They did a great job of being nearby, but not intrusive. We were given tags for the rear view mirror since we were also visiting the cemetery. Those driving behind the hearse were instructed to put on blinkers. We were directed to park separately, as soon as we arrived at the funeral home. It made the funeral procession organized and efficient when it was time to leave. My friend worked with the funeral home on a nice photo collage that kept playing during visitation and the funeral. There were approximately 175 pictures and the name of the person being celebrated. Having tissues and breath mints was a nice touch. I hope no one needs to use this business but if you do, you will be taken care of.

Some will not understand this but she was like a child to us and we were devastated. Holloway understood and treated us and her with a level of respect and professionalism that blew us away. Union Cemetery is large and is in the "lawn" format as opposed to the "park" format. Flat, square and with a variety of different headstones and markers. There are some 4000 interred here. George Short Williams (1877-1961) represented Delaware in the US House of Representatives from 1939 to 1941. He also served as Delaware State Treasurer from 1929 to 1933. Wilbur Louis Adams (1884-1937) was also a Congress, service 1933-1935. He was also Postmaster of Georgetown from 1937 until his death. Albert Fawcett Polk (1869-1955) served in Congress from 1916-1919. After his term, he resumed the practice of law, was appointed United States Commissioner for the District of Delaware in 1929 and held the position until his retirement in 1951. The cemetery is in excellent condition and is quite well maintained. I saw no litter and no broken markers. The lanes are easily navigable and smooth for walking. After taking a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa we were thrilled with our purchase of an…read moreincredibly beautiful (and very heavy) Shona stone sculpture of an elephant with her calf. Unfortunately, upon returning to the US we opened our find to discover it had been broken in many places; two legs broken off, an ear snapped off, much of the stone had crumbled, etc, etc, and we thought it was ruined. This was despite careful wrapping and packing by us but, undoubtedly, careless treatment by the airlines. After several Google searches we kept coming back to Lakeside Pottery, not only because they were the most responsive but because they seemed lovely people, totally genuine, and enthusiastic and caring of our 'predicament', attributes sorely lacking from every NYC studio who were often abrasive, and didn't seem interested. I took us a few months to get our ducks in a row but we eventually snapped pics of our statue, it was given an estimate for repair and a timetable of the repair schedule. We shipped off our beloved statue in a double box, pampered though it were priceless. We opted for the total restoration, since it really wasn't much more than the next level down. Mort asked us several times why we would consider spending several times its initial cost to repair the piece, so we knew he genuinely cared and wasn't in this for the money. It was our love for the piece that convinced him we were serious about our desire to have it restored as fully as possible. Long story short, when the elephant statue was finished (way ahead of schedule) we were sent photos of its repair and we couldn't believe what we were seeing. The, when we received the statue in the 'mail', my wife literally cried tears of happiness when she saw the statue, which was repaired so perfectly, so flawlessly, and obviously with such love and care, we still to this day look upon the statue and are baffled by how they did it. My advice: these guys are geniuses at what they do. Masters of their craft, totally unsurpassed in their field, I imagine. I could not recommend them highly enough. They made us so happy, and one day we hope to drive to their studio to thank them in person. Thank you a million times for restoring our statue and giving it a whole new life!

It was worse than watching a Jerry Springer show because we were in the middle of it! None of the arguing occurred because of us, but it was done in front of us. So bad, the police were called after we left and an arrest was made. We did get our mower back without having any repair done even after being in his hands for two weeks. If your lawn mower is at that garage, you may want to get it back...and fast. We were told he was once reliable and trustworthy but not anymore! After witnessing what we did, I would never trust anything to Burns Lawn Mower Repair.

Saint George's Chapel was founded in 1719 and rebuilt after a fire in 1792. It has since been…read moreupdated and the restored to its original colonial interior. The cemetery caught my eye and then the historical marker. There is much to see here and many extremely old headstones. Many of the stones have aged to the point they are illegible but symbols and such are still detectable. And while I did want to take a rubbing, I just took pictures including the largest one of Revolutionary War leader John Dagworthy.. The marker reads, "Before the settlement of the boundary dispute between Delaware and Maryland, this area was considered to lie in Maryland. On July 5, 1755, responding to the request of members of the Church of England residing in the upper portion of Worcester Parish, the Maryland Assembly enacted legislation authorizing the purchase of land and construction of a "Chapel of Ease" to serve their spiritual needs. A two acre tract at this location was then purchased from Walter Evans. On June 30, 1757, the newly-completed chapel was formally received from the builders by the vestry of Worcester Parish. It was named to honor the English prince who would become King George III." "By 1850 the condition of the chapel had deteriorated, and services were discontinued. Efforts to restore the church to active use were unsuccessful. Annual services were held here for a time, but for many years the building was maintained solely as a historic site by the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware. In 1928 the Sussex County Laymen's League funded the complete restoration of the old church, and a rededication service was held here on June 30, 1929." "At the urging of numerous persons concerned about the preservation of the structure, the State of Delaware received ownership of the property in 1967. Major renovations were subsequently undertaken with funding provided by the State and National Park Service. Prince George's Chapel was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on March 24, 1971. Of particular note is the grave of General John Dagworthy, an officer in the French & Indian and Revolutionary wars who was an early and ardent supporter of the church, and for whom this community is named." There may have been a little bit of talking behind our backs (but in front of our faces, with conversation slightly hidden). My P.A. Eric was the BEST. I could not have asked for a better provider. He was exactly the kind of health care specialist I needed, and wanted. If I ever need procedural or emergent health care again, I hope to again have someone just like him. There was a cell phone plug in locker station. This was an excellent touch. The registration gal (Filipina lady) was also great. Very personal, thoughtful, and went the extra mile to do things outside her strict job description to help a literally traumatizing experience be much better. Please recognize these excellent employees. Also, do consider working toward improving your HRC performance in practice. Though the wrong pronoun was not necessarily used with negativity, the staff's awareness could be honed in a touch better.
