This was a very decent community college. It saved me money in the long run. I came here to do my prerequisites before transferring to a university. I used the website Rate Your Professor to choose my classes. It was spot on for the most part, although my basic biology class was a lie. People said that class and professor were super easy but it wasn't. The professor wasn't as nice and helpful as people made her out to be. My other professors were very accurate in the reviews. Those professors actually cared and assisted you in learning the material better. The cafeteria was spacious and the food was very decent. Prices were reasonable for poor college students. The labs were great quality. I learned a lot during my anatomy and physiology 1 and 2. They provided models, online programs, and real cadavers to help us succeed in our learning. Parking was adequate. It wasn't a problem finding someplace to park except for this one area. That area got packed real quick so you had to walk a ways to get to the building. read more

Great school to get your general ed credits done. Cheap, and good educators. However, the admin has gone WAY downhill. Councilling, admissions, and registration are impossible to communicate with. They refuse to speak with you normally. read more

The absolute WORST school I have attended. I tried taking an online class and they didn't have enough students to fill it so decided to cancel it a DAY before class started. Then proceeded to tell me they will not be refunding me my money since I paid in full. I never got my money back and had to pay another $500 for a different class. The same thing just happened to me today and because of Waubonsee, I will not be graduating on time or get to start my career for another year. This has been the worst school to take online classes. They are not flexible or accommodating to anyone. If you work full time or have kids don't ever go here. I am very disappointed in this sugar grove college and will not be returning here. read more

Worst place ever I was studying outside on the ledge and people were fishing then I was looking to see them with a fishing hook going at me then it went in my forehead and I needed to go to the hospital to get it taken out cause people fish over here. This college has been a wonderful way to save money! Any other college/university you go to is very expensive, and this has allowed me to save enough money so that I can finish my bachelors at a four year. Waubonsee has very friendly staff who want so badly to help you with anything, and will work until they can find a solution for you. This is a nice campus in a convenient location. read more

I love going to this school. I have moved a lot and I have gone to other area community colleges and this one tops the cake. The facility seem to like their jobs and the campus is beautiful. I love doing my homework sitting next to the pond. It's just nice. Very good vibes. My only complaint do yourself a huge favor and have enough money to not have to deal with the financial aid office. These people seem so unorganized. Eveytime you go there everyone tells you something different. I am not the only only I know who has had a handful of problems with them. But don't get discouraged!! Just make it through all the crap and it will be okay. No one in the school will treat you like they do. Don't let them defeat you! Pretty poor excuse of a college. Some people who work there are rude and don't know their job. Some people there are helpful and know what they're doing. The administration is terrible. Paid a ton of money to take a second-language class as an adult. They set up an email account without informing me, then sent vital information to it without informing me -- never telling me how to access it. They also NEVER sent my final grade or information. Luckily I had made friends with another student who walked me through the process of checking it online. Never responded to BBB complaint. Instructor, however, was very good. read more

I can only say one word about this "college". DISGRACEFUL. I have such a long story behind my recent encounters with this establishment. But to make the story short. My husband signed up for a course here for fall semester, after realizing he didn't like the class and wasn't understanding the material I inquired on dropping the class and getting a refund. Remind you, this was not even a MONTH after he started the course. I was told he was within the dates of dropping said class and I would get a full refund and to fill out a student appeal form for "paper trail". I did everything I was told only to be DENIED our refund. Money we were counting on and promised. Fast forward three months and I am still to this day arguing with the school about getting a refund for the lie WAUBONSEE's EMPLOYEE told me. Not to mention I have names, times, dates, DOCUMENTATION of all of this and they are still denying us. I have spoken with a Doug in counseling, Melinda, Ronna the president's assistant, as well as a David VP of finance and operations. And YET still they are denying my refund even with legitimate proof. WHAT KIND OF COLLEGE LIES TO THEIR INNOCENT STUDENTS ABOUT MONEY ONLY TO SCREW THEM OVER FINANCIALLY???? Do not go to this school unless you want to be lied to, give false information and taken advantage of. I am connecting local news outlets, abc, fox etc to cover our story as well as other students that have been lied to by this college as I am slowly finding out I am not the only one being stolen from. I am enrolled in a photography class this semester. My teacher is great, but the lab manager isn't always there and doesn't have someone cover for him when he's out. It's horrible when you take off work and find child care only to show up to the photo lab and see a sign on the door saying it's closed early. It would be much more professional if they provided a substitute for when Mark is not available. If a sub isn't available, it would be courteous of the department to post the closing online or to send an email to the photo students, neither of which are hard to do. It just seems that the art department doesn't care enough for their photo students to make sure the lab is open when it's supposed to be or to keep us updated on all closings. read more

I'm surprised about all the bad ratings, but this school was legitimately worth it and saved me money in the long run. It's great to go to Waubonsee and pay $2000 a semester rather than going to a 4 year college and paying $12,000 a semester. I'm genuinely confused about the other ratings saying how bad it is. I had a great experience while going there, though I wish they bump up the curriculum. If you struggled in high school, this a good place to go to prepare for transferring to a 4-year. read more

Staff not very helpful. Called the admissions office and asked a few questions, person contradicted themselves on the phone and then admitted she didn't know. Recommended I call back at a different time. As for programs, they seem limited and the default answer is you should look at College of DuPage. Very disappointing. read more

There is no one to resolve your problems. If you have any issues, everything goes to committee. There is no one to listen your problems and resolve them at the spot. It is very different place than before. Staff is not to work, they r there to chat. They r not even train about computer programs. It is totally a waste of time n money at this College. Even proving all the proofs abt your new address, staff still didnt do it's work (which was ONLY to change your address in their computers). When you go back to sign the classes, they tell you "you can't assign the classes because your address is not right". Now WHO DIDN'T DO THEIR JOB!!!!! read more

Its not as good as college of dupage but I like the pretty nature this school has to offer. The Cafateria is nice with pretty windows and flat screen telivisions. They have a nice selection of clubs too. read more

The college itself is excellent, but they have created a scheme to make money off the students that I find reprehensible in this economic environment. Rather than using standard versions of textbooks, which would allow students to rent books from any provider, they have created "custom" versions of the textbooks, which have a different ISBN number, so you can't find them anywhere else. The custom versions are not even (in every case) the book the professor is teaching from ... we discovered this when my daughter and her classmates noted that the professor's book looked different than theirs and got worried - the professor told them not to worry about it, that they were the same book - so we got online and found that edition of the book for $85 less than we were forced to pay for the custom edition. Thankfully she hadn't unwrapped it, but what a scam! This is unquestionably the least ethical approach the college could have taken - while other higher learning institutions are looking for ways to keep college affordable, WCC is out to get every dime they can from their students. read more
