them on a CD and then attach in an email using Dropbox. I do not recommend this practice as long as they give a potential patient the run around. It is hard enough to go through a root canal when you have to have a crown drilled through to remove the calcified nerve. After contacting many other independent endodontists, I was able to get the work done more professionally from initial contact to completion. Senior Citizen

Plus, that dentist was in greenwood and my wife and I had moved to the far west side of Plainfield. So we began searching. Luckily, so luckily, we found Dr. Maupin. When we first got our teeth cleaned here, my wife had 7 cavities and I had 8! That was 6 months after our previous cleaning with the above mentioned, likeable, expensive dentist. So, although he was likeable, he clearly was doing nothing to help our oral health. After 3 years, some fillings, and a multitude of cleanings at Saratoga Family Dental with Dr. Maupin, we still love it here. We recently moved to the north east side of Indianapolis. Our new home is near a plethora of dentists, but we drive 45 miles just to see Dr. Maupin. If you need dental work, get here now. You won't regret your decision.
