We picked up approximately 30 pavers once we started laying the pavers we decided to just do the front walk and a small walk in the back and illuminate the walk down the side of the house this left approximately 10 pavers that we did not use at $36 apiece plus tax approximately $400 worth of pavers we wanted to return when we tried to return them we were then told they do not return anything mind you there's no signage and nothing on the receipt this is a stock item that's sitting in the parking lot we loaded it not them and we were willing to unload it not them but they would not even consider a restocking fee they just said no and when we told him that we were not use them anymore that that was a little ridiculous for a future customer they said that's fine so if we as a contracting company and a remodeler are treated this way how do you think you're going to be treated I would find somewhere else to buy your products these people are shysters

The fee was acceptable and paying was easy with Venmo, Cash App and PayPal. We talked liked neighbors for about 30 minutes when he was done fixing it, as he regaled me with colorful mower stories which convinced me he knows his business. Mower runs great so far. So I was happy with the end result. Jim has a unique business edge. He makes house calls. This is a big deal when your mower won't run and you have no way to get your rig to his shop. If I was running his business, I would push this advantage. At first, I had called a backyard mechanic but had to find a way to get my tractor to his house. That was a deal breaker. Then I called Earl's Place and put that worry to rest. The key, however, is patience and acceptance of some odd business practices (in my opinion). I called his number and got his voice mail which said to call the office number. I called and the woman at the other end said to text him as that's how he prefers to communicate. I texted and he texted back quick enough. But business by text?! Next, he showed up when he said he would to diagnose, then said he had to order parts and said he will see me the following week. Three weeks went by and I finally called him. He said I was on the schedule for that day or next. He showed up ahead of schedule and fixed the problem with a quickness. But I would have been more at ease if he had called or texted with an update in those 3 weeks I waited to hear from him. I would def recommend Jim and will call him again if I have a problem. Have faith in your fellow man, have some patience, and see what Jim can do for you. I trust him.

Unfortunately, upon returning to the US we opened our find to discover it had been broken in many places; two legs broken off, an ear snapped off, much of the stone had crumbled, etc, etc, and we thought it was ruined. This was despite careful wrapping and packing by us but, undoubtedly, careless treatment by the airlines. After several Google searches we kept coming back to Lakeside Pottery, not only because they were the most responsive but because they seemed lovely people, totally genuine, and enthusiastic and caring of our 'predicament', attributes sorely lacking from every NYC studio who were often abrasive, and didn't seem interested. I took us a few months to get our ducks in a row but we eventually snapped pics of our statue, it was given an estimate for repair and a timetable of the repair schedule. We shipped off our beloved statue in a double box, pampered though it were priceless. We opted for the total restoration, since it really wasn't much more than the next level down. Mort asked us several times why we would consider spending several times its initial cost to repair the piece, so we knew he genuinely cared and wasn't in this for the money. It was our love for the piece that convinced him we were serious about our desire to have it restored as fully as possible. Long story short, when the elephant statue was finished (way ahead of schedule) we were sent photos of its repair and we couldn't believe what we were seeing. The, when we received the statue in the 'mail', my wife literally cried tears of happiness when she saw the statue, which was repaired so perfectly, so flawlessly, and obviously with such love and care, we still to this day look upon the statue and are baffled by how they did it. My advice: these guys are geniuses at what they do. Masters of their craft, totally unsurpassed in their field, I imagine. I could not recommend them highly enough. They made us so happy, and one day we hope to drive to their studio to thank them in person. Thank you a million times for restoring our statue and giving it a whole new life!

Neighbors would drive by and keep up with the daily changes. Since they finished, we have had a lot of neighbors come by and tell us how beautiful it is. I go out and walk around the house every day now. Every bit of what we wanted was accomplished. The value far exceeds what we actually paid. There was nothing I asked for that was ignored or not worked Into the plan somehow. The team has two very key qualities that will pay off every time with us (1) listening to their customer and (2) attention to detail.
