I Had to get MRI's for my brain and spine for my neurologist and neurosurgeon. Brook was the nurse that took me back. I do like this location I come here often for my MRI's. When I changed I was already in pain and not feeling well so when I laid down I told them. For me it's so very painful to get these done. I guess I didn't drink enough water for contrast and with my small veins my veins collapsed twice so they had to bring someone else in to do my contrast. I was honestly tears during my MRI scan cause of my pains but I made it through phew. Brook was so sweet and the girls that did my scan were really friendly. I told them I was in so much pain they understood but not much they can do for that. I felt so dizzy, nauseous, sick and hurting that I was a bit scared to drive but made it home but made it. I do like this location not their fault about the contrast I have small veins and I should have drank more water. Thank you Brook for being so friendly they let me lay down for a bit till I felt ok to stand up. I ended up sitting in the dressing room for a while to gain my strength back. Lots of parking here, they also have covered parking as well. i parked in Handicap up front. There's a lot to be said for having empathy--especially in the medical field. I had a 1:00 pm appointment for an X-ray on my right knee. I left my house at 12:46 (I live two minutes away) so I could get everything in order and still make it in time to pick up my son from school at 2:30. Well, parking was a mess, and I really needed to park close because I still don't know if my knee is fractured or just badly banged up. By the time I got inside, the receptionist had three people ahead of me to check in. Once it was finally my turn, the first thing she said was, "You're late, we're going to have to change your appointment time." REALLY? I asked what she meant--"a later time?"--because when I made the appointment online, availability was already limited. She responded with attitude and said it would have to be at a later time. This lady clearly saw me in discomfort, literally wincing from the pain, and still showed zero empathy. I worked in healthcare for over 10 years. The minute I felt myself losing patience with people, I left. Not everyone can do that, I know--but damn it, if you're in this field, you're supposed to care. Now, four people have gone in before me--and I know not everyone got here on time, especially with how slow she processes everyone. Empathy matters. And today, it was very clearly missing. read more

This place is the worst! I am a cancer survivor. Recent follow up had an abnormal MRI. was told needed a biopsy and scheduled 4 weeks out!!!!! Then 6 days before my appointment, I got a call that they had to cancel my appointment and reschedule me for another 4 weeks out?!?! because radiologist is out. this is UNACCEPTABLE. this is not how cancer patients should be treated. After my visit here I took the time to read some of the reviews and the poor customer service expressed from others align with what I experienced myself. There's a blonde woman in the front who seems to have really poor customer skills and it ruins the experience for those coming to WaveImaging. I came here on 5/2/25 between 1030am-1130am. After getting an authorization for a ct scan, I got several calls to set up my CT scan appt. I went with Wave because they were located near me. I waited several weeks to come here and took a day off from work. I signed up for a 10:40 appt and could not come 20 mins early because of back to back appts. I arrived at 10:40 and 2 employees were talking. One said hi to me and helped me shortly as I was the only one in the waiting area, but the blonde lady kept trying to talk to her about stuff. Then I was asked to pay $100 co-pay and since I wasn't expecting that co-pay amount for the visit, I inquired about it. I wanted to make sure that they were actually in my network before proceeding because I have never had to pay that amount for a co-pay. Instead of showing me confirmation, which they had, the blonde lady in the front told me to call my own insurance, scolded me for not coming earlier to solve issues like this and now its "late" so she's going to cancel my appt when we both know it takes 10 minutes for a CT scan. Keep in mind that all of this occurred within a minute after I simply asked for confirmation if they're in network. It shouldn't have been that difficult to confirm on their end. If this is how she handles issues with new or returning clients, she's a detriment to the business. She's not very good at seeking solutions and couldn't care less about helping me out. I literally had to reason with her to let me get the service done and I'll be out of her hair. She should be embarrassed for communicating the way she did to a patient in front of other employees. I hope no other employees take her seriously if she ever tries to train them. Im glad she doesn't make the final calls here otherwise this facility would be doomed. I appreciate that another employee jumped in and gave me documentation to confirm so even though the supervisor showed up as I requested, I didn't need to talk to her. After the helpful employee confirmed with the technicians that they would still do the CT scan, I went in and was out in 10 minutes. The technicians made the process quick and easy and they were actually friendly which is why I'm even rating this facility anything higher than a 1. If you see a blonde lady acting up, do not let her waste your time. Avoid her and speak to someone who doesn't try to cancel your appointment immediately and who is actually interested in helping you get the medical help that you're there for. read more

I showed up at 7:25 after confirming my appointment was at 7:30 today. I spoke to a young lady yesterday and explained that I would not get here at 15 minutes early and then I had been here before. She said no problem just try and get here five minutes before to sign a couple of papers since I already had everything on file. She proceeded to tell me that she would email me the document, but I did not receive it and she said if it did not go through, don't worry, just come in and sign in. The woman at the front desk with glasses and short hair was not very receptive to not just me, but to any person coming in as I watched her. She then explained to me there's no grace. And she wasn't sure if they could do my MRI. I had to then insist let her know that my appointment was at 7:30 AM and it was currently 7:29 AM and I had already submitted everything. Not comfortable to push back and I needed to if I was going to get this done. I saw her reject other patients getting their MRI and disappointing because not everyone is comfortable to push back when it's needed. I didn't want any special treatment, but I was there on time for my appointment as I was instructed and prepared. For the record this review was written several months ago. I just forgot to hit send and got a pop-up reminder. I hope that Hwave Imaging has hired improved staff that are more professional and caring. The actual Mri performed was seamless. Yesterday, I was on hold on the phone for 40 minutes before giving up. Today, I called back to schedule, and was transferred FOUR TIMES. I confirmed I had the right department with each person I spoke to, but none of them wanted to/were able to schedule. Going elsewhere. After reading all the negative reviews here, I was pleasantly surprised with my level of service. I dropped in on a Friday morning, and was registered courteously and treated very quickly. The waiting room was peaceful and pleasant. I will say that I was unable to get through by phone, and I was unable to log onto their online appointment center after trying several browsers and enabling cookies...something is amiss here. I viewed my X-rays the following morning and can schedule a follow up with my PCP right away. Good experience for me, but I suppose it could take longer if the office was busier. read more

I was referred here by my oncologist and insurance for a mammogram and ultrasound after a CT scan showed a lump in my breast. I scheduled for Monday, November 9, and was told to bring my previous records. On Friday, just before my appointment, I received a voicemail canceling it because they said they didn't have my records. I had them ready to bring, but the office was closed for the weekend. When I called Monday, they said that's "the protocol" and rescheduled me for November 12. I collected every record from my oncologist and showed up early, but the front desk staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. They kept me waiting for hours, saying they were "downloading" my records from Kaiser, then blamed Kaiser when they couldn't get them. After all that, they refused to reschedule me and even tried to take me into a storage room to talk privately. As a registered oncology nurse for 38 years, I was shocked by how disorganized, unprofessional, and uncaring this place was. No patient--especially someone being evaluated for cancer--should ever be treated this way. If you're referred here, call your insurance and ask them to reassign your authorization to a different imaging center. They will do it (I did), and you'll save yourself the frustration. Honestly, I would not trust the radiologists who agree to work in such an unprofessional environment. read more

There's no one I can talk to about a possible false radiology report. They told me I had a serious medical condition and should report to the ER immediately. I was admitted to the hospital based on the Wave report. The hospital ended up taking a follow up image that disputed the need to seek ER care. The hospital image didn't show the serious condition that Wave reported. read more

Considering Yelp is known to delete negative reviews, let's see how this goes... Tried scheduling an x-ray appointment for my sick mother with a doctors rec. They won't let you schedule anything in person or over the phone. The online portal is horrible. It will randomly boot you out and/or not display correct locations and time. We managed to schedule a time slot two weeks out. We finally make it to the Orange location and my folks were told that they're overbooked and to try another location in Santa Ana. Meanwhile, 5 minutes later, we log onto xrayhours.com and navigate to their location to find that their wait times are 11 minutes and there are slots available all throughout the day. They can't even get their own web portal to correctly display available time slots. But this is the ONLY way you can book an appointment with them. So if you had to take precious time off, good luck, as it's a complete crapshoot as to whether they will honor your appointment. Now, I'm trying to book an appointment at their suggested Santa Ana location which, according to their own words, "is a guaranteed appointment." Well, go on xrayhours.com and look for yourself that you can't even select Santa Ana's location. If you click on that location, you'll be redirected to their Anaheim location. Tried to call them but it's a strict robo-operator that will hang up on you if you try to talk to a real person. And they remind you that appointments can ONLY be made online. For starters the front desk girls are rude & not friendly 3 days before my scheduled appt I had my doctors office fax my order to this office, when I arrived the day of my appt I was already in the room where my procedure would be done, NAKED & Dr. "Ma" is one of the rudest, inconsiderate, unprofessional doctors I've ever came across. She comes into the room and tells the radiologist Maren to stop because my doctor's office didn't send the correct diagnosis code. That should have been checked when it was sent THREE days ago not the day of when I'm already in the procedure room naked waist down! She looked at my mom up and down and said "can I help you" I turned around and said she is with me, the radiologist Maren proceeded to say "that's mom she is in here for moral support". My appt ended up cancelled since they could not reach my doctor for the diagnosis code, I leave, approximately 20-30 mins later my doctor calls me back I explained the situation and he called the radiologist to provide the code, Maren was wonderful she squeezed me in at the afternoon clinic she would be at. The 1 star is for the doctor, she is a horrible person. Thank you Maren for being professional, friendly, knowledgeable & making me feel comfortable. read more

Wave Imaging has one of the worst reputations in the business, but the reviews for ALL of their locations speak for themselves. My review is ZERO stars, but I am giving the ONE GOOD star for the X-ray tech himself (more on him at the end of my review). I took my elderly (Asian) mother-in-law here as English is her second language for a hip x-ray. We came in as a walk-in, but quickly found out that making appointments are meaningless - more on that to follow. When you go in, there are 2 lines. One is a sign-in sheet for walk-ins and the other is for appointments. The waiting room had about 12 other patients who were a mix of both walk-ins and appointments. During our 2-hour wait, we experienced/heard/saw: 1. The employees claim that they cannot make appointments in person. You MUST make appointments over the phone or online. Like, you are literally sitting in front of your computer and you can't help patients standing in front of you to book an appointment? Odd, but ok I guess. If that's really your policy, but that was just weird. 2. The employees were short, rude, and unhelpful to many patients. - There was an older Chinese couple who came in but spoke very little English. They were walk-ins but didn't want to wait, so the front desk kept barking at them to make an appointment online or over the phone. The older couple asked if they can make an appointment over the phone SPECIFICALLY for an x-ray and the employee said yes. HOWEVER, this is 100% false. Their phone system does NOT accept X-ray appointments. Phone appointment bookings ONLY allow for NON-X-ray appointments, like MRI, ultrasounds, and CT scans. So as the couple was leaving, I caught them outside and told them they can only make X-ray appointments ONLINE. They thanked me, because they had tried to make PHONE x-ray appointments but weren't allowed. They told me they were more confused because the front desk incorrectly told them that PHONE x-ray appointments were accepted. But, they didn't know how to use the web, so I recommended they ask their children or grandchildren to book their x-ray appointment. - At one point or another, at least 5-6 of the waiting patients went to the desk to complain and remind the employees that they'd been waiting 1.5 to 2 hours even though they had appointments, but they were told to either keep waiting or re-book (see #1). One elderly man on a crutch was so angry that he cursed and left. The poor man had waited for 2 hours. 2. The employees talked amongst themselves about personal topics. They weren't using vulgar language, but it was uncomfortable and unprofessional for them to laugh and joke about their friends' children and other personal stuff. 3. Another patient complained that she had been waiting nearly 2 hours just to pick up a CD of her X-ray. She was so upset that she got up and asked the front desk when she'd get the CD. The employee simply looked left and right of her desk and handed her the CD. The CD was sitting there THE WHOLE TIME! The employee didn't even apologize for this oversight. So of course, this lady becomes more upset and storms out after she gets the CD. The ONLY redeeming part about this location (Orange) was the X-ray tech. My mother-in-law said it was a nice young man. She said he was very respectful and did not treat her differently because of her basic English skills. The tech saw the X-ray order for only ONE X-ray view (her primary doctor is a jerk, but that's another story). When she explained her pain to the tech, he took the initiative to take THREE X-rays to capture a bigger view of her hip/pelvic region. She has been in a lot of pain and worried, so we really appreciated this young man. So, thank you to the X-ray tech gentleman for your kindness and professionalism. read more

If you are doing any imaging for an important condition please stay away from this place. This chaotic place doesn't know what it's doing! The CT scan tech are clueless and radiologist are taking 2 weeks to read a CT Calcium Scan that other places can do in 24 hours. When I called first they told me the results were sent to the doctor, they I said is not true, then they quickly changed that it take 14 business days to be read, than I called back spoke with another person they said is almost ready and I shall have the results the next day. Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI of the Brain Date of Service: 11/13/2024 First my appointment is at 12:20 and we arrived before that but was seen passed 1pm to get the service. Second concern was that they tricked you to believed that insurance does NOT covered for whats needed to be done. We were told the insurance does NOT covered this MRI. So it gives the understanding that insurance denied it and that theyve tried to claim atleast. Luckily I called my insurance company and ask why I wasnt covered given I had to pay $405 with my own pocket. It is not that I was not covered but there was no claim according to my insurance agent. It is by law for medical providers to let you know if the service to be done was covered or not and If you need to be pay out of pocket and how much. It does NOT say to TRICK the patient into believing the service is not covered because you havent got a respond from their insurance if it could be covered. They even trick you into signing the documents stating you will not make an attemt to get reimbursed if you find out their scam tactics..Go somewhere else instead. Im already struggling enough to come up with this money and had to push my initian appointment the following week even tho I urgently needed this service because my symptoms does not go away and needed to find out what really causing my fainting episodes. If i can give ZERO STAR i will!!!! Maybe you think it " does not affect" the quality of service you provide but it shows youre main goal is your money. Getting it in a sneaky way and that ruins patients trust. If thats your reputation with money do you think we'll trust you with our life? Not to mention what youve done added unnecessary stress to what were dealing with already health wise just because you wanna get paid right away in cash. I've had Mammograms, Dexa and MRI's at Wave. Most of the techs are friendly. My Dexa was way off from previous ones so I don't know. We will see the next time. The seem to take a long time to read MRI's, which is frustrating. Most of my issue lies with the billing practices. I've seen others mention this as well. Used to be, facilities took your insurance and waited for the EOB and then billed you. Apparently that doesn't work with this company any more. Seems to be all about the money. Their practices seems to be to bill you as if you have no insurance. I told them about a year ago when I had a mri there, that I would not have to pay that much. Still they insisted I pay over $600. Needless to say, I think I got back about half of that once they finally refunded me. Fast forward to my MRI about 2 months ago. Same thing, they argued that I had to pay over $450. No exceptions. I asked them if I could pay half because I knew for a fact, my portion would not be that much. They would not work with me at all and said absolutely not. Well, I was right, my amount came to about $93! I've called a few times now to get my refund of over $370 that I should not have had to pay. I called about a month ago. The person I spoke with asked me to forward my EOB. I did so immediately via the email he gave me. He said he would start the refund process. I hadn't heard anything for over two weeks. I called this past Monday and this new person said he had nothing on file that I even asked for a refund! But he could see the overpayment. (So were they not gonna send it to me unless I asked for it?) Once again, this new person started the process. Gave me his name and hopefully I will get a refund soon. I think if I need an MRI again, I will be going back to Open Advantage or Open Systems. What good is insurance if the facility makes you pay over and above and then take their time getting you a refund. Not great business practice. read more

I came here as a part of my yearly preventative care, the place is easy to find being it is together with other medical facilities where I had an ultrasound done a week back. The place looks clean and nice, the staff are ok and checked me in rather quick, they also informed me that the CT tech is running late which I appreciate as personally I really don't like lingering too long in the patient's waiting lounge. The delay wasn't that bad, the tech was super nice and made me feel at ease in the room where he'll do the CT with contrast, that machines looks intimidating but he was assuring and thorough, explained to me what's going to happen and also reminded me of things I should do after ( which is to make sure to hydrate to flush the grape juice he injected in me...just kidding - it was vodka LOL) Anyway, no sooner I was slid in that machine like a luggage on a conveyor, the procedure was done pretty quick ( and laser lights slicing you in segments like a plump orange) Needless to say, I was pretty happy to be in and out of there quickly, amidst the short wait, my experienced tech made the procedure pretty seamless. We came here after being turned away from their Anaheim location since they weren't doing X-rays. We arrived by 4:15, they close at 5, so we thought we were golden. We were not. They were no longer taking walk-in's for the day. I was seriously about to lose my shit and I think the lady could sense it. She was extremely apologetic and suggested we go to Fountain Valley. I asked if we could actually be seen there today since we had already been to Anaheim and I wasn't wanting to drive there for nothing. Lucky for us, they are open until 8! AND she was so over the top nice that she scheduled an appt for us to make sure we would be seen AND had my husband fill out all the paperwork so she could input it into their system so we didn't have to deal with it over there. I wish I had gotten her name to give her a proper shout out in case they read these reviews. She definitely turned our frowns upside down and I truly appreciated her going out of her way to help us. read more

I usually never give shoutouts to any of the labs or imaging centers I've been to a million times since my diagnosis but when frontline workers go out of their way to help you, I think they deserve KUDOS. I pay so much money for my own health insurance, picked the most reasonable plan for seniors with zero deductible so I won't have to worry about expensive office visits. Listen. And listen very carefully, When you're in your late 50s, every dime matters regardless of whether you make $350,000/year or $35,000/year. (LIKE this post if you agree!) I had to do for an ultrasound today and they said my office visit payment for today was $150.00. Moyra and Irene quickly got on the phone with my insurance provider and reassured me they'll take care of it. In the meantime, they let me in for my medical appointment. During Covid, I never really like seating in the lobby waiting for more than 30 minutes. I didn't have to. I walked in, had my ultrasound done by a polite imaging staff and by the time I was done, Moyra and Irene gave me the good news that my office visit payment would only be $15! I swear this is the only time I don't mind taking one zero OFF my hard-earned money! Usually I like hearing clients say they'll ADD another zero to their order! (Insert dancing girl here) I'm old enough to know that it's rare to have front desk staff go our of their way to help a patient. They flatly tell you how much you owe and if it's over the standard office visit amount, they usually won't question it. This is clearly a great example of how excellentCustomer Service should be. First of all, the signage to this place needs a Vast improvement!! The entrance faces the parking structure FYI. The staff is very nice, pleasant/clean waiting room. Most of the paperwork can be done online, making checking in faster.They have secure lockers for your personal use while you are getting your procedure.
