Never had any problems with my WAMU account until Chase took over. Then shortly thereafter Chase started holding any checks that I deposited until they confirmed the check was going to clear, which was sometimes meant holding my money up for a week. Then I found that they had removed my overdraft protection. I then cancelled my main account and moved to a credit union. I still had one active account that my wife used until they notified me recently that they would start charging $10 a month for their crappy account! My response was "YOUR FIRED" and I cancelled the remaining account and moved everything to the credit union. If you like banks who hold your money hostage and charge you a fee for every little thing than this is your bank.

Although my residence is out of state, when I finally was able to get ahold of a VA (E.M.) and submit all documents in very timely, minutes, it always took a couple of days, phone calls where you can't speak to a live person, emails that take days for a reply, voice messages that go unanswere...you name it, terrible! The couple of live reps that I was able to get ahold of over the phone both heard my frustration with the VA's and assured me they would get back to me in order to complete the opening of my accounts. Nevertheless...crickets. I gave my business to another financial institution. If you are a current member of Wauna congratulations. But if you're wanting to be a member, go elsewhere.
